Music from the mid 60's to late 70's (when creative genius reigned..)

Holy crap, @macbill , that's impressive !

Was lucky to see him at the Cap in NJ late 70s, in a mind far far away, unfortunately don't remember much other than him drinking from a bottle of JD during the set, and that blues feeling through my blue haze

How about some folkie me-centered boomer sulking, looking back on our lives slipping by so fast?

I'm a big Jorma fan. Notice he is finger-picking with metal finger picks as opposed to just a pick. Bonnie Raitt uses plastic tips. I've had a couple acoustic classes from him. Very articulate. Maximum patience explaining fingering. Neat guy.

Jorma deserves his own thread. My favorite was Hot Tuna with Papa John Creach. What a violinist!

This IS my happy face..
"If you don't know Jorma, you don't know Jack." I saw them perform and met them a few times, always a treat.

I tried to talk my first wife into having Water Song as our wedding song...I lost that debate..

I saw Jorma acoustic at the Paladium on 14th st. in NYC ( a few times)....One time I was about 2 feet away as he played Water Song and at no time did his fingers ever leave his hands.

Love the way Joni paints with music.

Saw her at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles in '79. If memory serves me (and that's debatable) I think it was the same set list with same musicians. Or was that in '69 when she shared the bill with CSN & Y. Fuck, wayyyyy too many concerts and psychedelics to get them all squared away in my head. Maybe I saw both.

But thanks for posting that up, @Silat. Great stuff........

In 69 I was a year away from my duty date after being drafted and I saw a number of concerts. One was Led Zeppelin at the Civic Auditorium in Portland Or.

Gil Scott Heron : "lady day and John Coltrane." Awesome 70s jam. Got to see Gil in the 90s in New Orleans at Tipitinas I'm pretty sure.... Cheers, D.

David Bromberg!

I’ll see everyone you ever knew, loved, touched, stood
next to, heard of, smelt, felt, dreamed about in your
life or any of your descendant’s lives -- down to the
168th person
Roasted and tortured in hell
For 1 billion trillion years
16 eternity’s
27 forevers
11 thousand years after that before I will be your
fool!

What in the absolute hell ?!?!?!?! No likes for Cymande. Do you older heads not like funky instrumental jam music ? :myday:

I'll put this album up against ANY Santana album straight up. Not hatin' on Santana, but this album is just on another level IMO.

Turn off all the lights, crank this up, get baked AF & tell me your not a believer. Light years ahead for 1972.
