JCVAP "Pockety"

Well, I got the replacement xxl heater in. It felt sturdier than my last one, which I think may have gotten damaged somewhere in the shipping. I screwed it place, and everything on the Pockety came up fine. I went to heat it for a burnoff cycle just at my usual temp of 550 f, and the temperature reader started acting funny; it heated the atomizer INCREDIBLY hot, but it thought it was only about 300 degrees. I turned it off and let everything cool. I check the screws; they were fine. I check the pins on the bottom of the heater; they were fine. I screwed it back on, and then I got that error where it can't read the atomizer and it gives you an error message saying Sensor Error if you try to heat it. I took it off and thought the connectors on the main body of the device were dirty, so I got a q-tip and some isopropyl alcohol and cleaned 'em; a little bit of something had coated 'em from the sessions I was able to get with this thing. I put the atomizer back on, and lo and behold, there error message is still there.

I think I'm done with this thing. This is the second replacement heater I've gotten for this thing, and it doesn't want to work, either. I thankfully didn't pay anything for this second one (I did for the first because I broke my first heater like a moron), and their customer service seemed really attentive, but if their quality is so slapshot, I'm not inclined to keep using them. I thankfully went on and ordered a banger that ought to be arriving tomorrow, and I think I'll go on and get a coil and some other shit to go with that. It's a shame; I really liked using it while it worked.

tl;dr: This thing ain't worth the money, unfortunately, because of poor quality control.

EDIT: Just to lick my calf over, I removed the heater and put it back in. I don't get the error message anymore, but it's very clearly not reading the temperature right. The highest the readout will get to is about 230 degrees f, and if you touch the rubber around the atomizer, it's very clearly being heated to far, far beyond that.
In my honest opinion, many devices in the market have qc problems. You can see on reddit lots and lots of people having QC issues with the focus v carta 2 aswell, which is 3 times the cost of this device. Atleast jcvap seems like a company with decent CS and wont make you do 3 weeks of back and forth to get a brand new device returned. Even puffco has QC problems.

Got my pockety yesterday, me and my friend did 20 seshs off it and both really enjoyed it. It has a nice weight to it at 400g, the quartz bucket is easy to clean and the temp control is nice. It does hit a bit lower that what you set it seems (compared to a carta 2) but the vapor is amazing quality and super smooth.
The only thing I have to compare it to is a yocan orbit, and it is much much better.
Seems like they often have 15% sitewide sales which stack with 15% codes pkty15 or Cewpins. (Which cewpins on youtube is doing a review soon once he gets enough usage out of it)

Has anyone tried the belle recycler? Wondering how it is. I have the straight fab already, which was a big improvement over stock glass. I don't think I've seen any reports on the recycler yet.

I have it. I think it is cooler hitting than the straight fab. It is also harder to get off and on. And more difficult to clean.

I used a Core 2.0 with the v5? heater and a lightning pen prior to getting a pockety, both were ok for their use cases, i did find my friends core to drain battery pretty quick. It delivered decent little hits but it just didnt satisfy me and took a bit of work with the carb cap. I didnt like the setup and opted to try the pockety. I prefer the pockety/peak style glass, atomizers and carb cap design. The pockety cycles also run a fair bit shorter in time than the core iirc and i feel like the pockety vapes a bit more aggressively and heats up faster for sure.

Full temp control on the pockety is much nicer i think, and the ability to adjust presets is very handy for switching between different concentrates. Allows you to really be able to dial it in to your tastes.
Anyone else come from using a core? Having trouble getting mine to heat my dabs properly w/o needing to really get it preheated. Thinking of pulling the trigger on a Pockety w/aln and the 5dxxl ica

Also, any real need to grab the xxl vs the stock 5d chamber? Would the regular size chamber be better for small to medium sized dabs?

Will puffco peak glass fit on the Pockety?
No.

I like the small chambers when having smaller dabs with RUBY,ALN,SiC(in that order) but mine have the OG bottom plate heater. That said, I usually opt for my Peak Pro2 with xl chamber...that intensity mode rocks.:o
So I would say, get the XXL as well for when the extra oomph is needed/wanted.

Cool, thanks I'll do that. I'm grabbing the diamondium edition which has only the stock chamber. Sucks they don't have more inserts available for the XXL. Another thing, do you prefer the straight fab or the recycler? Or do you use a different setup via the whip?

I only have the OG glass and the whip/adapter. I like using the OG with the Puffco Silicone Travel witches hat for the almost 90 degree bend it offers for ease of use when seated. I did hear the straight fab is pretty good.

Gotcha! Just to clarify, Puffco's 3DXL is equivalent to JCVap's 5DXXL in terms of size? That sorta confused me but now I think I understand.

I think jcvap might just be a tiny bit bigger from memory or just about identical.
Think I saw people saying it may be slightly larger reading through here. Does the chamber jacket that comes with the Peak pro travel pack fit the stock pockety chamber?

Finally pulled the trigger on something (VNAS is a mother) quartz Pockety coming my way. Thanks Soothing Vapours, FC, Troy and Jerry. Breaking out of my single device mode I've been in now for years (dV + IH), and getting saucey.
