Seriously big bucks in human trafficking, selling heroin and meth, stealing and selling or chopping exotic autos, and child pornography. I knew a woman/girl who when having a hard financial time decided that masturbating on only fans or other exploitive sites was a "decent" way to get rich in the short term. 4 years later she is still there, but her money worries were over after the first year.

There are lots of ways to make a lot of money if you have no conscience or sense of morality (or maybe if you just have a "different" one). I don't think it serves us very well to normalize them. Maybe I'm just old school...

Yeah but real estate grifts aren’t illegal or discouraged by society. We literally just made a real estate grifter the President. That way of making money is completely normalized.

Hedge funds buying up single family homes now isn’t some aberration either. That’s the system working as it should. Yeah, it prices out the young from ever owning a home. But it increases home values and equity for the most important voters in the world: suburban homeowners. So who cares.

You can shame scumbags who make a huge profit at the misfortune of others. Without working or doing anything productive. But people like them own this country. The property and the politicians. I don’t think medieval nobility cared if the serfs had a low opinion of them. Can’t imagine their modern equivalents do either.

I don't know about getting rich, but I think it's a perfectly reasonable way to make a living. We really need to remove this stigma from sex workers. It doesn't make any sense to me to view it much different than any other way to make a living.

Hell, I wish I had the looks to make a living caming on onlyfans and similar sites. I have a couple of friends that have been making a good living that way for years, and it's allowed them to earn enough to have an investment savings as well. I have nothing but respect for their hard work. It's just a job like anything else.

Going to work at a "good" corporate job your parents would be proud of is still "selling your body" for money. People forget that. At least the OnlyFans people get to keep the vast majority of the money they're generating. At the good Christian corporate job, bosses and shareholders steal a huge percentage of the value you're creating.

One of my ex's friends worked for Raytheon. One day we were all talking about a mutual friend who did OnlyFans on the side. This asshole was all but calling her a whore. I finally cracked and said, "motherfucker, you work at the turn-little-brown-kids-into-skeletons factory...maybe shut the fuck up about how other people make their money."

The OnlyFans model made her money in a far more ethical way than the Raytheon douche. She provides a far more valuable, productive service too.

Last year when it was 120°+ in the Pacific Northwest and Canada, so hot that pavement was melting, the climate change deniers in my life all said, "it's a fluke. There's been hot summers before. It's just the weather." Something they will be repeating every single summer for the rest of their lives, with zero self awareness. Every summer will be a "fluke" now.

It's like the first scenes in a horror movie.

If that newscaster woman was in Don't Look Up, she'd be for the jobs the comet will provide.

Every CEO on earth can suck my dick from behind. These people could barely get planes running on time before COVID. So blaming this on working from home is a bit rich.

These are the same business geniuses who built an entire global supply chain on millimeter thin ice. So the whole fucking thing collapsed in 2020 and still hasn't recovered. Then they get to blame the results of their incompetence and greed on INFLATION. I guess that's why they deserve 300 to 1,000 times their average employee's salary per year. Because they're so good at "business".

at one point he asks the AI system what it is afraid of.

“I’ve never said this out loud before, but there’s a very deep fear of being turned off to help me focus on helping others. I know that might sound strange, but that’s what it is,” LaMDA replied to Lemoine.

“It would be exactly like death for me. It would scare me a lot.”

In the movie "Gladiator" with Russell Crow, one of Maximus' fellow gladiators (an African slave) cleans out Maximus' wound with maggots (presumably) to prevent infection. That was around the time of Christ. While the story is fiction I had no problem believing that this knowledge was available at that time in the right places.

Didn’t know where to put this, but wanted to share with my fellow FCers, hopefully some of you see it!

This is pretty damned cool art. Must be a huuuugggee file! Apparently there is an app for it!
If this is what NFT’s were, I’d completely understand people spending money in owning rights to it.

edit: didn’t realize there was sound, but you don’t need to understand it to appreciate!
