I think that is a fairly impossible assertion to make when none of us have seen anything more than a few pictures of the new unit. I understand being wary due to the issues with the XP units, but I think that your being unfair, especially since the Pax had it's fair share of issues in the past. The only difference there was they had millions in seed funding to fall back on.
I'm also kind of shocked to see you take a personal shot at Greg, of all the people on this forum you would have been one of the last I'd expect to see that from.
I can personally corroborate the fact that the inhalater is indeed both a conduction and convection device, and having taken mine apart like every other vaporizer I own, I think I can make a pretty good diagram of what the internal heating chamber is like. Apologies for the lined paper and shaky art, but here goes:
This vaporizer works by drawing in air to the top of the heating chamber, which is then routed through a small chamber surrounding the poly
imide lined heating coil. As the air makes it's way from the top of the chamber to the bottom, it is heated to vaporization temperature before finally being pulled into the chamber through the holes in the ceramic baseplate.
This design is extremely similar to both the Bud Toaster and Arizer Solo vaporizers, among others. I have come to refer to it in my own mind the"convect-duction" design, where a single heating element performs both convection and conduction heating to an approximately equal degree. I think it is a solid design and that the Inhalater implements it elegantly.
I'm very much looking forward to the launch of the indiegogo fundraiser and will do everything in my power to help inhalater make it. I know this vaporizer has the potential to be one of the very best portables on the market, and I'm not willing to give up on it over the growing pains they had with their last model.
