I've always thought the Matrix sandblast was a water fill line.

I fill mine to the bottom of the cali sandblast. Looks pretty much like what is shown there. ^^

BTW - Was getting some residue even though I use rezblock and clean every day or two with hot water and ISO/salt. Got some PBW yesterday, soaked for about an hour and and it did an amazing job getting gunk out that I couldn't even see. Thanks for the tip, OBG and LiveNLearn!

Same here except slightly a bit more so that the bottom of the meniscus sits a mm above the Cali state line. Works out to be around 6 ounces of water. I find with Rezblock added, more water is a problem as it it stacks so high that it gets stuck in the mouthpiece,

Yeah, at first the rezblock really makes it bubble up. I am now debating if I need to continue using rezblock after I saw how well the PBW works. Using 8-10 drops every day or two can really add up. Can't really figure out why it is so expensive.

toros23,
As fellow vaporists, would you buy a used Matrix Ion Reti that was combusted out of? If so, what would you look for regarding the piece?

I would.

If the piece has been left uncleaned for a particularly long time, I'd maybe ask if I could clean it first.

If you can get it spotless without any remnant combustion smells, then purchase it, if you can't then don't purchase it and you've cleaned their piece for free?

Aside from looking for the obvious chips, cracks, flea bites etc, then cleanliness is the only thing you'd need to be careful of that I can think of...

I would. You should look out for little things like cracks, bubbles or blemishes. Even though Mobius is known for quality I personally have seen a couple of pieces that I was surprised made it out the door, as in bubbles all along the top of the can and missed cuts in the matrix perc.

oh man, I'd hate to find something like this in a +$300 bubbler!

Dafni,
Thanks for all the tips. I'm also checking out pics online just to make sure I know what to look for with regards to the sandblasting. Hopefully it's still available.
