Made some changes, the glass chimney was designed so it was a snug friction fit for length. This didn't always work perfect so I added a wavy spring washer at the top. This gives me more latitude on the length of the chimney.

The tiny space above the glass is the washer area. Seems to work nicely.
Then after some discussion with @Vape Dr. I was convinced to rework the door. The original door worked fine but occasionally there were adjustments needed and @Vape Dr. convinced me it would look cleaner if I used a slide in door.

Here is the door shut, no thumbscrew, no metal ledge or screws showing.

If you slide the door open a bit you see the spring loaded, gold plated contact. When you shut the door the contact hits a copper strip in the door and completes the circuit.

The other nice part is this gave me room to move the button to the side.

So moving forward this is the design. Since this didn't change the heater or air path I was comfortable making these changes without a full blown round of testing. @Vape Dr. and myself have tested this design and it works great.

You all knew this was coming I have to raise the price to $120, actually I think I have to go a bit higher than that but for now $120 plus shipping.
I've contacted the next person on the list to claim the beauty you see above, early next week I should have nine more ready. Then an all out push for the next 33 units.

@HellsWindStaff the door can be inserted so it breaks contact, I'll post pics later.

We knew changes were coming but I had presumed they were back burnered with all the demand since everything worked fine. Very exciting for everyone on the wait list and any new customers that they will get such complete well-polished units!

The new battery door lid looks phenomenal (and good idea with the washer, I had mentioned that issue with mine, sometimes the chimney moves but still works) so much cleaner without any metal at the top, no sharp edges at all, really really great for a complete product that's for sure.

The button on the side is also pretty exciting, two birds with one stone I guess since the battery door change is what freed up the space. I agree that the button on the front was more unique (looked great with the portholes) and plenty functional, but this will probably be better to satisfy a wider range of users and it also looks pretty great there right next to the logo, the TOUCH part!

Well done sir, and thanks to @Vape Dr. for pushing you to make the change, I know he had been talking about it since before he even had an MVT himself! :whip:

Can't wait to try this final model some day in the future, even as a beta tester I ain't gonna jump that long line of anxious vapers! :drool:

Yeah man, come onboard shouted the other left-handed European :D (actually that old design is pretty neat for guys like us -'but next iteration will be fine too! Leave alone that door :luv:)

Glad to hear that no tweaks were necessary in terms of functionality. It rocks.
Price point still low so jump people. TBH even $150 would still be a STEAL. Really, one guy, hand-made, on-demand full convection, wooood...! No brainer. :clap:

the numbers get updated so the first person on the list is #1. The algorithm takes all the people on the order list that haven't received a unit and ranks them by date that they requested. Basically your number won't change till I start shipping. So if you are 40 and I ship 10 you go to 30.

Hello all!:wave:

For the past few weeks I have been trying out the newly re-designed mistvape touch to make sure all the changes worked and worked well.

The first most obvious change is the top with a sliding piece now, eliminating all the metal on top making her look purdy.:brow:

Second is the button. For those who have MVTs already, I had to un-learn using the button on the side, I was used to it.

After a week passed I was good to go. It felt normal. It felt great in my hand.
I feel Righties and Lefties will both like the front button placement.:tup:

After much testing I can say without a doubt the new revisions make the touch even better. It feels more ergonomic in the hand, the glass joint is sunk in a bit and grabs the stems very tightly.

I want to add that I also use a bit less button time to achieve the same results.

On a cold unit I will pre heat it for 3-4 seconds, wait, then start drawing at a medium pace then "touch" the button for 3.5-4 seconds, let off the button and continue to pull heat from the oven.

Now for some new Mistvape touch porn.:)










I wanted to add the lid can be flipped around 180 degrees to cut off the battery. As you see, I have the original pin design and it still cuts off battery contact perfectly. The new pin design not only looks much better but will function much better too.




Dave truly made an awesome vaporizer with top notch taste, vapor, efficiency, looks, and usability.:rockon:

If you were on the fence about picking up a Mistvape touch, I would strongly recommend getting on the list. That list will be growing something fierce!:evil:

I didn't want to spill the beans on the switch yet but Dave just gave me the OK to show you all as he plans to put them on all the units going forward! :clap:

I seem to have a bad case of VAS
Can I get on the list twice? Is that a possibility? The switch was a great update and definitely a need for extra safety. Dave has done a great job with this. I remember reading the original mistvape thread and watching him update and improve the design over time. I hope this keeps picking up steam and helps bring forth a change in the vaporizer market. Well done @mistvaporizer.

huge thanks to @Vape Dr. for making such a great case for having the switch. It made me think about it and eventually I had the duh moment. The answer was too simple. The mosfet does all the heavy lifting but to turn the mosfet on takes only a tiny amount of juice. So you can use the tiniest on/off switch because you are dealing with controlling the mosfet signal not the power to the coil. Interrupting the current going directly to the coil takes a big switch, something rated at 10 or 15 amps maybe higher.
So once I realized the obvious it was a no brainer. So here is the most recent Touch's switch

Added the url for mistvaporizer.com which is up and running. There is a shop for stems and accessories so if you need something check it out.

Sorry @kaisersosay415 those wood stems are custom, you have to talk to Alan.

Funny, I was just getting ready to ask you @Vape Dr. and @mistvaporizer whether the original version could be retrofitted with the sliding door and then I read @Vape Dr. 's most recent post and realized maybe it's time to think about ordering a second MVT? Arrrrrggggghhhhhh! What's happening!? VAS has climbed on my back and just won't let go! Somebody stop me!! :mental:
