Discontinued herbalAire

Almost there...
My HerbalAire 2.1 has arrived!!
Yes, a 2.1!!! This guy has 18 holes versus the newer 16, I think...

Anyway I went ahead and ordered the PV GonG, should be here by the weekend I hope!

Testing last night went really well! Nugs, cut with scissors or ground bud all work really well! All ABV comes out a dark coffee brown with ease.
Many hits per 0,15g load and the ability to fog up my WT's.

Hoping the GonG is an even better experience !

@biohacker i will let you know once the GonG arrives and we can get together!

Almost there...
Got my HA dialed in nicely tonight!
I am back to grinding for now...
Grind and pack the crucible down and i then place a MiniVap screen over the load, it is a perfect fit.
This keeps the load by the jets when inverted.
Milks so much better now and taste and flavour are still great!

A bonus is the mouthpiece tip fits a 14mm joint perfectly!
This is a very under rated vape!
ABV is always consistent!

I've finally got my Herbalaire set up in a way that's easy and consistent. Whilst it was good out of the box, I've found that it was important to have the herb held firm and close to the heat jets with an even spread.

After checking out some of the great solutions in this thread, I've cut my crucible down so that it fits in perfectly with the TonG and has no room to move.

Once I've jammed in some flowers with a second screen on top, it's good to go. I don't pack it too tight, just enough to still allow an easy and smooth airflow when I draw. When I use small amounts, usually .1g or so, I get thick and misty clouds even through a water tool.

I'm pleasantly surprised when I take a draw from my Herbalaire now. I wish Herbalaire would sell crucibles that fit with the TonG as well as include a second screen for compressing and holding the herb in place in the crucible. Cutting the crucible wasn't the easiest of tasks, they are easily deformed and hard to get back to shape. I went through a couple of crucibles before I got it right.

It was still completely worth it, this thing produces tasty and thick clouds. I only have to take a draw or two and I am feeling groovy. I just have to get better at remembering to tip the crucible out, I've seen how much vapor this thing produces even when it's not being sucked out to know that I don't want it sitting in the chamber for any longer than it has to. Puffing away like a chimney it was!

That's it! I'm buying a 2.2! I can't take this anymore.... the timing couldn't be any worse as i'm on a Re-VAS bender again...... it must be the manic cycle of my bipolar when i'm nuts, don't sleep, and spend lots of money! Looking forward to the testing sesh on Sat. @lazylathe !

@LeafyGreens I swear I read somewhere that you can request those smaller crucibles straight from HA in Canada. The vapour being produced confuses me because I thought the law was laid that this is a convection vaporizer. But, who cares...don't wanna get into semantics over the physics of it like in the Solo thread.

Which one just died, an Elite? This is definitely odd because I thought these things were bombproof! Are you sure it's not your electrical?

All deads, elites and h.2.2, the last one. I'm not sure if an electrical problem in my house, but never, never, (in 8 years ho have the house of new construction) an electric device dead suddenly like this. My routers, modems, pcs, Tv, light bulbs, etc, live for years, all in extensive daily use, even as there are storms.

Definitely horrible luck, or horrible durability? Which is what I thought the company prides itself on for these products?

If anyone else is trying to cut down their crucible try this: I inserted a dowel that fits snugly inside and then used a pipe cutter to trim. The dowel kept the crucible from crushing it only needed a little filing for the sharp edge.

You aren't cleaning inside with alcohol that drips in the air holes, are you? Seems unlikely you would, but it's the only reason for repeated failures I can think of.

What is your location and what is your power rating?

Can't remember hearing of any of these vapes failing.
Spain 220v

Absolutly not, i use the crucible, inside of the core remains clean all time and clean once every month with cottom and iso, no drips inside never. Anyway the last one dead at 22 days of use, never cleaned inside the core.

What type of adapter are you using?
It is rated for 110v at 50Hz

Any,

@blabau

Hope you get it sorted out quickly!

My first HA is almost 3 years old now and still gets used ever day. It lives with a friend now and it is his daily driver.
Never given any trouble at all.

I am suspicious of the difference in Hz....
110V @ 50Hz
220v @60Hz

I've never heard of this problem with the HA, despite it being used all over the world, with voltages of 110VAC, 220VAC and 240VAC. The frequency shouldn't be a problem, afaik, I wonder if you are overloading the circuit that you are using? Either that, or the adaptor that you use may be a problem, have you tried more than one?

Herbalaire should be able to sort out your problem, they've always been very helpful to me and anyone I've sent their way. Perhaps see if anyone else in Spain has had similar problems

Please let us know how you make out, and good luck!
