Just a dude
Dear @ChooChooCharlie can’t DM ya but I gotta ask: do you know what the name of that Wrecking Crew TV special is? I would love to see it in its entirety, so many greats on that stage. I just grabbed the 2015 doc, which I didn’t know existed until today. Thank you sir! And thanks to FC, the place where I come to learn more!

That Campbell solo was from a CMA tv special

Here's the documentary. Love that Glen played on Beach Boys records, and also on tour when Brian Wilson stayed home. When I was younger, always heard Glen Campbell hits on radio, thought they were catchy but a bit cheesy, but man, could he play guitar

Edit : Looks like that youtube link to full movie is problematic, can't seem to see it here. But you can search on youtube, plenty of trailer clips and interviews

It’s called “The Wrecking Crew”....not to be confused with the Dean Martin spy-romp of the same name

I want you (Shes so Heavy)

A killer version by The Beatles from the Let it Be sessions with Billy Preston ripping it on the organ ...

After a failed first try at it and some studio banter between John and George Martin ... the "loud" version starts at 1:30 ... you shouldnt be dissapointed

LOVE it, Frank - but they totally pushed George out of the mix entirely...*really* makes me curious as to why

Savage cut for sure ... a real scorcher

Yeah ...you're right ... miss that blusey George solo .... maybe he hadn't turned up yet that day or he hadnt come up with it yet...i have a book of their studio notes so ill try to find something on that session (Trident Recording session)

The one that ill always remember where George was slighted was Paul cutting him out of any lead guitar on Hey Jude ... there was a clip of it in the Let it Be movie where they had a heated conversation on things ... "i'll play whatever you want me to play or won't play at all ... whatever it will take to please you. I'll do it" ...

Paul could be a bit of a pain ... all were geniuses though and we were lucky to have been around through their time ... ;)

Along Comes Mary by The Association Live on Smothers Bros 1967

Amazing song by genius Tandyn Almer
(legend that he also invented a unique bong)

The Wrecking Crew played this one too
Check out Jerry Scheff's bass lines
Edit - Crew sans vocals:

(Association members were allowed to clap)
But they could play, opened at Monterey Pop

The lyrics concern our concern:

Sheriff didn't let them play this tune at DisneyLand

Leonard Bernstein was a fan of Almer

Happy Sunday everyone

On a chilly winter's day longing for spring, I dreamed up this memory from 1974 ... "Outside the wind is blowing, seemed to call your name ... again"

The Doobie Brothers
Another Park Another Sunday
