I never owned property on the Floriduh coast, so I was totally unaware of this. But most Florida home insurance is socialized. Literally government socialism. A government owned insurance scheme known as the Citizens Property Insurance Corporation.

Florida is the most Anti-Communist State in the Union. I love that we can't have any sort of socialized health insurance to prevent citizens in the wealthiest nation on earth from dying from easily treatable diseases. But we'll do tons of fucking communism to allow people to live on land that God and Nature has deemed unfit for human habitation. Amazing.

But Florida has to do this. Besides tourism, the only other industry here is Real Estate scams. And it's always been this way. That's why "I've got swampland in Floriduh to sell you" has always been a pun.

Look at this stupidity:

CC_Aerial.jpg

They built this nonsense in a place that was certain to get its shit cooked by a hurricane. None of that property can survive even a modest storm. But property owners and developers expect the gubernment to bail them out with communism when the inevitable happens.

This video is about 20 minutes long but is an amazing overview of Floridian Lore/History.

I live in Florida and years ago, after getting hit by a tornado, there were many roofing companies cold calling the neighborhood. Each promised I would get a new roof that would cost me nothing. I did my homework and selected a "local" roofing company instead that had a reputation for honesty when dealing with the insurance company and customers. The roofing company came and took a look at my roof and said there wasn't enough damage to require insurance to pay for a complete roof replacement and they gave me an estimate to fix the roof which I took them up on. In the meantime .... every time I left my house I marveled at how many of my neighbors were getting new roofs with less damage than I had.

Karma can be a bitch.....one of my neighbor's signed away their insurance rights to the roof replacement when they were told by a scam roofer that they didn't have enough damage for insurance to cover the replacement but they could make it happen and that they wouldn't even have to pay the deductible. When my neighbor's roof had issues under warranty the scam roofer couldn't be found AND they found out that they lost over a thousand dollars that the insurance company would have paid them to do some simple painting work themselves for in-home damage THAT WOULD HAVE MORE THAN PAID THE DEDUCTIBLE.

I eventually got a new roof after a hurricane did some more damage. I used the honest local roofing company AFTER getting an estimate and having my insurance company inspect the roof, review the estimate and work with me. I also was given the opportunity to do some of the light in-home patches/painting for a reasonable fee that covered the deductible plus a couple dollars more. Once again I marveled at how almost every roof in my neighborhood will have been replaced.

Fast forward to now....another neighbor who wasn't willing to play the replacement game was hit with a sizeable insurance bill increase because his roof was so old. He paid to have his roof replaced so he could get insurance.

This is not just a Florida issue. The federally subsidized National Flood Insurance Program has been bailing folks out for many decades. Your McMansion on Dune Road in the Hamptons was swept out to sea? No problem!

Dude, Florida has to be the roofing scam capital of the world. I've heard about a dozen horror stories.

I think the difference in FL is that if you're within a certain number of miles from the coast, private insurers won't touch you. So the only option for any sort of home insurance is the Communist State run plan. And most of Florida's population is on the coasts.

Very funny that this includes the Cuban exile community. They are vehemently against any politician who advocates for Medicare expansion. Because that would lead to full communism. Unlike their socialized homeowners insurance.

After the tornado and hurricanes came through I must have had around 5+ cold calls each time promising they could get my roof replaced at no cost to me regardless of whether my roof was damaged enough. Each one required I sign away my rights to whatever the insurance company would pay with a promise I wouldn't have to even pay the deductible. Signing away my rights to anything isn't likely but the whole "whether my roof qualifies or not" promise was enough to show them the door. If they're that dishonest why would I think they'll do right be me?

One of the cold calls was done by a very nice looking woman in a tight leather pants suit. Right after the pitch about getting the roof replaced at no cost I asked her to just give me an estimate because something this costly requires a couple estimates before I select a company and then I'll get with my insurance like normal and she said "this deal is only good for today". That "good for today" thing is a trigger for me so I asked her to leave. My wife asked if I liked the leather outfit. I said "Yeah, but not nearly enough". My wife started talking to me again right around when the roof was completed :o

I guess W.C. Fields was right when he said "You can't cheat an honest man."

Only Musk dickriders with the smoothest of brains will believe that "Blue Haired Leftists" are buying tickets for a Chapelle show in 2022. This is really pathetic.

Very funny that the guy who made it to the top of our economic system is such a sad, small man.

Net Gain from Fusion!

I didn't pay attention very closely to this story. It seems like fusion has been 10-15 years away for the past 60 years. And even with this breakthrough, we're probably still decades away from a fusion power plant. But this proof of concept pretty much means it's inevitable. We will eventually have abundant, clean energy.

Plus... there may be another breakthrough that may accelerate the timeline. This is also a good reminder that basically every comfort we have in our modern life can be traced back to research done by governments or public universities.

So the world's saddest man changed his story about getting booed off stage. Here's the original explanation:

Fj07lj_XoAAYR8X

He had to delete this after it was pointed out that woke snowflakes aren't paying to see Chappelle in 2022. Then he tried this:

Fj07lj6XkAAAHO8

Apartheid Clyde had to delete this one as well after enough video of his humiliation emerged to show he was lying. Not a very good week for this dude.

Now the richest guy in the world is a French dude named Bernard Arnault. He's automatically better than Musk because I've never heard of him. Out of curiosity, I looked up how he got his start. You'll be shocked to learn it wasn't by pulling on his bootstraps, but rather an eight figure check from his daddy.

I remember, 60 years ago at 11-12 yrs old I was impressed that in school they were saying it was not close, it would come in 2020-2030 time frame. I really wondered how they could 'pinpoint' like that. 🤔

Still at least 10 years before some viable build. But I believe something like the Moonshot space race is going to kick in, because I recall what happened when JFK said, "by the end of this decade..."
Unlimited energy? Who doesn't want to dominate that area?

That's wild! I was a kid in the 90's watching Star Trek TNG re-runs. The Star Trek universe depicts a post-scarcity society. And basically "free" unlimited energy would get us most of the way to that goal.

2022 made me wonder if we aren't in the Star Trek Timeline after all...

Who doesn't want to dominate that area?

The entire global extraction industry? They're incredibly wealthy and powerful. I don't think they can stop what's coming, but they spend like 9 figures per year on lobbying/bribes. It's possible they could kick the can down the road a bit by bribing the government to allocate more money towards stupidity like fossil fuel subsidies than fusion research.

Indeed, this is an important fact worth repeating and repeating.

Sadly I fear that it's not in our current economic systems or perhaps even in our nature to ever allow unlimited clean energy even if is possible someday. Who ya gonna kick around and exploit in that scenario?

For your viewing enjoyment, keep on truckin'

How to run a successful company:

1. Start with a large gemstone fortune built by robbing labor and local populations.

2. Buy every company you can, no matter what the cost.

3. Tell everyone all of the companies were your idea.

4. Underpants.

5. ???

6. Profit.
