Super glad we moved from news being a public service run at a loss or breaking even to becoming a profit center for multinational corporations. It's definitely had no negative effects on society at all

Hey, I don't even have a problem with thanking God, or whatever, for your meal. So long as you understand Hey-zeus played a more immediate role in feeding you than Jesus.
Funny enough, my super Catholic granny was the only bleeding heart in our family. In pre-meal prayers she always made sure to thank the people who grew the food and the farmers and....it went on for a while.... Gramps and her kids would roll their eyes while she had her head bowed. They'd get caught occasionally if me and the other grandkids snickered.

LOL. What the fuck is the "CCP" gonna do to people living in Montana? Because they don't seem too concerned about the American government harvesting Montanans private data and sensitive personal information. You know, the only government that can do anything to someone living in Montana.
American social media companies happily hand over every bit of the data they're collecting about you to the government.
Honestly, this Tik Tack hysteria just strikes me as sour grapes. We willingly handed over our manufacturing industry to the Chinese. But you know, it's ok. Because we'll be a tech based economy.
Most of what Big Tech gave us is bullshit social media apps. And now, the Chinese are outcompeting us at that too.
Plus, didn't Chairman Xi get everything he needed out of Montana a few months back?

I get torn on the J6 stuff quite a bit. Not because I think that what any of them did was okay, but because I can empathize with someone who is being shouted at by people they trust that an election was stolen.
If the institutions and humans that I put trust and faith in had so persuaded me that I believed the very foundation of our democracy was at stake, I can’t say my stance would be much different from the average J6er, if my resultant actions may have been different.
Yes those who personally committed acts of violence need to be held to account; but far more than anything the ring leaders and bullhorns should be punished by a serving a consecutive sentence equal to the sum of all those they pushed to do this.
While it’s true that nothing can stop an idea whose time has come; only decapitation can slay the beast of alternate realities and fear porn.
