Thank you for sharing your photos ! Can you please tell us how this vape works and what its name is ?
Yes, it's the Eagle Bill Shake and Vape. It's the OG portable vape as far as I know (it's a purpose-made lightbulb vape). You tip it so the herbs fall to the rounded wall and then you heat the flat bottom (using an intuitive, second-counting method, usually). When you tip it back to the horizontal, the heated bottom will start baking the herbs and as the vapor rises you sip it off through the tube while you shake the herbs around to keep them vaping evenly and from burning. It takes a little playing but it's super simple and fun.

Not the main subject of your pic, but I do get a little envious every time I see that Element table vape (the Wunderlampe?) of yours. She must be a treat to use. Do you know if they're still being manuafactured in any capacity? Would love to have one on my desk one day.

And how are you finding the Convector XL? I've been loving mine, the bowl on that thing is enormous compared to the OG lol. What is your method for heating it? I don't have an inductor (as of yet!) so I've been using the Wand mostly with the odd torch heat-up. I find the Wand doesn't cook my weed as evenly as I'd like. There's always a dark ring around the bowl at the end of a session, and the vapour can get a bit rough.

It's awesome. : ) It seemed like a number of people were able to purchase them over the past year or two. I think Rene builds them out as or if he can.

Ah! I have not tried the wand. Good info. I occasionally torch it but I haven't really got a great method yet. I should probably work it out with the Firefox. I think it's my favorite vape with the Inductor it's so easy and effective. And you're right about that bowl! I think the difference in part is just it's probably not as efficient to radiate the heat through all the herbs as with the wand, where the Inductor can heat the entire top evenly and you just pull that heat thru, as much as you want.

Definitely sounds like it's far better tuned for the Inductor, which makes sense given its ability to the heat the tip from the top.

What you're saying raises a good point about the Wand I hadn't really considered - because the XL's bowl is wider and 'shallower', the conductive heat from the sides (inevitable when using a traditional induction heater) is only cooking the edges of the weed and little else. This didn't happen with the original Convector as the bowl was smaller and narrower.

Regardless, the real intention is to heat the thermal mass (matrix?) on top of the bowl, so you can pull heat through like you said. The Wand's method of heating is kind of antithetical to this - the added conduction you get from the Wand is the opposite of what you want with this vape... Otherwise they'd have named it the Conductor 😂

Guess I'll just stick to the torch!

My first foray into vaporising cannabis was with a home made lightbulb vape just like that article! We're going back about 20 years too lol. It wasn't great tbh, but it did open my eyes.
I had heard of them but hot knives was as far as we got. I also had seen a jar vape in a HighTimes in like the 70s I believe, and was totally intrigued. Someone was around hear a year or so ago with a new, computerized one, too, the JarHead. @Custom Flower Hardware got one and said it kicks ass.

Where would the world of vaping be without TVape to guide us on unwise purchases? I still read their name as TV-Ape, which conjures a very memorable visual image, for me at least

What's funny is one of the OG early herbal vaporizers to work well enough for us was actually called the tvape, no affiliation with the one above, I think it was originally designed for tobacco and cigarettes it was really high-powered conduction that could extract large amounts very quickly (unfortunately combusting with the large module too lol) theoretically not supposed to be a manual vape, but it actually really was, semi-automatic manual hybrid maybe?

Oi! Something came from a land down under...the VerdaVap! Since it came with a variety customary delights I feel no shame in also using my Gatorbeug, here in the outback swelter. (It also came with a second, more open cap. Very nice!)

It's a beautiful little vape, very nicely put together, and absolutely functional! It's a little ripper, I'm high as a koala over here!

It also fits the TA1-sized ScruffyWoofers cooling stand, a good thing--this one gets hot! I don't have a lot to say yet, but it's a bonzer effort for sure!

Edit: The open airflow cap is even less restricted than the TA1, so it should run recyclers well. It's great with the Influx, for sure.

Edit 2: It works with the Camouflet Inductor. I just kind of stumbled through my first attempt and with a few short reheats it worked fine, flavor stayed pretty nice. I think I will be a little more aggressive next time. It's probably better to get it good and heated the first time so there's less overall energy poured into it, the entire body gets fairly hot with extended sessions and reheatings. I've also gotten good results using a Firefox with a little bit longer blasting time, maybe 35 seconds?

The Piro is so special. It's so easy to use and goes from light sipping to lungbusters with a simple adjustment of angle. It's like the perfect brick vape. I hold it in the same esteem as the Lotus or Vapman. Truly a great vape, and delightful stuffed with White Widow on a way-too-hot summer morning. Cheers!
