Using the large basket in combo with the arizer stock as the lid. Gives a nice happy medium for material usage whilst maintaining a closer proximity to the heater for the entire duration of the session.. Oh and my white clean flexicone I use solely with this combo 
is still completely free of debris and unsullied colour with zero tackiness

Vapornation got back to me quickly with the OK for replacement unit. As expected....but with relief. Hope the second one becomes a long time friend.
Edit: @lazylathe they are out of black. Gold and Silver in stock.
Really wished I bought Gold initially, so this is a blessing in disguise for me at least.

That is some good news!!!!
If they offer a GOLD one I will snap it up!! Think it should be a newer version.

Ok, so I finally got around to making a video, there was some music, but youtube muted it, some copyright bullshit. So no music
Anyways, I started with like .2 jammed into small basket. Started on Pink(heat setting 1), then switched to Green(heat setting 2). I was trying to show the timer on cell phone, but it didn't come out/show up good in video. Was like 2 & 3/4 minutes to Pink and like another minute to Green, I've done a start from Cold to heat setting #3 Green and it took just about 4 minutes to reach. Hope this comes out good, as this is my first attempt at a video, Enjoy

Small baskets are half the size of the big ones...I checked.
I think I've found my stride with this unit, and it didn't take long. This thing absolutely milks my tubes and tastes great while doing it! After getting hammered with glass, I finished off the night in front of the tv in battery mode with my Herbie whip (thanks @lazylathe !) and it was so cool and smooth, and monster hits again!
The whip really completes it for me. This thing can keep up with any other vape I have in terms of taste, clouds and effect!

There are four heat/temp/colour settings. Blue is 190.
Then.. Pink, Green and finally Red.
I'll watch your video tomorrow as my connection at work sucks a big hairy one.

Like some others, I'm really torn between this and the Mighty... but leaning towards the MiniVAP.
Can anyone speak to how hot the baskets get? This is my one issue with the Cloud EVO, which is my current vaporizer. The EZ Load bowls get a little hot to handle during use.
Also, do you need to stir the material while vaping, or does it extract evenly regardless?

The baskets get hot but it has a silicone (flexicone) cap that you can hold. It has 4 temps and I'll often vape straight for temps 1,2,3 and then move the basket to a bubbler. It's very warm but easy to hold by the flexicone. Note that it only takes 3 seconds to switch basket into a bubbler. even after hitting it hard on high temp, the basket is easy to grab with the silicone cover.
Never need to stir as it has a designed "laminar airflow" which evenly extracts . Red temp is 437 F yet it never combusts, never tastes fowl like some other vapes at high temp.
It is the best tasting vape of any I've ever used---even glass path models.
I just tried a Mighty today for the first time and I'm thinking of doing a comparison write up.
The Mighty is mighty nice and would probably give it a #2 rating out of all the portables but feel the miniVAP still holds the #1 spot. The Mighty is the whiz-bang new kid on the block with the fancy dig readout and all the honeymoon hype but when it comes down to taste, efficiency of herb, battery life, versatility for straight draw or water or AC 110 power, quality of build, how often cleaning is needed,
ability to have a spare battery, in one way actually smaller for transport as mV breaks down into 2 smaller pieces--it gets the nod.
Mighty works good as I'd call it #2 overall portable where small stealth size is not needed. The dig control is sweet and temp control is great but 4 temps on mV gets er done AND Mighty max temp is 410 F where mVAP is 437 F. The cooling chamber is nice but the downside is it takes a lot of cleaning.
Battery life is nowhere near the mVAP. Much more plastic build vs aluminum miniVAP.
If there was no miniVAP out there, I'd get the Mighty and love it. Actually I love the Mighty but love the miniVAP more.

I have only just learned the miniVAP is capable of not cooking the weed unless you are hitting it.
is this true, if so, is there any delay between hitting and it starting to heat?

my biggest problem with portables is forget they're going and cook part of a bowl for my session, hoping the miniVAP actually does this really nicely

Yes where the MV shines is about the taste, the first draws are fantastics but you can still enjoy the taste to the last hit because it don't cook your flowers between load, you can forget your vape at max t° and your load is still the same when you hit it again..
First hit is really tasty but there is not really visible vapor but after that you get thick clouds after thick clouds, sometimes your bubller don't seem really milked but when you exhale you get an impressive amount of vapor!
I never tried the Solo but about stealth the MV is not really nice, at least in the street cause I used mine in the hospital, they asked what it is, I told them it was a sort of big e-cig, I was not alone in the room and nobody noticed any smell!(unlike my Xp)
There is a learning curve too, not really a pia but my first tries was not satisfying, you need a perfect dry flower, a not too big load, a not too coarse grind and long and deep inhalations cause you need to heat your flowers while hitting.....that's why I think it could be not perferct for a people with lungs problems, here the Cloud is easier for lungs and the airflow is a bit restricted but did it performs the same with a larger airflow....? I think not!
I noticed too the decarb kit helps to get vapor with shorter inhalations and since somebody posted nice results with kief I tried a bowl made of 50%kief+50%flowers, awesome clouds even if I think my kief was not totally extracted (it still sticked at my fingers!).

It doesn't cook the herb unless hitting it.
Last night I made a basket, put it in on red, and forgot about it.
I opened it up to inspect and the herb was "virginal".
Decided I didn't need another session so turned it off and it
will be perfect for today.

Many thanks for this detailed reply -- I think you've tipped the balance decisively in favor of the miniVAP. The easy ability to use it with a bong is a major selling point for me.
