how does the MiniVap compare to the Mighty?
Very comparable I would guess (I own a Crafty and a MiniVAP) ... based on the assumption that the Mighty is same as Crafty apart from maybe slightly better heat recovery and longer battery life ... the MiniVAP and Mighty work equally well and can both finish .15-.2 in a few hits (to a dozen depending on your patterns .... I'm usually around 3-4 hits on either device)
- The MiniVAP tastes better
- The Mighty is much smaller and more discrete
- The Mighty works better without water as the cooling unit works very well (w/ the MiniVAP a really long hose or even better a long glass straw will achieve this cooling) ... I use my MiniVAP almost exclusively through water though ...
- The Mighty has much shorter heat-up time before being ready to hit (and produce massive clouds)
- The MiniVAP is more modular (user replaceable batteries, etc)
- Cost of accessories/parts for Mighty are cheaper than MiniVAP
I think if portability and discretion are priorities ... than the Mighty might be a better fit ... for home use, where discretion is not required, and where an extra 5-10 minutes per session doesn't matter, the MiniVAP might be the better choice due to higher quality hits.
(this is all of course IMHO
)
Edit:
I'd say if it has any substantial conduction at all then the mighty can't taste this good. Don't have one though, so pure and
utter speculation on my part.
This is spot on ... and likely the primary reason the MiniVAP tastes better ... MiniVAP is probably the most pure convective vape I've ever owned and is also the best tasting.
