Chit, cancelled my prepaid order yesterday. I hated to do it, but I'll purchase one if and when they become avail. The ViVape I own is a good machine, so I'll see what developes. Onto the cloud perhaps. Or maybe an auto stirrer for their ViVape herb container while it's in use would be kool.

Have an update from Vaporfection on the miVape--emailed them about something else and also asked for an update. David responded. No established release date, but they're still working on battery life, and it appears their battery will be custom. They are "aiming for 4 - 5 hours of intermittent usage and 1 hour of continuous." That would be sweet, and if it delivers the quality of my viVape, I'm all over it. However, I'm not dropping $$ until it's released. Not because I don't trust the company, but because I'm not in a hurry.

A custom, in house manufactured battery :S
I really don't like the sounds of that... more marketing hooplaw and more big claims, yet not a single thing to back it up...
I'd be willing to be 100 dollars that whatever battery pack is in this vaporizer is either a LiIon or NiMH cell just like every other rechargeable battery pack in every other vaporizer, regardless of how "custom" they tell us it is...

Well, the Vpf people are on FC now. I'm a bit surprised they haven't shown up in this thread yet, but you can invite them and ask them yourself if you're interested enough. I'm just mildly curious so far myself

You may be right, but I tend to have faith that good folks don't maliciously deceive, and in my experience these are good folks. Regardless, I could care less what type of battery they use so long as it works well. And with increasing competition, why wouldn't a vape company want to market its products, both existing and forthcoming?

I sent them an email yesterday, asking about the progress on the MiVape. Dan Wynick got back to me right away. Thank you Dan! Here is the scoop: It looks like early to mid-summer for production. Any pre-orders like yours will be given priority shipment as soon as production finishes.
And that is that my friends.....
Hopefully we'll be MiVaping by August!

They have. See Vapinghole's post above. Apparently they have nothing new to add at this point, or posting here isn't a priority for them. Participation on the forum, from manufacturers, varies quite a bit. Some post nearly every day, often multiple times, others just once in a while.
As for the company making their own battery, that makes no sense. Companies that have products that need batteries buy them from companies that make batteries. Batteries aren't just machined pieces of metal or plastic, and it's not cost effective for anyone to try and make a small, enclosed battery. I'd bet that "custom" refers to them having a battery company make them a battery designed to their specs.

I'll clarify my correspondence with Vaporfection in April--they simply referred to a custom battery for the miVape--they didn't explicitly state they were making their own battery. I'd very much welcome a miVape update from them on this thread. I recently purchased some additional screens and told them I was anxious for an update, and they responded with a short note stating they'd let me know of any material updates ASAP. In other words: nothing yet.

i have no intention to spam or say this product is better than another, but i own the vivape myself and have been intrigued in the mivape sense december but have only been disappointed with delays on the release and a huge lack of information. my eagerness for the product totally faded as soon as i discoverd the pax vaporizer by ploom which i just pre-orderd as it supposedly has double the battery life than whats expected of the mivape and there is tons of info for a pre-released product and this company just comes off so much more professional and promising! so if ur willing to drop the $$$ then check out the pax vaporizer!!!! allthough the vape seems better in all aspects, an all glass air path still sounds very appealing as taste is trump in my books
Yeah I am extremely dissapointed in vaporfection. Not only has the mivape been delayed numerous times with little to no information, but they have had the time to apparently upgrade the vivape to a newer model (according to vapeworld and vapornation). And the mivape is still nowhere in site. I have seen the pax as well, but i just cant justify spending 250 on a conduction style vaporizer, let alone pay 250 dollars to preorder this especially when most new vapes come out got delayed or never came out (stealthvape, vivape, vxh cloud, wispr).
On another note, the mivape has apparently been in "preproduction testing" since about april. If its in preproduction testing they should have a completed test unit, how come there havent been any demo videos or anything? If the mivape even comes out this year i have a feeling its gonna be around december. Thats what it says o n vaporfection and vapornation says expect shipping

@mynameismud i totally understand i wouldnt have been so eager to per-order if i didnt know that the pax is already in production and that we have a tangible product to look at and observe other than just a measly picture of the mivape, all though we can all be skeptics at times my gut feeling is that i have full faith that this company has learned from the others in the past not to say one thing and do another, in regards to the delays, and will be released on time or very close to release date not a year later..
on topic to the vivape that is supposedly to be released with an upgraded version seems ridiculous to me that it hasnt even been a year yet and already on route to another vaporizer, w/o the release of the mivape which has been delayed approaching 9 months now, the delay in itself makes me worry about vaporfection, as a 9 month delay in any other consumer market would not be tolerated. i guess because it has been seen often before with other vape releases it dosent seem as bad, but if microsoft told you that a new xbox was coming out and every one preorderd and waited 9 months the whole world would freak out and complain how ridiculous this is so why dont we do that with vapes, i mean i guess we do but vaporizer companies should be less eager to promote there products until it is 100 percent ready for production and a guaranteed release date, so us tokers dont go through torture.

Vaporfection where are youuuu? Any update would be really nice, im starting to lose faith and am thinking the mivape is never going to come out
+1 it would be nice to start getting some stoke on for this puppy. Seems like there are alot of happy vivape owners, hopefully we get more info on this soon. Website says "late december"
Haha website has said late december since around october of last year, and im sure it will continue to say late december wwhen it is still in "pre-production testing" in january 2013... If anyone still has this preordered everyone should cancel immediatly to let them no were not gonna sit here and be lied to over and over, and if it is actually gonna come out then order it then. Plus im sure by the time this actually does come out theyll find enough problems to release the mivape 2 a couple months later like they did with the vivape.
Seriously i love my vivape but they way they are handling the mivape is crap.

Well if it is really in "pre production testing" then I DARE you vaporfection to post a picture of your pre production testing unit so we can see what it actually will look like and not just a cgi image.
