Hey everyone, this is my first post on FC. I am experiencing problems with my brand new Indica. Perhaps I was expecting too much; I spent the better part of the waiting period extensively reading through this thread. But even after preparing my ovens properly (fine grind consistency, packed tight with spacer), I can't get much vapor production, even on red. My loads come out dark brown so the herb must be getting vaporized. Any suggestions? Could it be because I didn't get the full 12 hour initial charge?
As
@queefermadness stated, make sure the air path is unobstructed. This is vital when using no screen (I prefer no screen myself).
Dip a bristled pipe cleaner in ISO, (squeeze off the excess ISO so its not saturated) pull off the mouth piece and run it down the chamber into the oven several times while the unit is warm.
You might have a piece of herb or a pipe cleaner fuzzy blocking the path. Your symptoms are usually a result of a restriction.
Shine a light through the top and make sure you see a "circle" of light in the oven from the down tube, not just the essence of light shining in the oven.
The oven is vaping the herb, but it can't get through the chamber fast enough so it tends to over cook the oven.
This is is common and simple to address so no worries.
As for the herb, IMO a mid/fine grind is perfect. Just make sure you pack it with the spacer.
I usually push the spacer in with my pinky, put the door on and if I shake it and can hear spacer move I add a little more herb until its tight.
If your used to the PAX start on green. After heat up, and in between hits try to wait 10 seconds to allow the oven to maintain peak performance.
The real flavor is in the 2 blue settings, vapor is a bit wispy but the taste is unrivaled!
However vapor production does increase quite a bit on #2 as you vape.
Temps #3 and up produce wonderful flavor and impressive vapor.
This should result in an excellent vaping experience for you.
I hope this helps my friend!
