Sometimes yes sometimes no. I've had different batches from the same supplier with different lengths on the ground tapered part. Plus the ground vs polished ones are a tad different as well. I try to leave enough clearance on all of my pieces so whether short or long they all fit.

Don't quote me on this, but IIRC the different lengths of 18.8mm joints themselves are:

US 22mm (19/22)
ISO (Euro) 26mm (19/26)

This is just the length of the ground joint itself (or polished joint), not the whole stem, adapter, whatever. A small difference, but can be needed depending on what you're using it with. From reports I've seen here on FC, Zion seems to prefer the shorter US (19/22) joints so the bottom of the joint doesn't hit the screen at the bottom of the chamber.

Pretty sure the slope of the sides are exactly the same. So, if you cut the last 4mm of an ISO joint you have a US joint. If you have the necessary 4mm clearance at the bottom of the female joint you're connecting to, it wouldn't matter which.

Hope this makes sense. I know what I mean, but hope all get the gist of it.

Now, I have been trying to sketch an idea that I would have to have, and I believe can be done. But my art is bad.

Based on that awesome steamroller, but altered to allow the (larger) mouthpiece to hold ice. The tube straight down from that would be detachable, so you can collect the melted ice and not drip, then remove it to dump. Instead of the connection going down, it goes up & loops back down to the connection. Above the removable drain would be an equal (or slightly shorter) tube for the carb. This would be below the loop and angled down so that if someone got so blown out that they fall asleep, even if all the ice melts it will have a natural draining point below where it ever gets close to any equipment.

Does anybody get what I mean?
