I've been using a cheap 2-inch "Golden Bell" 4-part grinder that I purchased on amazon for $9 for over a year. I'm now ready to upgrade to something good.
In my googling reviews, and searching both here and on relevant subreddits, I narrowed my finalists down to the Lift Innovations grinder, the Kannastore GR8TR, and the SLX 2.0.
Originally, I was attracted to the Lift Innovations grinder, as their claims about the values of "chopping" vs "crushing" grinders sounded appealing to me. I've kept reading reviews since then and it seems that it hasn't held people's initial excitement, so maybe it's not so special (and it's the highest priced). Plus, I want a fine to medium grind, since I vaporize 95% of the time and the Lift Innovations seems to get better reviews for a chunky coarse grind, than for it's finer grinding capabilities, and I have a Magic Flight Finishing grinder if I need a really fine grind.
The Kannastore GR8TR has many great reviews, but it just looks big and complicated to me...with more threads to clean. Maybe if it had quick quarter-turn connections like the Lifted Innovations grinder.
The SLX is what I've settled on. It's not too expensive, and the ceramic coating making it easier to keep it clean and working is attractive. I also like that there is only one set of threads to unscrew and keep clean, as well as the screen being it's own separate liftable body piece with no threads seems attractive as well. It's also a more reasonable price as well. Still not cheap by any means though.
I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on the SLX. SO, I'm open to both praise of the SLX or other information that anyone wants to provide that might persuade me to change my mind and go with a different grinder. Any opinions anyone wants to offer that will effect my decision in my new grinder (as I don't plan on buying a new grinder anytime soon after this) are very appreciated.
