My ideal basket size would be right between the 2 sizes too. I'm about ready to order some Q baskets but wondered if anyone happens to have a side by side photo of the baskets? Are they almost exactly the diameter of the MV baskets or would more air flow around the sides of the Q basket

Sorry about the blurry pic.. Phones camera is scratched!

Speaking of different baskets, has anyone tried using the top to an ELB for the Cloud EVO? I noticed a while back that it fits in the flexicone, but never got around to trying it out.
Is the email address still sales@minivap.com? I sent two emails to Hermes last week, neither of which has been acknowledged.
I think they've been a little slammed this past week. You might also try info@minivape.com info@minivap.com.

Seems like an oversight that they don't have their mail server set up to send out auto-acknowledgement emails. "Thanks for your email. Here is your Support Ticket number: xxxx. We aim to respond to your queries within 72 hrs." It's a small script which I'm sure someone on site has the technical ability to write.

If I was a MV owner with a failed unit, I'd probably be a little miffed at their week-long silence. As it happens, I was asking questions about buying one, and their lack of response doesn't make me more confident about proceeding with the purchase.

^^^^^That's how I feel about the Herbie!!

So I was finally able to demo the teflon core MV courtesy of my brotha from anotha mutha @lazylathe!

WOW! I surely knew that everyone wasn't lying when they said this vape is a TASTE BOMB! I was NOT let down! I have never tasted vapour like this before, quite herby is a good description, with much flavour nuances. It tasted different...I noticed some of this with the Crafy I had the pleasure of sampling as well. This herby taste is something i've never experienced before! The MV had such incredible flavour nuances, it was really something else.

I found the best results by hitting it as hard as I could, but then was floored by the clouds and I actually coughed alot with this one. Perhaps it's my sensitivity to ground bud, as I have been vaping pretty much exclusively whole nugs as of late. I couldn't believe how medicated this thing got me! It too felt different!! Very intense, but clean and functional....i'm not sure how much was due to the slightly contricted airflow, and my propensity to take monstrous hits of glutiny and thus depriving my brain o2, or the instant face punch power of the MV!

Love the MV form factor...very solid, and hefty, yet light enough to invert no problem. I'm still feeling its effects!!! Thanks again @lazylathe for the priveledge of letting me demo it! Good times!

I can get that "omg, I'm close to passing out" feeling hitting a large basket on straight from green.. I'm a fit guy and so can say it's not really to do with lack of oxygen.. It's just such a dose of goodies in one hit.
A lot of the time I'll get up to go open a window to blow out the cloud though, so, could be the power of the MV coupled with getting up too quickly.
It's a pretty surreal feeling though for sure!
Glad you liked it!

By way love decarb kit. I kind of think loading chamber would make it work better using a pollen basket prob doesn't heat it as much. But I can Def tell there little thicker an bigger.

I've been using a puff style inhale with my MV with huge clouds! About three to four second puffs till lungs are full. Each person will differ. I've never seen this type of performance out of my MV! Clouds on lowest setting and coughing fits on red.

On my third large basket, watching ufc with the MV. Cheers

I utilise that method when dry hitting..
Speaking of which..
3j3Vmd8.jpg

The cyclone bowl from the EQ is a quick easy(if a little larger bore than my other dry options) to use, as well as being able to make a fairly firmly fitting straw.
I'd trimmed the silicone sleeve, but since the dimensions allow for a tightish fit the silicone sleeve of the tough cyclone has some light kinda adherence to the MVs own silicone part.
Does in a pinch but i still prefer a narrower pathway.

I'm having real problems with this vape.

TL;DR:
our heater appears to have failed, never getting hot enough to produce any clouds at all, even on red. Common issue? Worth getting replaced, or just giving up on the entire brand?

Long version:

Got it about 6 weeks ago and have had to get used to slightly different techniques to using the PnP, and my wife has never really been convinced by it (she swears she's never got as medicated by any vape at all as she does when she combusts a roll-up, and I'm inclined to agree in part) but I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Firstly, the battery hardly ever connects properly when you put it on the charging plate. Apprently the contacts on the battery base are misaligned and I can get a free replacement battery from Vapefiend, but haven't taken that offer up yet. But it seemed sloppy on a £409 product!!! (£409! I still can't get over that price tag!)

But the big problem is the heater just seems to have failed after only 6 weeks. For the last 24 hours it simply refuses to get hotter than what feels like sub-blue temps, no matter what setting it's on. We aren't getting any cloud at all, just a hint of flavour. And where usually I'd feel the heater part of the unit getting warmer as we turn it up, it's barely warm to the touch no matter what setting it's on.

For £409?! Not impressed. :(

FWIW I have what looks like one of the teflon units as it has a white plastic tube I can pull out of the heating chamber.

Has anyone else had this heater problem? Is it a well known issue? Is it worth getting another and hoping for the best? I'm for getting my money back if I can, frankly.

From what I've read on this thread over the years, a failed core seems fairly common. For the price, I would definitely contact @VapeFiend.com and start the returns process for a fully functioning unit. I hear his customer service is way better than going through Hermes (due to his quick response time). While it's still under warranty, I certainly wouldn't give up on it.

The most common complaint I've seen here is the failure rate of the units. That said, I can't think of too many MV owners who have given up on a functioning unit. If you can handle the bumpy road to a working MV, I'm told it's totally worth the wait - see @Roger D's reference to riding a unicorn a few pages back.

Let us know what you decide to do.

I can totally understand the frustration but give it one more try (exchange with your retailer). Maybe your experience will change when you get to use a properly working mv. The current problem I'm facing is I can't get to the red setting. My green goes solid, but when I push it to red for water, I only get blinking red light. Any suggestions?

Plug it into the outlet directly.
..So use the base, not the battery.

Let it heat up at least one full cycle, mine mostly would only go solid age restating it after the time out.

Another trick... Put it to red then turn it down to green After few minutes. This will shorten time to reach solid green.

But yeah, would not see it as a faulty unit, certainly not if it keeps on producing clouds, which it should, even in green setting....

I've noticed if I ever hit my unit inbetween heat settings, while warming from green to red for example, it seems to never reach temp. My unit likes to have the solid light before any hitting. Jme

Once warm though my unit reachs temps fairly quickly. From cold to red takes mine a little over 8 minutes.

I need to buy the puck, since I will be vaping mostly at home. It is definitely working fine. Green produces enough clouds for me and the taste is still great. I remember watching roger d's videos and were blown away by the clouds he got. Mine is not on that level, but one step lower. My minivap (even without the solid red) is still my favorite vape.
