The MiniVap has always been under appreciated. I bought my first MV in 2014 and back then they were priced at almost $600 US for the kit. That alone limited greatly who would purchase and not many did, but those of us that did for the most part are still smitten with it. And as the price came down more got on board. It's like a hidden gem.

The Bowle has a lot going for it. Perfect for on demand convection micro dosing. Great tasting at low temp like my MV. I will still reach for the MV more often because when vaping at home I'm not really in a hurry so filling a large basket (~.5g) and relaxing and sipping on my MV is preferable. I don't have to worry about time outs (the MV times out but it's like 15 min.), babysitting the heater, stirring or any other nuisances, just sitting back taking hits at ones leisure daydreaming.

I love the MV for extended sessions, but admit I am using my Bowle 90% of the time right now... I am working full time and as a parent of a toddler, I need to medicate heavily and as fast as possible as I do not have time to sesh, that is where Bowle excels over MV. Both keep a place at my table.

MiniVAP has arrived! From Friday in Spain to Monday morning in Utah was a hell of a quick trip! I’m like a kid on Christmas morning, waiting for the okay to open presents (aka, waiting for it to charge before use). Took all the appropriate requisite time to play with all the accessories I got with it after unloading it and dropping into the charger. Anybody remember those old Mervyn’s Black Friday commercials from the ‘90s, where the old lady is standing at the doors chanting “open-open-open-open”? Yeah that’s me right now. This has been almost 12 years in the making.

Might I make a suggestion? Start off on blue and temp step the first time through. The flavor profile of your material will be different than ever before. Congrats and enjoy!

I got the opportunity to taste & enjoy the very first bowl of my new MiniVAP at 4:20 this afternoon (cheers!). I did not see your post @Choices until just a few minutes ago. I did temp step my first bowl, however, just not from blue, so I will have to taste a little slower on the next bowl, to fully appreciate the full range of MiniVAP’s potential.

I started at blurple and temp stepped to red. Holy fuck. Mighty owners are a proud group, hailing their device’s ability to produce rich, flavorful clouds. I have puffed a Mighty. I own a Crafty+. I have sipped and ripped a great deal of internet-purported top notch vapes—not comprehensive by any means, but I have tasted some nice vapes and hookahs in my time. There isn’t a single device that I have listed that even touches my MiniVAP. Holy shit! Hitting that bastard on red fucking *medicated* the fuck out of me, and I am by no means a light weight in this game. I have never had a vape medicate me like that. Clouds on a Mighty? Hahaha! Pishaw, I say. I let loose a fucking bong rip of a cloud from MiniVAP (without the bong) on red. I’m honestly not sure how often I’ll step it up to red after that lung I left on my patio. Green hit me just right as far as cloud density goes, and blurple was a super pleasant flavor ride. Truly, I don’t know why I didn’t invest in one before now. Happy to be a part of the MiniVAP community, finally.

Great to hear! Yes it is an amazing device. At the current price point it is a true value but since it isn’t “instant on” and there is no screen to watch as it heats up like many folks seem reluctant to get one thinking it is outdated or somehow lacking. Simply put it is exceptional at doing its intended purpose and easy to understand the passion for the device of those who own one. Love my Orange MV!

The large baskets last for-goddamn-ever on this bad boy, especially with a fat dab of concentrate sandwiched. Currently enjoying a medley of 3 flowers, Bruce Banner #3 (27%), Jungle Cake (29%), and Citral Flo (23%), with a dab of Blue Chem wax (84%). (Mods, I’m new, forgive me, so please delete if discussing strains is not allowed) I have discovered that my device will shut off before it reaches temp if I start out on green (all cores are quick cores, right? Like, the black/silver models have the same heater core as the LE models, right?), so my work around on that has been to start the temp at blue and temp step it to my desired color/temp, since temp stepping with this device is considerably faster than heating to the higher temps from cold.

I do have one question: when the device is off, and I push the minus button, the front light flashes a teal color. What does that light indicate? Does it change colors under any conditions?

I think it indicates battery level but I rarely check battery level unless it is on so I can’t be sure.

I think I may have made some new converts, as well as helping to spread MiniVAP awareness with the vaporents over on Reddit by sharing my new acquisition. The ones who’ve been around for a while knew what’s up, but it was discovery time for some vaping newcomers and the uninitiated and some of them were inspired into researching and stocking carts with expensive goodies not long after coming in contact with my post. Damn I’m impressed by this machine!

@Pagan Zod , I made my order a week after you by the sound of it. My account was charged Monday. I'm hoping I have at least as quick delivery as you did. Reading your praise for this machine just creates more anticipation for its arrival. I find myself keep checking that status on my order waiting for the "processing" to be changed to "shipped".
What mouthpiece have you been using? What temp do you prefer?

@Mckdenton i got the 14mm WPA from MiniVAP that I’ve been using with my hydratube bubbler or my j-hook. I either couldn’t manage, or didn’t have the patience, to fit the glass WPA into the flexicone, so I ended up clipping off one of my flexicone+ at the lid & it fits like a charm & is super sturdy in the unit. I also contacted Delta 3D Studios, because I remember seeing their silicone WPA in this thread back on page 116, if memory serves. He had discontinued it about a year ago, but still had the molds and graciously put the SonG back on his storefront so I could buy one (spoiler alert: it’s still up on the store last I checked), so you may still be able to get one of those WPAs too (and maybe he’d appreciate the business of making more than just a special request one off). I got that one because it has a little bit more free airflow since it doesn’t require the bottleneck to fit into the flexicones like the glass WPA does. Once it arrives I’ll update on how much more efficiently it pulls, if at all.

@Pagan Zod , I too ordered 14mm wpa from Minivap to use with a J hook. I also was able to grab the @Delta3DStudios WPA around the same time I placed my order for my MV I was surprised to find it on their website. I just tried to find it and it is no longer there. I guess I have you to thank for being able to find it the other day. Thanks!

Very interesting!

I started off with a Lamart TETRAx (same heater as the highly praised TETRA P80) but had trouble getting it to work well and replaced it with a Crafty+. I love how reliable and easy to use it is, but VAS is ways around the corner and the tech behind the MiniVAP / Tafée Bowle is tempting.

What do you mean when you say the MiniVAP gets you higher than the Mighty/Crafty+? At the end of the day don't you get the same amount of THC from the same amount of weed? Is it just that it reaches higher temps so it gives you the THC faster?

For what it's worth, I rarely use the boost modes in my Crafty+ since cannabis makes me very sleepy and I like my ABV to not be super dark so I can eat it later.

What I meant by that was, I have a typical session by which I medicate. I take a specific amount of draws and I’m medicated, typically 4-5 solid tokes, and then I puff a couple of cool-down hits, which tend to be super light while the device cools down (MiniVAP’s basket system is superior to S&B’s dosing capsules in that you can pop the cap off the MiniVAP and pull cool air straight through the dosing basket, which cools the material instantly, allowing you to minimize any loss from continuing to cook between sessions), so I usually don’t finish a bowl in a single session. After taking the same amount of puffs from my MiniVAP that I take from my Crafty+, I felt lighter and higher than I typically feel, and the only difference between the two sessions is the machine, and I suppose if we are being nit picky, the size of the load was double what my Crafty+ is capable of, so maybe by having a larger quantity of material to draw from at once adds to the potency of the hit, but I am not a scientist, so I cannot comment imperically. It’s purely qualitative, and who knows if it can be quantified, to be honest. I just know that I have read the hype in these hallowed forum pages for nearly 12 years, off and on over that time, and I can unequivocally confirm the MiniVAP hype is real and and the good word is reliable.

I dunno, I’ve stated the same thing on here. I don’t know specifically why but the mV vape signature is probably my favorite. I have repeatedly had the experience of vaping a known quantity of herb in another vape and walked away thinking “that would have been better in the mV”

EDIT: not to mention, removing the load from the heater between hits, and the ability to keep everything perfectly clean. Yes.

Looks like you guys are going to make me an mV vape customer. I’ve tried a Mighty and fell in love with the flavor. Currently own an Airvape X and it’s good but battery doesn’t last long. Will there be any discounts during 420 for the mV? If not, guess I’ll have to pull the trigger now.

This device looks like the only thing I've seen so far that would replace my mighty, been thinking of selling it to offset the cost of a minivap as I don't see the point in having both.

If you really want to test the power, try loading half as much as you'd normally load in your crafty, not double. 😄😄
