The new MP and chamber seem rather similiar to the FMs. The light inside is nice. You can't see shit in the first version haha. Is the MP still plastic?

Yes, its perfectly fine and the screen seems rather nice actually, I am sure those wooden ones talked about here would be nice though as an alternative, I don't foresee any issues with the normal plastic one though, the heat from the element doesn't seem to reach the plastic bits so I doubt it will have any melting/negative effects, the plastic does not get hot, only the metal screen a tad.

Try to to cover all holes PLUS on/off button - if that seals it completely means some air is going through all the way from the button :S (electronics) maybe just in beta. I gutted mine, and was happy to see that all PCB & battery were literally in a metal barrel, with a tiny hole letting a few cables through up (power and thermistor), and sealed with white silicone. Only heat-proof plastics were used inside, but did smell strange first, so done some 42 burn-offs, before first use, haha. Stay safe!
Did this new one smell at all at first turn on?

Very light smell, went away after I powered it on and let it sit for a couple minutes, now it just smells like a heater, if you know that smell.

Honestly thats normal, kinda like a new toaster oven smell, they tell you burn them off a couple times also. Bout to sleep, will try that tomorrow, I am guessing the internals are similar so I don't think it would be running through anything hazardous.

Just roasted one through the imag + ceramic and it is flat out awesome..Hillary beat me to the pics..I'll get some pics up of the abv which comes out evenly browned did one session on blue and the second on green..the blue temp gives above average flavor seriously close to matching the flavor on my solo. ..the chamber holds about .10 load..the new mp is pretty solid it has grooves on the base of the oven that line up with a twist n lock groove on the mp..a 1/4 turn and the mp locks into place.. It seems very easy to unlock with minimal effort which worried me but I'll keep it in my pocket for a couple days to see if It would twist off and update this in a few days.. 2 sessions in and I'm well medicated and blown away by this unit the learning curve is zero just load, turn on, pull and enjoy ...will test it out tomorrow some more and some more feed back

It kinda-sorta reminds me of the Pinnacle line in form, hopefully the mp won't be an issue like it is on the PP.

It would have been interesting if all twenty or so reviews could have started at the same time, a floodgate of reports, a gold mine. A huge bonanza.

It is what it is, I suppose. All is good.

trying to get these pics posted..give it another go in a few here....ok here is a side by side next to the atmos boss, pic of the avb and chambers for both my pens..thanks @Kaptan
Its funny both pens chambers hold nearly the same amount...however the imag does give me more pulls per load than the Boss..bout 5-7 for atmos and a solid 8-10 rips with the imag .. Will write more tonight after work and a few more sessions..def loving this unit right now

Thanks Meach, that ceramic is defo a big improvement, Atmos utilize a PI (polyimide) thermal film around a steel chamber, but ceramic have the resistor (heating wire) right in the material - no need to transfer heat, dissipation is even, also the latter is tasteless. The lock-in mechanism of MP looks awesome as well, I wonder if battery capacity is improved or same, either way, this dude looks like the current top of the line for me!!

This is the imag+ v1 taken apart. The "c" shaped piece sits in between the heater/bowl and the button piece.

The air path is in between the c piece and the bowl. You can see dark spots on the c piece. So all that stuff (wires and white silicone(?) Adhesive) on the v1 plus is in the airpath.
Yes, that is silicone, nothing to worry about, it is safe up to 270 C°, no fumes or outgassing, you can cut a little bit, and put it right in the bowl, turn on and see no effects of heat on it :) Although that yellow tape is probably Kapton-tape, could have some adhesives on it, not nice to vape:) Burn-offs are your options, or mod, as mine (I bought it like this from a friend, he done it, so don't ask me how :) ):

Since these were sample units I could smell a tobacco scent in the chamber and mp almost like pipe tobacco... So guessing they vaped through some tobacco.. battery only took about an hour to charge so it was def used prior to reaching me.. did about 4 burnoffs 2 on green and 2 on red allowing about 5 min between each burn off.. Then I loaded some abv and did some cigar puffs of abv on red setting..that got rid of any smell.. So 5 total burn off sessions and 3 sessions w herb there after each herb session was done initially on blue then followed by a session on green so really I've gone through 11 cycles so far..I'm keeping track of how many cycles it takes before I need to recharge it..hopefully I'll get to run the battery down tonight

Yeah I had some tobacco stains on the chamber, no biggie! Not sure if the air path is a big deal honestly, the only part that heats up in the ceramic cylinder it seems, everything behind it internally seems to stay cool no? I am gonna try it out tonight. I am curious about the tape adhesive though, maybe the company can say? Although is it even glued on? It looks like its held together by wire?

Yes the outside of the unit was cool around the chamber even after a back to back session the chambers outside warmed up but not uncomfortable to grasp by any means

So open ceramic chamrber airpath to electronics on this one? Visible led to light chamber? Sounds like the xmax v2, though they're about to update theirs with the airpath properly isolated... I guess I'll see when I get mine

Hillary C: It is just mine held together by a wire! And yours is ceramic, so nothing to hold onto, its inside the solid ceramic :) I bought mine as a fairly new, but modified Imag+ v1 locally from a friend, who made wood insulation instead of plastics (China phobia), but I didn't like its "woody" flavor, so asked him to take it out (and put plastic back lol). But he told me to leave brass wires, does the same job. Even than its still smelled "new" hence I've done many more burn offs, until it went completely away. I don't know how exactly the original looks inside, snamuh posted the pic. Although if it is Kapton tape on snamuh's pic, it is still on the thing which looks like the original insulation, so yeah you probably right (doesn't get hot). Because I don't have it, mine gets burning hot even outside, so I shall be careful, lol (thus ordered V2:)) Kapton is already discussed in Pinnacle Pro topic, and also in Herbalizer topic (which I never tried), they say problem is gone after burn offs, also newer tapes have silicone resin (heatproof) on so don't get too excited about it
:myday:

And if they already vaped tobacco they burnt it for you anyway :spliff:

Meach sry, I thought you were posting more and more pics :)
Shit Snacks: xmax v2 issue correct! I was thinking of where did I read about :D

That sounds all well and good then, no worries like I thought, good to know the only issue would disappear with burn offs, hooray!

Just got a nice email, they seem to be keeping up with this thread, liking that.

"Hi,

"I am curious about the tape adhesive though, maybe the company can say?"
with IMAG PLUS Ceramic, the air path is completely sealed. There is no need to worry about adhesive material.

Posting this here so everyone has peace of mind.

It seems like our buddy Raymond keeps up with us in the thread. He told me specifically that there were two samples sent and who they were sent to. That's cool that they keep an eye out for the consumers' needs and always looking to improve. I really can't wait to hear that mine is on the way too. Enjoy you two!

From the first imag to this new beta ceramic plus..its been less than a year I believe. And these guys took a lot of feedback from users and have really rolled in a lot of features in a very stealth y vape pen..went from a single temp, snap on mp, ss oven, to a 3 temp, twist on ceramic oven.. All within a year ..the only knock on the unit I have is as others mentioned is the non replacable battery.. Gotta appreciate a company that openly accepts feedback and critisims.. Then gives you what you asked for...definitely appreciate there customer service
