Discontinued Lily vaporizer by Triihouse

Not many people have a Lily yet and there have been several reports of cracked flame periscopes. Just going by the evidence.

My bet is this part if left as glass it will be an on going problem. I hope not I bought one too. I wish them luck of course. :peace:

i'm hoping the glass thing is not widespread, but when it happens it may be a small but rather inconvenient issue for international orders. i hope Trii can work out a long term solution, or i'm just praying that it was a couple of inconsistent pieces.

is there anywhere i can order this with a bunch of accessories and not have the shipping come out to 47 dollars? I don't mind spending money, but not that much when I know damn well it's not going to cost that much to ship.

want to add a screen pack for 2 bucks? np, but it's also going to add 2 bucks to your total shipping charge as well. :( add one of each accessory and 4x each type of screen and that's one hefty shipping charge.

I don't care, I just fired up Lily again. :mmmm: What crack? Crack is whack.
You're a braver man than I am. Once the crack developed, it was placed back in its tin. I know a replacement part is on the way; but I, too, am concerned about this occurring again. Portability isn't an issue. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably get the Daisy. I liked the idea of pointing the flame sideways instead of having to point down the vertical tube on the Daisy. While waiting for my replacement glass piece and my replacement MFLB, I'm glad I have other toys to play with.

I know from firsthand experience that problems can occur when new products are released. That's why there are beta testers. I am one. Sadly, it's for software and hardware, not vapes. A piece of equipment promised to me in October/November still hasn't been delivered because of problems that occurred in the transition from prototype to production.

Thanks to Tommy and Brenna for their beautiful products, their customer service, and their dedication to ensuring a pleasant, crack-free experience for future customers.

Dang it. I didn't think i would have my eye on another new vape so Soon. I will have to look into this one.
hey dude! not seen you in a long time! the daisy is one hell of a vape! nice to see you are also interested in this one! me too!

Why has it not been a problem with Daisy? Probably just a couple bad pieces. Imo

I think steama nailed it in an earlier post.

tldr; thinner flange where the heat intake port is on the Lily, compared to that of the Daisy.

I agree with him, that a thicker, more rounded flange would likely resolve the issue.

PS. I prefer the idea of sticking with glass over steel.

When I was a kid I loved Evel Knieval so I guess I'm sometimes a daredevil.

Not sure what you're cracked port looks like but mine seems nothing to be concerned about for continued use, I do not believe it will explode or pop into shards, I would be more concerned with enlarging the crack until airflow is compromised. So I will use mine until it inhibits function.

I have been eliminating morning sessions to save material, but Lily produces so much out of so little, I caved and put the torch to her again this am. I just couldn't help myself. :disgust: Made my morning shower nice though.

Good morning everybody!

Tommy and I have been hashing out glass solutions. We have a couple of ideas and we will be doing some testing.

I was wondering if those couple of pieces happen to have been cut at a different temperature or perhaps cooled as a different or even temperature that would cause the crack.

Either way you know Triihouse is dedicated to both our products and our consumers. We believe in making a product that just doesn't just work, but works well.

My guess is the flaw is created when you do the cut. The flame polish helps "seal" this but on a SMALL % of pieces the heat of the torch during use will exacerbate this and cause a visible crack to show. Its a simple idea really, not sure why there is so much resistance to it.

The flare is too flat and too thin to handle the thermal punishment from the torch.
I would believe this if all, or even a lot of, the pieces were cracking, but chances are they aren't.
You need more mass at the flare. A thick rounded flare of glass rather than a flat thin flare.
This might fix the problem but I still disagree with your premise that this is happening a lot and exclusively due to heat fatigue from the torch. There is simply no way you can "know" this without proprietary information from Triihouse.

@weedemon Nice to see all the og's still as passionate as ever.

I got that fever again, and would love to review and try the daisy and the lily for my off the grid alternatives to the supreme. I love the idea of no heat sink or flame filter, and they both seem to be well engineered.

I think with this vape the answer is somewhere in the middle with you two. What t-dub is saying is right on the money and I have said that many times myself on this forum. But steama is correct that this vape was just released and they haven't had the time to produce many of them. In addition, most of their market at the moment is on this forum. I can't think they have more than 20 to 50 units out there. If two have been reported broken I would guess that's anywhere between a 4% and 10% failure rate. That entire range is higher than acceptable.

But all of that is typed with the understanding that I have no real numbers in my hand!

Even 2 out of 50 is anecdotal and not statistically significant enough to make assumptions about QC, but yeah, it could trend. I personally think it's a bit early for us to get our panties all bunched up in a knot over.

That said, the periscope does feel siginificantly lighter than the other Triihouse glass parts. Plus you tend to assemble the Lily glass more than you would on the Daisy adding multiple opportunities to mishandle the peices and potentially cause breakage. So I'd be down for some thicker glass.

Maybe you should get your custom glass made into the form of a Lily flower Steama.

I also concur with others who suggest keeping extra O-rings on hand. I've managed to drop them on my floor and their small enough that their missing is easy to go unnoticed....being a portable, it'd be really easy to lose those parts in the field. Maybe stow them in the periscope compartment. They're cheap enough, so just get extras, problem solved.

I was lovin' the lily with the SS stem, Just received my glass stem and it feels even better(performs the same) so much nicer on my lips then the steel one.

Maybe stow them in the periscope
compartment.

I got a set of extra o-rings with the stem, i did sorta what your suggesting right away, put the 2 extras On the periscope + 2 extras stowed On the mouthpiece, that way I know where they are at all times.

:peace: ...

Edit; I did fold one of the little ziplock bags with screens and shoved it into the top of periscope compartment and it stays put and Lily still closes tight, seems It will hold 'em and o-rings with no problem. We'll see if they become a problem and fall out while opening to stir but for now they seem snug. Great idea @basement farmer.

Mine's not tight either but has so little play once the top is on I don't see it being a problem(yet at least).

In my Lily the glass periscope is very loose in the round stow hole compartment and just falls right out. It seems strange to me that this hole does not hold the periscope tightly enough to keep it from falling out? Seems like a mistake or maybe it's just my unit? Anyway, I ended up using a piece of paper towel around the periscope base and then insert it in the stow hole and it is nice and tight. It is kind of ghetto looking but at least it works.

Anyone else have one like mine?

Yup, in my Pictures post on Page 19, I mention this and sent Tommy an email suggesting he make the storage hole more like the external one so that the o-ring could hold it in place.

I thought that was one of the changes that was made that delayed initial deliveries. I remember reading that that space was made larger.

No, the original design had the opening in the top kind of jaggy with three round drill holes, the new design has the jags taken out for a rounder hole - see Tommy's pics on the first post on pg 1.

Usually the onset of middle age, and a misguided belief in the rhetoric about taxes and immigration... :-)

Anyway, my Lily is still in customs, awaiting judgment about charges. At this point, I'm not even convinced it exists any more. It's vaporware! :-)

Edit: parcel force's delivery service is called Express 24. Yeah, it's a 24hr delivery service, it's just that none of those hours are consecutive :-)

Both the Lily and the Daisy give me a Dr. Seuss feeling to their design. Big fan of Dr. Seuss and Triihouse vapes. In fact not many things go as well with a Dr. Seuss book as a Lily session before and after. :D

This is my 5 yrs old son's favorite :brow:
I will try story telling my son after lily session when I receive it.
But I kind of get stoned already by just looking at his style of drawing.

My lily is still is still in customs though...... sigh.....

Playing catch up on this thread.

I wonder if the periscope stems that are breaking are a part of a bad batch of glass?

There has been no issues with the beta tester devices that I'm aware of has there?

Some people have had these since around xmas.

Wow, that is so fucking clever! Thanks for the great idea. I can see the glass Lily petals falling back onto the flame periscope in my minds eye. Man, that would look so sweet. Wait! What about the Daisy — too cool. :D

We'll need pictures when you do it.
