thanks, I was trying to figure out what brand it is.
Knowing it's not a SCS, I don't want to be the sad test pilot of trying PBW on my SCS however!
The pic is a Space Case, but PBW reacts with anodized surfaces, not brand names. My SCS was just as affected.
You people are funny. I toss my SCS units into full backpacks, soak em in iso, scrape them with titanium pokers, and clack the halfs together to loosen up stuck herb. I also use my large SCS as a coaster and paper weight.
Other than an orange peel effect due to hundreds of miniature dents (see: clacking the two halfs together) on the outside edges, these things are as perfect as the day I bought them. Anodizing included.
I really don't see the point in babying a solid chunk of machined aerospace grade aluminum alloy.
I don't baby things either, however dunking anodized surfaces in PBW is a bad idea unless your goal is artistic. My "ruined" SCS is still quite usable, but the appearance is shot.
I cringe a bit on your metal-on-metal attitude (outside of music, not usually a good idea), but the bits are inert and it's your body
I don't baby my shredders, but do treat them nicely as tossing them around can still mark and scuff them up quite a bit. Anodization doesnAppearance-wise, scrapes, scratches, nicks, dings and dents
