How does mj help you?

don't really like indica's(unless I'm with friends), I mainly enjoy the recreational effects but there are also some effects that go beyond that'
nothing as major as the others here, but it helps my eyesight(made a topic abou that) and it has learned me a lot, emotionally, to look at the world more from out of my emotional side, and to get more social contacts

Another effect cannabis has for me are what I call the "warm fuzzies" Before bed a strong Indica will dilate every capillary in my body. The result is my joints warm through and I feel like I am getting a warm massage all over. Great for the circulation and my arthritis. I remember the first time I tried some "G13" that stuff rang my body like a bell.

I have always referred to this effect as "the body waves." I get it everytime I use an indica, and I'm laying down in a comfortable position. Helps as a sleep aid as well, and helps the poor ciculation in my legs. When I first felt this effect (vaped some bubba kush) I thought my legs had fallen asleep, as this happens a lot depending on how I sit. It actually seems to help with circulation a lot.

Interesting find the other night; upon making and smoking some abv qwiso for the first time, I got the same body waves while sitting in an uncomfortable position on the stairs! Usually it seems I have to be in a more comfortable position to get this predominate type of effect, but the abv qwiso does the trick quick.

Here we sit friends 3 years later, and Blue Dream is still a favorite.
G-13 is too.
Life is good here..
I love my collection of strains almost as much as my collection of vapes.
I can not tell you all how much Medical MJ has helped me since it became a medical legality here in AZ.
My increased ingestion and consumption, has made a big difference in my life that the doctors can clearly see.

I tried to reduce my consumption however I become worse?
From 1 to 1/2 oz per 30 days = It seems the higher amount provides the greater benefit!
Plus wax helps as well!

Blue Dream I will get this week to try.
It been 2 years since I last had it.
I may have just past this one up?
Time to revisit!

Clearly true for me also, ataxian.
Having onward toward 3 grams a day available to me has made a big difference.
Being able to eat cannabutter and vaporize side by side has been a plus also.
About the Blue Dream...
It was my favorite strain a few years ago....
then all of a sudden a lot of folks were coming up with a version of blue dream that was different.
It had that effect... and the appearance...and if you searched hard enough with your nose, you could find some perfumey essences.... but just.... not the good stuff I knew.
No Cigar.
2 years I was getting blure dream devoid of the scent I loved.
Scent is a big part of medicating, when Nausea is on your tail...
You need to enjoy the essence.
That is a part of the "self concept" portion of the Vaporization journey.
How you feel about yourself, and the tools you use..
Dirty ugly greasy bongs would lower your self image greatly...
Vaporizing a strain of your favorite smells....... this elevates self image, and completes the "GESTALT" ... the whole experience of medicating.
Well... I am here to say that for about 3 months now... Blue Dream is back, and it is back in all of it's original glory.
I have tried samples of it from here, Colorado and from California... This tells me that the original seeds with the correct genomic structure is back on the table.
Blue Dream.. in da house.
I understand ataxian.. I do... reducing consumption is not a good thing if one is a real patient that relies on our herb to feel like living.

I've pushed my med levels up, as well, and am now getting 5+ hours of straight sleep at a time! I also find that layering my meds, i.e., edible, a good session of flowers, then an oil nightcap, and I'm really zonked.
And I'm waking up feeling a little more like I've actually slept.

I am also out, getting more sunlight now, too. Yesterday's hike, brought to you by portable oil pens! :)

I reduced my consumption because one of the FCMEMBERS uses 1 gram per month? (big mistake) I find 30 grams a month provides the greatest result! Plus 3 grams of SHATTER or more per month.

I may double my consumption as I walk and talk better with cannabis.

Plus it helps me sleep and comforts my nausea!

I love the ideal of a true BLUE DREAM strain to morning medicate.

I keep a few wax pens on my night stand. I sleep 5 to 6 hours with this medicine. Flowers are my favorite however since my wife doesn't like the smell of flowers I get away with wax pens. I have to vaporize flowers outside!

Well said ! I'm new to vaping, back to cannabis after 25 years away. Being able to travel to CO to buy made the difference. Never comfortable buying off the street in MN. My med issues are minor, lower back arthritis/pain and leg muscle pain from overuse (3-4 hours exercise daily). MJ and vaping are awesome.

Bought a cheapy pen vape with my CO rec buds. Realized immediately, this is IT.
Spent hours researching vapes and almost ordered Arizer Solo and decided to splurge with the miniVAP.
Like you pinpointed, sort of for the self concept /whole experience. The MJ is like a magic potion for me, immediate relief. And the experience is "quasi-religious" , maybe like some naturalist or Native American type religious thing??
Currently awaiting my miniVAP, anxious to try it.
FYI, these current genetic strains are incredible, must be 10X strength of my previous MJ. It just sucks having to go to CO for their rec buds.

DDave.. thanks for sharing the link.
It is a large forum...FC, and we might not randomly stumble upon threads, unless we have great deal of time to search.
I appreciate as I am certain other patients in this forum do the sharing you have done.
Meniers Syndrome can be so limiting... and the fact that you find relief in this way will be greatly encouraging to others (and to science/medicine hopefully!)

Thanks Vitolo. Happy to contribute & help! Thank you for always being there to help as well!

A bit over a year ago, Accidentally, Google provided me the help I sought by popping a person's MMJ Meiner's relief story in the middle of my search results and all the Labyrinthectomy articles I was reviewing. At that point, I was desperate with incapacitating dizziness. Within a day, I was up and combusting, gross - I know... but I had found a bit of relief. A week later, got used to the new meds and I was free! Don't even recall the events which lead me to this site, but count FC as another blessing.

MMJ... such a blessing.... I just couldn't deal with the decision I faced. Remain incapacitated or accept the surgery..... I just couldn't live without being able to hear my wife or daughter again laugh or sing  (and I sure as heck wouldn't be able to protect them as well as if I could hear....)

Before discovering MMJ, I almost chose to :rip:.

One thing I noticed is since starting intramuscular injections of Toradol, my daily need is basically cut in half. Ketorolac is a powerful drug normally used in a hospital setting so I have to balance the side effects of GI destruction with this crazy cumulative relief it has. As I go longer without it, my need for cannabis increases proportionally.

I use mj to help combat pain. Not only does it help decrease the pain, it gives me a better frame of mind that helps me not think about the pain and helps me limit my usage of narcotics.

How about you?

MJ helps me by providing a tiny little light of hope in the daily incapacitating symptoms of my life since '08. Ok I don't like the word hope but I cant think of a better one. Hope has always sounded a little "rah rah sis-boom-ba" to me but its the best descriptor I can think of :).

MJ gives me something in my life that's within my control. I can try different strains, I can choose my dose, how often I dose, I can skip it if I want I can spend all night under the covers with my solo if I want. By body isn't within my control, doctors aren't within my control, but to a fair extent MJ is.

I may not have found my magic strain/dose yet but im finding some quality in my life again. To most people reducing nausea and vomiting in the morning may seem small by what the rest of the day holds but to me its something to hold on to to get me through the rest of the day.

Before MJ going to bed knowing in all likelihood I will be vomiting before I can roll over and hit the snooze button didn't encourage my brain to want to continue to wake up. Now I can have that little piece of mind to hold on to even if the rest of the day goes to crap.

MJ helps me in a few different ways, both for PDP as well as some of the mental health issues I deal with day to day. First and foremost it counteracts the nausea during the day from the meds. In the morning's during the week I'm usually in a rush. I tend to forget my food behind after taking all my pills to start the day. A handful of pills and an empty stomach don't make for a fun time.

Second, it assists in relieving the anxiety that I deal with everyday. It's almost like the anti-mvapes lol. Those of my friends that know me on a personal level will know that I'm my own worst enemy at times. I mean please, I'm a 40 year old Jew with PDP - can you imagine the anxiety? I get mashugana every time I think about it.

Why this is so important to me is because I have Parkinson's Plus, and at times my physical wellness can be dictated by my mental health. If I'm having trouble containing myself with anxiety or depression it makes the rigidity and tremors a bit more prominent. It also for some reason or another stops the dyskinesia in it's it tracks for about 30 minutes.

I guess what I am saying is is that walking a day in my shoes sucks ass. MMJ helps it suck a little less.

In my book, that's along with inspiration from my friends here is the best medicine I have!

Lastly, it helps with insomnia. When I lay down I'm pretty stiff from a day on the move. Shit, PD patients don't stop moving. By the time you hit the sack it feels like you went to the gym for a few hours. A few dabs puts me in a mental state that I can fall asleep on my own.

So, all in all I guess what I'm saying is that MMJ is pretty much the best thing ever! It helps me put on a happy face for my kids every day. I think that's what it's all about.

:D

Helps me relax, puts me in this hyper aware yet relaxed state I can't be in without it. Though its more with sativas where I get this positive effect, indicas tend to be too heavy for me. Probably a placebo effect but that's what I notice.

I started as a recreational user but due to long term and serious health conditions I wish I could get access to medical MJ but sadly I'm a criminal in my country.

I really find it helps with my nausea.

I also think the high has medical benefits often overlooked. If you have a long term chronic health condition according to statistics depression is more likely.

I often wonder how folks who use it purely for medical purposes and are new to thc find the high? I assume people enjoy it?

To me the benefits of being high are not recognised?

Im sorry MJ is criminalized where you are but im glad you've been able to get it. Nausea is a beast I deal with it daily all day I feel for ya.

As a first time medical user I will chime in on the other points :). First absolutely long term medical issues casue mental health issues so yea when I first tried jack herer strain I was amazed by how uplifted and motivated I felt. My life is a ghost life, living a life with no life left in it due to my symptoms so far MJ has helped lift that some so I enjoy things now and then.

Genetically im already prone to mental health issues especially depression and anxiety. One successful suicide and several other attempts throughout my family history confirm that theory. Pretty much everyone I share full or half genetics with takes something for depression.

I have like zero tolerance so those times when I can get the lift without the not so nice side effects yeah I do find myself enjoying that "lighter" feeling of being high. Ive never been anti MJ but I admit im not a fan of stoners (the people getting stoned for the sake of boredom nearly 24/7 who aren't productive) but I have no issued with regular daily functional users :). So I guess the difference is motivation and the will to use it lol.

We don't have medical weed here, but nonetheless; the herb and my oil concoctions help me with my mood and eating disorders. An impulse to eat is indispensable when you are in my position, as is the precious sleep provided by mostly concentrates (due to my high tolerance). I have all but beaten my purging/restricting behaviours and cannabis is to be thanked for that.

Cannabis really smooths out my depression (chonic, > 15 years, since childhood) as well as the extrapyramidal side effects of my SSRI's (Akathisia, yuck!), keeps me off the benzos/seroquel/opiates/whatever else i could get my hands on for sleep, just makes me feel much more normal. Keeps me away from other recreational narcotics (legal and illegal, which were serious problems for me at various times), Helps me live a much more normal life. I no longer go out and take 6-10 different kinds of illegal narcotics plus drinking and smoking cigarettes to feel alright in social situations in spite of my symptoms, I will at worst smoke a j or vape a bowl with the Lotus if surrounds allow for this.

My state knocked back MMJ not too long ago. I hope we get it sometime soon, I can't move to the US, I couldn't afford the various meds I need to keep my usual zen self together there! :/ I just wanna be able to grow my own really, let me legally have my own plants and create my own extracts with the safest possible equipment (rotary evaporators etc), with proper know how and safety in mind at all times. I think it's a reasonable request, and I genuinely contribute to my community with a number of not for profit events and to my society with science - cut me and others like me some slack! Let us grow pretty flowers and be a bit happier! :)

I love the fact it helps people with multiple health issues all in one.

Not only does it help my nausea, which seems to have calmed down last couple weeks but as I'm not allowed/can't take most painkillers and zero anti inflammatory drugs it kills several birds with one stone so to speak.

An example of how it helped me recently. I was hospitalised a month ago and when I came out I was in agony, nausea and not eaten for 5 days. I was too ill the 1st night home even to medicate. The 2nd night I smoked some bubblegum and for a few hours I was distracted from some of the pain.

Next day I had some amnesia haze for breakfast 2 hours later I managed some milk and a biscuit. After another few days I was eating again.

Our bodies and brains seem to respond so well to it.

Btw the anti nausea drugs they gave me are crummy they take an hour to do anything and then it's feeble and patchy and they make me floaty and tired.

Also smoking a thin 1 paper j gave me 3 to 5 hours relief but vaping easily up to 8 hours a time.
