Does this really need a twelve hour charge before first use? Sorry if it's been covered. I tried to search

This confused the hell out of me. It says in the instructions to charge for 10 (or 12?) hours on the first charge, but as SS said it comes mostly charged, and I only needed mine for around an hour or two before the light went off.

The initial charge time is suggested to help balance the charge between the two batteries before use - it's more of an added precaution to ensure optimal battery life

Got my Indica yesterday. Took it out of the little plastic bag. Put the bag in my shirt pocket. Put the Indica back in the box. Got on my motorcycle, and as I got up to forty miles an hour, I caught a glimpse of the bag flying out of my pocket. Anyway I don't have a sticker to go on my warranty to mail in. I'm trying a work around with Indica.
I have read this whole forum and don't remember, what kind of batteries are in the Indica? I use DC to charge my electronics, (DC always charges faster). When you use a wall-wart, you go from AC to DC, which is more of a pulsing DC. Want to charge it faster? Charge it in your car.

@Dynlowrider, all is good. Check on the original retail box and you will find we duplicated the serial number sticker there as well. Additionally, the last several numbers of your serial number are engraved on the bottom of the Indica near your USB port. As long as you have the Indica, you still have your serial #.

Now as for charging, stick with the charger supplied. We matched the units to ensure the fastest most efficient time to recharge without damaging the battery. If you are looking for a car charger, please make sure that the output matches what's listed on the plug in unit. With your concern for the warranty, don't take the chance of miss charging the unit with the wrong device. For clarification, you won't cause harm but you may slow down the charging cycle.

Enjoy your ride....

My vape is here and charging. Just a quick question to you all, my vape came in a sealed box but the outside of the wooden box along with the molded insert were clearly tossed about abit due to the scratches and dents and my indica although sealed has some minor scratches on it.

Now im not really one to complain about some dents on packaging or some minor scratches on a product that will look far worse for ware once its lived with me for a month im sure but im not happy with possibly being a second hand product when i have paid for a new one.

Is it normal for some light scratches on the silver body models? Im a little confused as the oven looks unused from my novice understanding.

Was the Indica sealed in a small bag with a serial number on it? I seem to recall my stainless Indica was perfect from the factory (usual robot fart smell and all)

Yes it was it had a sticker seal holding the wooden box shut as well. On closer iinspection even the black part at the base at the bottom of the mouthpiece also shows signs of ware and tear. Has anyone else had issues with vapefiend? Are the silver v2 units ex display or something I didn't read up on?

My Noir arrived! After a charge, I did the flashlight-in-the-dark burn-off trick and noticed a little gassing at first, but soon stopped. I did another burn-off and got no visible gassing, so I packed it up and threw in a spacer. My first bowl was honestly a little robot farty, but that went away on the next. Now I'm really getting the flavor, and it's great! I think a friend's Pax left a bad taste in my mouth for conduction, but I am happy with the Indica's flavor production.

It's a well-made little vape, and the box & tools are cool (the extra lid is awesome). I can see how loading it would be easier with @Ratchett's funnel—nice there's a fix for my only minor gripe with the device. Based on the flavor, I'm happy to say it'll be on rotation at home as well as on the go. It'll also make a perfect hand-warmer for the imminent New England winter!

Funny you should say that but I thought the same about my silver model.with marks. My wooden box also had crushed corners. But the thing that annoys me the most about it is the lid doesn't sit flush when closed its only a small gap. It was a completely sealed package though so I know it was as vapefiend received it.

Thanks to all the advice from people in this thread, I picked up an Indica from a local retailer in September. I was in love with it until about a week ago.

Now, my unit refuses to heat. Lights are on and functioning, it holds a charge, but it generates no heat and no vapor.

That's bad enough, but I've called customer service twice over the course of a week, each time giving all my info for a call/email back. I haven't received a call or email yet. The rep said each time that someone from tier 2 service would reach out to me, but that hasn't been the case.

I assume that there's no home fix for the unit not heating? It seems a few other people in this thread have had that issue, and I'd love to send it in for evaluation, but no one's getting back to me.

Does anyone know if there is still stock of Noir's? I ordered mine 5 days ago and it hasn't shipped yet so I was just wondering if anyone knew how long shipping takes? Thanks!

Mine arrived a few days ago and am mostly digging it. I didn't buy it for the packaging but indeed a box you can keep is a nice touch. Shame about the sticker on it, huge with nasty strong adhesive. I scrubbed it with some citrus cleaner.

The unit works as advertised. The middle levels are indeed delicious and the higher levels are powerful.

I am pleased with how small it is. It somehow looks larger in photos, but is a totally reasonable size and weight for what it does. Yes the mflb is smaller but I always end up with a bag of batteries etc larger than the Indica, which is truly self contained for at least a day as I would use it.

The oven door is the big weak spot. I respect the design challenge and hope that our support can assist in future innovations like a door that opens more easily, isn't as losable, and doesn't require a funnel to seal off the complex landscape of grooves and channels. Minor flaw, or maybe not even a flaw, but I find the magnet thing a bit of an inelegant hack on an otherwise slick setup.

The mouthpiece does have a bad silicone stench, but coconut milk seems to work. Weird!

The unit did also have an electronics smell as others have mentioned... It does go away quickly and now the experience is wonderful.

Only final wish list item would be tone down the logo. The black shell is so nice and discrete, kind of a shame to have it say INDICA in contrasting letters. I dig the brand name but perhaps you can rely on cool form to visually spread the brand, no logo needed. I have the same issue with the flowermate vape, which has a telltale leaf in the logo. I wrapped that one with black electrical tape but don't think I can do that to the Indica. I might try painting the logo though. Would be super classy to ship it blank and include some nice stickers for those into such things.

All in all thumbs up, and I definitely wouldn't have known about it without this forum so thanks for turning me onto it!

@upriver : for the FlowerMate they ditched the flower logo after the first V5 revision, now it looks more like a flame but still has "flowermate vaporizer technology" written on it... not the best but already an improvement.

I don't know if the word 'indica' is that much of a tell-tale for people not in the know though.

I've never considered silicone to have even a bad smell, certainly not a stench. I guess there's an advantage to not having a sensitive sniffer. As for the cover, I don't use it anyway. The metal doesn't get hot and I just don't see the need for it.

I would like to say that I have spoken to vapefiend and they assure me all products are shipped brand new, I was happy with this and decided to overlook the slight marks as my pockets will do far worse in no time I'm sure but Michael was on the pm to me straight away wanting pictures and seemed to me to be genuinely concerned.

I'm happy with the vape as long as no faults develop but I just wanted to give a shout to Mike's stellar service and make sure people didn't think he left me hanging lol.

Thanks Mike your the man.

@Ratchett, your funnels are a marvel. I'm just catching up after returning from Denver's Champ's Trade show and want you and the community to know that the show was a tremendous success. Without going into too many details, additional mass distributors, both nationally and Internationally will be carrying the Indica in months to come.

@Ratchett 's device was put to Colorados recreational test and passed with flying colors. This was the answer to our spill and fill issue. Thank you once again for your thought and engineering. Truly exceptional.

As an addition to this filling conundrum, my team has developed a filling device for the on the go speed fill, that we will be introducing in 2015. This will compliment @Ratchett 's product and make portable vaping a less ritualistic filling process. I recognize what a pain it is to fill chambers now so once I'm ready to disclose, FC will be the first to know and see this development.
