That's very kind! Sometimes when I'm high I look at houses in France on real estate websites. Now, I'm sure all of these houses are in the middle of nowhere. And I'm sure the maintenance costs are atrocious. But they're incredibly beautiful homes that cost less than a down payment in any major metro area in the United States.

I'm not even universally anti-tariff if they're implemented intelligently. But Trump's tariffs are extremely stupid. So far as I can tell, the only goal is to replace the Federal income tax with a de facto national sales tax. A regressive move that shifts the tax burden from the wealthy to the poor.

We also say this in America. Maybe it's exaggerated, but Paris started burning when there was a proposal to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64. In America, the retirement age is 65 and we sit back like cattle as the government muses cutting Social Security all together.
