Discontinued Lily vaporizer by Triihouse

Would love to try this wood vape, but I've always avoided butane even when I use to smoke. Any workaround out there? I'm sure matches wouldn't do the trick.

The torch style butane lighters are purportedly safe, there is a video on this subject by Triihouse on their website. I can verify that I get no butane taste from flame byproduct when using one with my Daisy.

But if you are just totally against using a butane torch, then this is not the right vape for you.

What makes the stainless mouthpiece so bad is that it is made from thin steel where the thin edges touch the lips making it feel very cheap and uncomfortable. The glass mouthpiece is much better than the steel but still could use some improvements as far as comfort goes. A comfortable mouthpiece will improve the Lily by a good measure. After all the mouthpiece is the interface to the instrument. :2c:

Can't wait to see what Ed produces. @steama - did you give him any guidelines or have ideas on how to improve the design? Would you want the mouth flared out more for comfort? Although it still has to stay smallish and not be wider than the Lily's body, i'm sure. Do you think wood risks getting stuck in the Lily if it expands due to heat?

She's here and she's beautiful. Though she arrived sans the glass mouthpiece I did order the SS which was in the box. Hope I like the steel more then @steama does since It'll have to do for now.

Brenna is making it right with no problems so all's good, going out now for my first bowl.

EDIT with my review one bowl in is it's ... "FUCKING AWESOME".

Your patience is very impressive.I'd be knocking doors down trying to locate my package. You my friend deserve a prize.Hope it all plays out soon.
Lol thanks man. Campus Housing is so slow at sorting packages and emailing the residents to pick them up. They can take days sometimes, but 90% of the time you're able to get it same day. My Lily has been here for 6 hours already :|

I hope they update this with more info on how to use the three carb holes correctly, but I'll just experiment myself in the meanwhile.

From my few bowls (the instructions say to only cover the screen) and experimenting with carb holes, I'd compare it to no carb holes for low, the front for medium, and the two side ones for cough your guts out. Aiming the flame into the glass tube is challenging. I'm going by sound, because it's difficult for me to see it. I'll try different angles. I'm sure nighttime will be easier to see, but I'm a morning, throughout the day, and evening person.

ok i can't be the only one... but blasted from just a few toots from a new vape? this thing is super awesome. it's like a vape one hitter but i get so much from one load. got my lovely maple lily today. @steama i quite like the SS sucky tuby thingy. imo i like the look and feel of the SS. different schmokes i guess. right away my 1st impression and thoughts is/are i love how lily uses different set of senses to guide you. with daisy, for me at least, much visual, with lily i'm employing none visual. and i likey. i can see me losing one of these o ringy dealies though. and the bit with the torch ends up being an auditory cue that i'm hittn the hole with fire. and still haven't gone hardly dark at all yet. let's go do that right now ;)

Yep, got to experiment.

I guess you could call them carb holes. I found I got the fine performance when I just ignored them altogether. My guess is the holes are there to condition the vapor. Lily packs quite a punch. To me thick Lily vapor is kind of peppery which I like.

With the extra carb hole it's a howan:

Well, damn, my glass heat port developed a crack just from the heat of the lighter. I haven't dropped it or even fooled with it.

Mine arrived today and I just opened it. This is going to take me a while to figure out.
Ok I'm stumped. I have the worst visual spatial ability. I have the instructions and still don't get it. This is like one of those wood puzzles that I never could get.
Can someone take pictures of putting this together step by step in more detail than the instructions?
Or I can send mine to Ed if one hasn't gone out yet since I won't be able to use it until there's a video or something more specific.

It only took 30 minutes of staring at the pictures and directions to get it together. Now I need instructions about changing the temp on the lighter.
One surprise about the Lily is that I've been concerned about harshness. I didn't find it especially harsh. Much milder than the MFLB.

I have been worried about that. Anyone that has used glass knows about heat fatigue. I am going to pick-up a couple extra little glass periscopes from triihouse.

I wonder if the flame tube could be made out of copper or would it conduct heat too much?

Copper has 400 times the heat transfer then glass. Stainless has 16 times the heat transfer then glass.

Ideally you don't want any heat transferred, it takes away from the heat for vaporizing.

On the other hand glass transfers roughly ten times more heat then wood

Obviously a wood intake could burn...
