Loved the Smidgin measure.
Hey Carol, thanks for the kind welcomeThis is a loan from the company. It doesn't belong to me, I am trying it out to give feedback. Read about 10 pages back to get caught up. Welcome to FC GoLd.
These models go on sale sometime around Oct. or so. I'm sure Indica will keep us posted.
I definitely would buy one of these units.
EDIT
Tanz, I wonder if you have an extra sensitivity to smells? I remember the Ascent was giving off odors too.
You are talking about BC Vapor that you are dealing with. I had to look at your posting the time before to get it straight. You are not talking about the Indica company. The representative from Indica, Mike is on the road until Sept. he said.
It looks like it was Friday that you contacted BC Vapors. Ive never done business with them.
I'd get the Solo 1st it's well proven and you won't be disappointed you could always use it for a home vape also ,and then grab the Indica v2 when they're ready.Hey Carol, thanks for the kind welcome
I'm about to take my first plunge into the vaping pool and get my first vaporizor, and I think I've narrowed it down to the Solo or the Indica.

With the plastic smell and fumes that still pours off this thing, It's hard to believe that it's possible there are units out there without this problem. And reading through this thread a little more, I find it very strange that I'm not the only one who was first duped by davinci, and decided on an indica to find the same problem. These portables all off gas, don't they.

Yes, BCVapor is the place I got it off, and they are actually really good, but I wanted to talk to the actual manufacturer before doing anything because I don't know if I should exchange or refund and was hoping they could give me some hope for a better unit.
I am really sensitive to smell, but it's the fumes that I can see that concern me most. And I know this does not seem to be the norm but I did get two different units that both smoked...what are the chances...? It just happened like that.
It's not hard to believe at all. A lot of members have an Indica now, and this thread isn't flooded with complaints. I have both the original SS model and the new black model, and I don't have any fumes that I can detect. It's something I look for specifically before I use a new device.
@CarolKing I've seen two different styles of mouth pieces on the black Indica now. I prefer the look of the one you've posted pictures of, as it doesn't have the Zippo-esque pseudo holes in the sides. Do you know if that will be an option for the general consumer, or is it unique to your circumstance?
Thanks.
I don't know, maybe Dr. Vape knows? Dr Vape has had some difficulty lately. He had a robbery at his house. I'm sure he's been busy with that. That is just a new silicone cap for the mouthpiece, can be placed on any version
@CarolKing if the unit is defective it will offgas, the defect adds something else in between the stainless steel vapor path. That was a QC issue that was recently solved, but faulty units are still out there and unfortunate for some.
A properly working unit can make someone unsure how there could ever be faults, since the indica is just so surprisingly wonderful in its vapor quality and efficiency!
The Indica is mostly stainless steel except for the top plate and the mouthpiece. If there's any off gassing that would be the only place. I'm no engineer just my 2 cents worth.
Not to bash a product but I thought it would cook the herb like the Pinnacle Pro, not the case. This unit 's vapor flavor is exceptional.
Mine had visible fumes for a couple minutes during initial burnoff. I then did another burnoff with no fumes. It had a new electronic smell that took about a week to disapate. Are you sure this isn't what your experiencing?
Anything new and electronic will smell ....new an electronic. Indica should provide carbon packs inside box to eliminate this.....also get rid of the baggie the indica comes sealed in, let her breathe a little....
Did you wipe your unit down with ISO (alcohol)?.I was really hoping it was just that because the smoke did seem to go away about 4 minutes in to the first burn off but of course it still smelled like plastic but it is new and I did expect that. So I got all hyped up and went for another burn off, while almost ready to jump in, to my surprise, smoke again, but worse the second time. I figured more burning off would do it but nope. And when I opened the oven that was when I really saw it...a pretty big plume came out of there upon opening it and then wisps and some streaming smoke here and there, and it seems that it just will not go away.

(the video above pretty much sold me on the v2)
And you can get the Solo for $130 on eBay
Or
I believe most vendors ,Puff it up ,Planet vape, Vape World
Link to vendors:

will match or come real close to the $ $130. Most vendors are top notch when it comes to warranty issues ,EBay also but you have to read the fine print and just ask them before you buy.
I've been watching this also but waiting for the v2.
And as a rule of any vaporist you will need more than one anyway. You'll see.
