Seriously big bucks in human trafficking, selling heroin and meth, stealing and selling or chopping exotic autos, and child pornography. I knew a woman/girl who when having a hard financial time decided that masturbating on only fans or other exploitive sites was a "decent" way to get rich in the short term. 4 years later she is still there, but her money worries were over after the first year.
There are lots of ways to make a lot of money if you have no conscience or sense of morality (or maybe if you just have a "different" one). I don't think it serves us very well to normalize them. Maybe I'm just old school...
Yeah but real estate grifts aren’t illegal or discouraged by society. We literally just made a real estate grifter the President. That way of making money is completely normalized.
Hedge funds buying up single family homes now isn’t some aberration either. That’s the system working as it should. Yeah, it prices out the young from ever owning a home. But it increases home values and equity for the most important voters in the world: suburban homeowners. So who cares.
You can shame scumbags who make a huge profit at the misfortune of others. Without working or doing anything productive. But people like them own this country. The property and the politicians. I don’t think medieval nobility cared if the serfs had a low opinion of them. Can’t imagine their modern equivalents do either.
