I contacted 7th floor about my LSV falling apart after just a few years and having to repair it about 10 times in the few years I had it and haven't heard back.
For those that had the LSV and used it daily for 4 years or so, have you also had the wire insulation break where it enters the body (I do have the one with the strain relief)? The wire probably cracked about 10 times at that location. In addition I had the metal plate that holds the heating element break free from the body but steel epoxy has fixed that. My heating element again became loose/wobbly so I thought my epoxy broke free after 2 years but when I checked the glue is still rock solid and the plate isn't moving, it's now the heating element that moves freely inside the metal plate where it enters the body and this seems unfixable. I checked all 3 screws at the base and they all seem tight.
This vape looked rock solid but is quite fragile despite its appearance. Have others had similar issues after a few years of daily use?
I was actually considering getting a Da Buddha as a temporary/backup vape but with the manufacturer not responding and the poor durability of their products I'm not sure I would get another 7th floor vape.
I'm already decided on going back to the Volcano as I know it will last for decades as I've had one for many many years before and I don't want to end up with another $250 vape that will break in a few years. If you consider durability, the Volcano costs a lot less than the LSV as it may be 3 times the price but will without a doubt last way more than 3 times longer.
The cord insulation breakages have been well documented in this thread some time ago. 7th Floor came out with a 'fix' that had a strain relief on the place where the cord enters the unit. Today's units should have that standard. It works, but isn't foolproof, as we've had members report cord failures with those as well. At the end of the day, those of us here who use this unit acknowledge that the cord needs to be pampered at the point of entry.
One of the beauties of this company's products is they are cheap to fix...considerably more than getting a new vape.
I'm not certain from your posts, but have you ever had it serviced by 7th Floor? I see you've tried to contact them, but has anything ever come of it in the years you've had your unit?
