Sheesh...is it okay if I keep apologizing? At least on that one I can say it was prepacked when it got to me...

I was wondering why you got that glass mouthpiece...I'd never seen one before.

Cut one of those flexicone+'s down and it will work like a regular flexicone. I'll get a set of flexicones out to you, with some of the degummed hemp fiber to boot. At least then you will be ahead of the game for once on this order.

Do me a favor and private message me your last name. I had three packages go out that same day and have no idea which is yours by your avatar here.
PM'd. The glass mouthpiece IS weird!! I couldn't ID it. I tried it on the end of my looong whip and while it's actually pretty comfortable on the lips, it restricts airflow a little too much to be practical.

Edit: Received the shipping cost refund that I requested from Hermes. Thanks are due to both Hermes & stickstones for owning the problems and making meaningful recompense.

Please, use the promo code: MVBF2017 to get a 20% off on all the products.

Sorry that this year the deal is not as good as the last one but I really hope some of you can enjoy new accessories or new units/cores or batteries. Discount also works for updating the cores or battery replacements.

Take care and have a Great Green Weekend!

Used to be never. Once the new cores came out I noticed a heating smell when doing a couple of calibrations. Others noticed this as well (I think I got two reports). A couple of burn offs got rid of it on the units I did it on. Last time I talked to Hermes about it, which was a while ago, they were aware of it and working on a fix. Not sure if it was doing burnoffs during production, or some other change, but they were on it.

I appreciate your response. i have heard the exact same things from HR and Lynx - and found both to be inaccurate...:-(. I have a very fragile system that cannot tolerate toxins from whatever.

If I order an MV - only do DRY runs - and am not satisfied that it is free from outgassing, may I return it?

That’s a question best asked of Hermès.

Hello Aner, thanks for your question.

As manufacturers, the first mention is about the food grade materials but it's also very important the cleaning and vacum process of the airpath at maximium temperature to avoid taste or smells.

The best option is if you feel good using the miniVAP, so please send us a private message to explain your case. If you are in US, contact with Stickstones and we will try to help you.

Hey everyone, just signed up here - I just ordered a Minivap with the glass QC on POTV, since my Mighty's plastic body finally gave out with a couple years usage.

I was a big fan of the mighty's cooling unit, and was wondering what mod I should invest in to help cool the vapour from the minivap? I'm thinking I'll be using it in the 375-395 range.
I also wasn't sure about how to order the power adapter in the US? The US doesn't seem to appear as a listed country option on Minivap's website.

Thanks for the help!

Is somebody already tried to use the MV (especially the last quick glass core) like a log vape? When I'll got time I'll try to find a glass stem which fits well the MV bowl to see if this is possible.... I want to see if the unit is usable without this silicon nipples. and I need to try again the teflon original nipple, or maybe for the first time... I don't remember if I ever tested it. Is it still sold with the kit?

I have been trying to read this thread completely but didn't manage to remember all the information now from all that vaping :science: What is the difference between the cores, can somebody explain this briefly?

I wanna now the difference between:
  • glass core
  • teflon core
  • glass quick core
  • teflon quick core

If we use the vaporizer only dry which core is best and why?
Which core is best if we use the minivap only with a bubbler and why?
And last question how would you rate the Minivap to the Mighty vaporizer?

Teflon core vs glass core: Teflon is more convection, the glass core throws in a bit more conduction. (Basically, the walls of the teflon core stay much cooler. The glass core wall, seeing it is made of glass, will heat up significantly more during the session and soak up some of the heat radiating it back into the load.)

What is best is mostly depending on user preference. I myself, a teflon owner lol, will always wonder if the glass core might have an edge to the teflon core in giving bigger clouds...But, seeing I am a flavour chaser first and foremost, the teflon has the advantage of preserving the flavour a bit more throughout a session.

The difference between the OG core and the Quick core is the heat-up time and battery time, both have drastically improved with the Quick core. (I believe if buying a new one it will always be a quick core? @stickstones ?)

About the Mighty I cannot help you seeing i never owned one. For sure another member will be able to give you an answer to that.

Hi everybody,
After a year with my minivap I have to say I'm really satified with it. It's now my main driver.
  • I specially like it works very well with small loads. I combed a small basket so it would hold even less.
  • As for vapor quality, it reminds me of my old volcano.
  • If the price tag is not too big for you (I got it 50% off in last year BF), I'd really recomend it as a home portable.
There is only one think I don't like:
  • I don't get good vapor without the flexicone, whether the big one or the small one, and they get dirty quickly. I know some of you use them for a long time, but after a month of usage they get too dirty for me (the company says they are good for 30 uses). So, that's a small extra cost.
  • I have seen some photos here with glass stems, and I use them ocasionally too, but I think I would be nice to have a glass/ss stem that fit the lid and the basket. Hope they develop something.
  • I'm going to write it in spanish too: Por favor, desarrollad alguna alternativa a los flexicones en cristal o acero, para que se puedan lavar y no sea un gasto constante. Sin los flexicones no consigo buenos resultados.
Bye everybody.

Teflon core is the original and the maximum flavor experience. Glass adds some conduction for bigger clouds but a little flavor is lost. Note that I have never ever ever felt the Teflon didn't make big enough clouds. If you do a full basket, it will knock your socks off and be super clean flavor.

I use dry and with water and my 5 miniVAPs are all Teflon core---I have no desire for glass core and the glass core is obviously more fragile if it takes a fall.

mV can go from dry use to water in an instant. mV is superb on taste, efficiency of herb used, cleanliness, battery life, and the Flexicones basket modules are ingenius.

I have 2 Mightys that I bought for out and about use. IMO, that's the only area where they are better, just cuz they are smaller profile. Taste/efficiency/cleaning needed are below the mV. If you want more info on mV vs Mighty, you can PM me as I don't want to sidetrack this thread....

This guy here should deserve all the likes. Because everybody always praise their vaporizer in a good light. With that i mean only giving the pros but not speaking about the cons. For me a good review and a helpful review is posting the cons and not only the pros. Don't be afraid this will not put the potential buyer off track but at least he knows what he can expect and be less frustrated about it after he buys it. This is a big one here guys learn your lessons from this.

Does this mean the glass has better extraction? I don't get the taste thing as glass is one of the cleanest materials when it comes to preserving taste... Teflon is a shady material that is sometimes used in cooking ware which can be very bad for your health. I don't know how it can affect the taste but it seems illogical to me that it gives a better taste than glass...

And why in the world do you have 5 miniVAPs??? O_o Did you not have enough with one?

First, overvape had a couple negatives that are not relevant for my use and one i found the opposite:
1. they said whispy vapor unless you used the Flexicone. NA for me as I would never want to use without the Flexi as it is amazing and practical. Load directly in the chamber---why as that makes chamber dirty and loading/unloading a hassle? and as @ataxian would say, the Flexicone is civilized--the chamber is not :)
2. they said Flexi get dirty and need replacing. I've use d my original 3 Flexis for over 1,000 loads and they are still fine/ do not need replacing. They get a medium colored patina like a fine piece of wood or a Meerschaum pipe but they last almost forever :)

GLASS VS TEFLON:
Teflon has maximum true flavor as glass gets hot hot hot and adds conduction heat that bakes the herb along with the hot air (convection) flowing thru the herbage. Teflon holds much less heat so vapor is created by nearly pure convection.
Note that they make a stainless?? chamber insert for teflon so you can have the option of upping the conduction portion without having a dedicated/permanent glass miniVAP.
Teflon at these temps is very safe.

Why 5 miniVAPS? That's a long story as I overdid it a little:
I wanted to be sure I was never without and to have new units for "vaporizer testing parties" if our backwards state ever goes legal.

They asked me for both my minivaps back. So I'd be without a vaporizer.
I'm asking to only send 1 back, but that's another couple of days of back and forth. Luckily, one of mine works, it's only being sent back for an upgrade. I was going to get another rminivap, but I'm thinking of getting the newvape flowerpot twax.

I currently use my minivap with a matrix hydrotube from dhgate, it is amazing.

Of course given @stickstones told me about this, I'd go with his recommendation. I trust his recommendation utmost on vapes. If you can afford a minivap (or 5 =D) you should definitely have one.

Yes, I'm just testing with a mistvape stem (with the basket on the opposite end) inserted in my old teflon core heated at max (didn't remember it was so long to heat up in comparison with the QGC I lately used).... and yes, it works admirably well and it improves the taste a lot!

But this is a 2 hands operation for me since the stem doesn't fit tight in the Minivap's heater.

I thought the silicon nipple was something essential in the Minivap in order to restrict the airflow (but it looks like the airflow is restricted similarly with or without silicon nipple) and in order to keep the heat concentrated in a small area. But after my morning test I think the silicon nipple is not needed at all and will think about a way to remove it even with the ctop lid on.

Although I can notice a difference about the abv color.... for sure.

I use a solo OG stem as well as a solo water attachment and the F-Bomb (I use it dry on Purple and Green). I heat soak the MV on Purple, Load up the stem and insert it into the Minivap. Purple heat setting tastes amazing especially without water, nice clouds and great taste. Love the signature of this vape when used this way!
