Herb Grinders

The items in the picture you linked are very very rough prototypes on what eventually could be ID storage jars. But storage jars with threading thats interchangeable to fit onto the Super Weapon. - Unfortunately, these are just rough samples so the threading on these doesn't fit the SWI or the SWII.

We were going to move on these this summer, as we were planning on keeping the threading on the SWII for the next version next year. But since we've found something better. Were holding off for now.

See, and this is why I haven't jumped on the Santa Cruz Shredder ;) your product looks so much cooler! Thanks for replying

Uh.. Why would you jump on an SCS when the interplanetary ones are cheaper and better?
On the other hand, my dog Gretchen would be interested in the rock filled grinder. She's a rock dancer. Please add her to the preorder list.

My first gen SLX 2 piece has been the best grinder I've ever found for vaporizing. (the one that has the 206 on the front)

Maybe the new ones are just as fine, i'm not sure. I bet there are other great grinders out there also, but this grinds so much finer than my 2 piece space case. It can basically create a powder out of the stickiest bud.

SLX has ultimately became my default grinder. It grinds great and is a helluva lot less work to own and use. I'm a stoner so the less work thing is huge.
I don't know why but I have a different experience with it. I usually grind by turning the grinder back and forth. I'm not strong enough to do that with the slx - it only turns smoothly in 1 direction. Dust also gets "stuck" in the grinder as it has it my other grinders. That's why I've been talking about the interplanetary one- no dust and smoother grind.

Maybe I got an imitation SLX. Or maybe mine is different because it's not a 2 piece. It's a 4 piece but I took out the screen.

I'm making a grinder out of piranha teeth and a proprietary indestructible honey badger skin coating

Sounds swell. You should include a little brush for cleaning. People use badger bristle brushes for shaving but I think one made from testicular hair would add a touch of class to an already upper end unit.

Even when mine is dirty it still works flawlessly. Mine takes a lickin & keeps on tickin.

Have you considered a small piece of silicone/rubber or a washing up glove? It really does give you a lot more leverage comparative to your grip strength & is well worth giving a go.

I am following @InterplanetaryTanner & his ongoing developments closely as I impressed with his client engagement & taking feedback on board for further development. One to watch for sure.

I am a long-time Space Case guy (large 2-piece and medium 4-piece) but for the past few years I have really been wanting to move to a 3-piece. I had been eyeing up all of the options (including those 4-piece grinders that can be comfortably used as 3-piece) and thought I had decided on SLX 2.0 until I went to my local shop to see them and saw that the build and finish quality was pretty lacking. On the black ones specifically, the coating looked very unevenly applied (maybe a bad batch or something, I don't know?) so I crossed them off my list. I can't see paying $60+ for a Chinese grinder with uneven coating when I can buy a top-quality US-made grinder for the same price (just my opinion.)

I eventually ended up ordering a large 3-piece SCS in matte gray and this thing is absolutely beautiful! The size is perfect (somewhere between the SC medium and large.) I've only used it twice so far (loaded full!) but I am extremely impressed with the grind consistency and I am really happy that I finally jumped ship to a proper 3-piece as it is definitely the right setup for me. I will report back after a few more weeks of use, but right now I think I am team SCS.

I hear alpaca testicular pubes work best.

Couldn't agree more, I bought the SW II because of @interplanetarytanners's open and welcoming style here on FC.

Have you considered a small piece of silicone/rubber

On that note, there should be options to buy a Silicone/rubber band to fit on the SW III when it comes out.

How fine is the grind from the SCS?

Someone else recently mentioned that they'd like a 3 piece Space Case (sorry my memory is heinous sometimes, can't rem who it was!), and Space Case replied in here that they heard the request loud and clear ;)

Seems i jumped the gun and have to re-contact Space Case sigh. The parts do not fit and there are very very minute difference in them for example the little dimples for grip are smaller on the one i got from spacecasegrinders.com compared to the one i just got sent. I can count them 6 from top to bottom on the new one but they are so small on the other i cannot count them but i think it is 5 or 6.

But the real issue is when i screw the bottom on it clearly protrudes out you can not get it flush it sticks out quite ugly. So this should be interesting either i have a very old model or well i cam not going to suggest anything yet it could even be a simple defect.

I am hoping to eventually resolve this and find out why they are different and why mine has purple spots. But for someone to try to buy a part online from thier website and see they do not fit the grinder they bought from Spacecasegrinders.com could get messy. So i think it is good this actually happened to find out why there are differences.

I don't need silicone for my SWII. It would be for the SLX which is hard for me to turn.

the knurling dimples on my two piece are slighty different top piece to bottom piece, top has like one less row of dimples. but interesting to hear your issues. please keep us posted?

I'm not sure if my SW2 threads get crossed but I definitely still occasionally run into issues when I grind too much/too dense herbs and I have to try for a bit to get it open again.

I've had it since Jan and still in great cosmetic shape. Cleaned it twice (last time about 3+mnths ago now) and it still turns great. Doesn't produce tons of kief unless I shake it about and all that which is also nice.

Including the silicone would be nice if you don't manage to find a better way by then.

I'm confused. Are you talking about the interplanetary grinder?

Yeah. Probably too much is the issue.

Between that, and as a result the threading getting to tight because it's too hard to turn when it's too full, we've got new threads already worked out. And the teeth will be changed so there's multiple smaller offset little loading address.

Oh yeah, the nugs I was grinding up were pretty hard. GSCxOGKush, very very very dense - they clinked (albeit fairly lightly) against the glass of my mason jars. Just figured I'd note it. The SW2 has been enough for me with daily use past 6 months. Put at least a half lb thru so far and just as good as when I originally got it.

Barely have gunky buildup on inside of top chamber w the teeth and all.

Pretty impressed and can't wait for the SW3

No gunk for me either. That's supposed to be the selling point of the SLX but my SLX gunks. What is the SW3 and why would I want one?

SW3 is (I assume) the name of the new grinder from @InterplanetaryTanner - not sure when it will be released (probably a bit off now, since the SW2 was the beginning of this year) but you'll probably want it since he is actively soliciting feedback from us here.

Any improvements to the SW2 will be very welcomed as this grinder has been pretty much perfect for my needs at a great price point (fairly sure I paid $25 and no shipping on my SW2...)

Crap, sorry to hear this. There must have been small changes made in the threading/dimensions between various iterations of the design.

Probably about 12-15 months.
