Used to drive and ride bicycle by his house quite often...was about a 1/3 mile from my house at the time (1974) Tulsa, Oklahoma. He went to Will Rogers High School, a direct Rival of the HS(Nathan Hale) I attended a several l years later.
Russell was born in '42, '49 here !
Always wondered what he had growing in that 3rd floor room....Purple Grow Lights(?) quite visible from the street, lol.
My father was a Demolition contractor. He sold Leon a Huge elaborate Stained Glass Chandelier that he had removed from one of the Art Deco bldgs he demolished in downtown Tulsa. It hung in the entry hall foyer !
A fancy(art deco style) 3 story mansion surrounded by a castle like high brick fence with big wrought iron gates.

Old & In the Way
Happy Independence Day, let's go to the beach, and the most iconic boardwalk on the planet.
Two things that will never again be like they were in 1973.
Asbury Park, and Bruce.

Edit, to add a couple of fond memories.
In the 50's as a toddler I stood on this boardwalk and watched the pitchman Ron Popeil ("But wait! There's more!") in a booth hawking his Dial-O-Matic, or was it the Chop-O-matic? Fascinating, whatever it was...
In '69 I saw Janis Joplin at the Convention Center, on the boardwalk.
