I'm liking my Hazing setup better now (the Ryot case was too tight at first) so here are some pics in case they're of any use.

I had a couple of needs the below addresses - requirements, actually:

1.) Portability to help with (too?) frequent leisure travel :myday:.
2.) Portable bubbler for protection of damaged lungs  that are worsened by dryness, etc.

I'm using 'trates exclusively right now, hence my need for the bent mouthpiece. That is, the Haze needs to stay level to avoid spillage, conversely, the h-tube needs to stay upright to prevent spilling water.

First pic is of my Hazeroo with DIY bent SS mouthpiece, Nu-SonG and Pinnacle Hydrotube up in place. It'll just sit there like that although I only do that on soft surfaces to protect the tube.

The Nu-SonG is great for this setup. Here's why: In the below setup, I hold the Hazer in my left hand, tube in right. So there is some movement between hands - especially when stoned silly. The Nu-SonG allows quite a bit of flexibility - so nothing has been fractured by clumsy-stoner-me yet.

The Haze is the gentlest vape I've ever used. Even still, I get a pleurisy-like ache in my defective airbags without bubbler - partly due to new-vape over-usage, eh? Anyway, with the hydrotube, no ill effects at all. Surprisingly to me, the weed puts my asthma in total remission with no other meds needed. (using funds earmarked for asthma meds for weed instead: Priceless. :leaf:)

The below is in an open Ryot Packrat large soft case. You can see I need a 2 battery holder/protector to organize the top of the case. It's on the way from fleabay. Also visible is DIY bent SS MP with Nu-SonG. I wrap the yellow felt around the HT for added protection between the Haze and the tube before zipping the case up. And yes, the felt is named "Towellie".

haze_i10.jpg

And finally, here is what the Ryot looks like with the stuff zipped inside. Ruler for scale. Gotta try to remember the tube when unzipping it to prevent droppage/broken glass bummer.

ryot_c10.jpg

I've traveled with it twice already and it works well. Running the zipper past the tube is always tight and the fit between the Haze and the tube inside the case is tighter than optimal for best protection. I think it would take quite a bit to break the tube in this case but I don't think it would tolerate sitting on the case or dropping it on a hard surface on the zipper side.

edits:

1.) Notes re: Nu-SonG: Ad info is correct that the silicone may arrive needing some more curing. Since 'cone needs humidity to cure and there's almost none here, I tossed it into a cup of tap water overnight and the next day it was firmer and the odor was gone. Easy peasy. The fit to the mouthpiece is perfect. Very nice product, IMHO. Highly recommended.

2.) I found that Ryot had the large size of Packrat case on sale from their direct website cheaper than fleabay sellers. Had to find a place in notes to sneak in what color I wanted as that wasn't just easy to do. They shipped super fast and the bag is well made. It does not have a built in hardshell so it is soft bag type protection only.

3.) A guy in fleabay sells an 18650 double battery holder case that has a seal and is supposedly waterproof. Some of our fellow Hazers said they store cans in one side of a battery case. Wondering if the sealed type of battery case might help contain the herb odor? Wouldn't bet my freedom on it but maybe it would keep the bag from soaking up odor?

Nice case. I went with the Ryot Piper. Its a bit larger and has 3 pockets. The main pocket is large enough for the Haze and a water tool. Theres a side pocket that fits extra batteries and tools and a nice foil lined pocket for stash and cans. I ordered a few of those battery cases you pointed out. They are on a slow boat from China as we speak. This looks like it will be a great travel set up for those weekend trips.

Shout out to the spring loaded mouthpiece idea. I thought about trying something like that but didnt want to get something stuck down in the chamber so I decided to keep the mp out of the Haze. I think I will give it a go.

Finally able to start posting. I want to comment on the Haze as I have had and been through 3 of these units. I still use it as my daily vape (I'm hooked), but feel there is a design flaw with the unit. The reason I have been through 3 of them is the plastic selector that switches between the ovens breaks because of built-up resin. Trust me I follow a very rigorous cleaning (especially after the first one broke) and still after time..snap it goes when switching between ovens. Have to get Haze a big thumps up because both times they replaced. This time I decided to take apart the Haze (voided warranty I know), but I wanted to see why? What I discovered was a build up of resin inside the unit and especially around the plastic collar that attaches the air tube to the selector. I'm not a rocket scientist, but there is no way of "cleaning" that area without taking the unit apart. I still love this unit (ordered another one) and maybe it is just my bad luck.

Also as soon as any ISO contacts the unit the paint peels or curls or dissolves....so much for them white dots..maybe when they release v2.75 the coating will be different.
After 3 months of dry herb use I just experienced this same mishap. I'm cool as a fan because HAZE got my back for a DECADE. That is saying something.

Welcome to the thread my friend. All products may fail one way or another but knowing that Haze takes care of all customers without hassle, makes a huge difference. They are top notch when it comes to service. I wish that this product was out before I bought my Pax. I wasted a ton of money on it and thanks to @Vape Dr. , he showed me a way to replace the damn Pax battery otherwise I had no support from the manufacturer. My Pax has been dusting for months now anyway since my Haze purchase and my every dealing with this company have been a pleasure, from purchases to support and communication.

I don't know what happened to the haze on mass drop that I just saw an hour ago but now all of a sudden its not on there. an hour ago it said there was 7 days left to the drop and nobody bought one yet. I just went to go buy one and now its back in the voting section. so I guess hAze is not on mass Drop right now. Sorry for my Hazlucination. I was positive I saw it in the buy section but it must have been wishful thinking.

@Haze Vaporizers might need to address the "new cans" design - now I believe it's not a "counterfeit" issue, but a re-design issue. Right after I purchased my Haze 2.5, I ordered an extra 2-can/cover pack direct from Haze, and the cans matched the originals, but a couple of weeks ago I ordered another 2-can/cover pack from Haze and immediately noticed the new cans were lighter in color (they look like bright aluminum to me), and they weight around .37g vs .66g. Didn't really care one way or another - they seem to work the same way.

But the problem is that they are MUCH softer than the original SS cans. Those little handles are so soft and flexible that one of them broke off this morning just while filling. They are soft like paper tabs now - even the slightest touch and they bend - just refilling them causes enough bending for them to break off. My other "new" can is doing the same thing and I don't expect the little tab-handle to last another fill.

Original cans on left, new cans on right:
2015-06-02%2010.10.46_1.jpg

I should note that the original 2 cans and the first extra 2 cans I bought are just fine and have been used for weeks longer than the new ones which are breaking after just a few uses.

I guess I need to contact Haze about getting some replacements, but I suspect that this is the "new" can design.

It's back for 189.99 that includes a MFLB finishing grinder, but if you don't want it you can have the Haze for $159.99, free shipping plus tax if in NJ or CA.
Pretty sweet deal, but would check with puff it up for a price match first !

Hi guys.

New to the forum, but have had my Haze for quite a while now. I have the 2.5 version.

My problem is that I think I'm doing it wrong, as I have only rarely gotten a better high off my Haze than I have had on regular hooters. The problem with hooters is they sometimes make me cough, which with my health causes pain. One of the reasons I got my Haze was to avoid pain.

I am going to apologize now, as the questions I ask have probably been asked and answered. I've tried to read the 97 pages of this post but I suffer heavily from chemo brain and have difficulty remember things and comprehending things.

I have all the cans and combustion/convection screens and extras. I've tried all 3 and can't seem to find the one that gives the best hit on dry herb. Unfortunately, I live in a non-medical state and I'm not in the best of health so I rely on others to procure for me, which is why dry herb seems to be all there is around here. Not to mention that I am unable to work while being treated, but I digress. I use a powered grinder to grind my herb into almost dust for the Haze.

My questions are:
1) Can or screen? And if screen, which is best?
2) What heat? I thought that 3/4 is too hot for dry but then I see most people say they use 3/4. I have tried 1-4 but I can't notice any difference, which leads me to believe I am doing something wrong.
3) What the hell are bubblers and all these things you guys are putting on the pipes. I have the water tool and have no idea what it does.

Before I'm judged too harshly, I am not saying that I don't like my Haze. I do get high off of it. But I notice it less than I do when I smoke a hooter. That said, I am on oxycontin and hydrocodones consistently. I use weed as some pain management and more for nausea, stress management, and appetite control (have 0 appetite and will not eat unless I have the munchies). I say some pain management as I don't think I'm doing it right and getting a good dose with my Haze. I would also like to thank those that have mentioned the pay-it-forward program. I had no idea that there was such a thing. Although I'm sick, I do have the luxury of not being a senior citizen (no offense) and can afford the Haze. I am definitely going to use the program as I am a firm medical believer and know all too well what it can do for people and what it is like to not have it. No one should have to suffer. I was fortunate and after 3 months of hell, someone started taking care of my medical needs for me. I am happy to do something similar for someone else.

Thank you Haze and thank all you posters.

Welcome to FC and the haze family! Don't apologize for anything, we're like planet fitness, it's a judgement free zone bud. You will get the thickest clouds and a more intense high with the CONDUCTION:cool: screens (w/o sides) IMO. The convection will provide more flavor with less dense clouds and a lighter high IMO. The cans (my Favorite) is a mix of both but I like the for the prepacking feature. Plus adding concentrates to the herb is a whole new level. (Look through the concentrates threads and maybe your supplier can make some for you. It's your best bet medi wise and some teks are fairly easy)

I use a powered grinder to grind my herb into almost dust for the Haze.

IMO this might be your problem. You might have bad air flow. Try a more corse grind. Also when using cans make sure the can tabs face toward the outside of the device.

Also if you just switch from combustion the effects and clouds are very different from vapor.

As for bubbles, it's just used to cool the vapor. That's all. Haze doesn't have this problem, others do IMO. But it's still fun lol.

Look at the best of haze thread. It's a shorter read.

Good luck buddy and I hope you fix your issues.

@Haze Vaporizers might need to address the "new cans" design - now I believe it's not a "counterfeit" issue, but a re-design issue.

The weight you quote is essentially the same as the pair that I sent back to Haze. I agree they initially look well stamped - but the color is off for any SS alloy I've ever seen. Their rep Mich stated categorically that they don't make or condone aluminum cans. He said they believe these would not be safe for the purity of the vapors. I'll check and edit if I can say if the cans have gotten back to Haze yet or not...

edit: Tracking says the package got there to front desk reception yesterday. I expect we'll hear something soon.

@akiress

Oops edit: Welcome to FC!

Not sure if this input is of any use but I've been meaning to mention it:

I've read in here that some volume of Hazes have gone back due to not enough vapor output.

I noted when I received my Haze that shatter wasn't showing any visible vapor at solid lights plus 15 seconds - but still got me there just fine and quick.

By distraction, I left my Haze sit for about 90 seconds after the 4 lights went solid. The haze was choking by comparison this time with a lot of visible clouds being coughed out. 4 coughing fits and 4 rips in a row and the clouds didn't diminish & the 4 lights stayed solid.

So I've waited to mention this and confirmed it 5 addtl seshes now plus a few misfires like:

-- With my Haze, if either size battery has gone 3 short sessions, then the extra time isn't nearly as effective at producing choking clouds.

-- Also, the lower oven won't top out as aggressively as the top oven. But then, I think the manual at one point suggested only 1 oven for 'trates.

I'm not really going anywhere with the above. I guess I'm just saying it may be diagnostic before sending one in to see if it will go full CLOUDY with an extra minute or two?

As for my Haze, although it may not heat up as quickly as some and it might be helped by warranty work, I think I like it fine as is. I'll be timing it and maybe settle on something like 60 seconds after solid lights 'cause I'm not really after clouds or a lot of coughing. Although, the clouds certainly and quickly got me baked stupid an hour ago. Pardon my verbose post; excuse is I'm pretty up.

To me, the above is a minor quibble. I don't want to give the impression that I'm put off at all. My list of things I like is long as I'd previously stated.

Besides, I don't expect to have it terribly long; I'll sign up and buy in for the next version in a heartbeat! When I pay it forward with this one, I'll just include a note saying: "If you want clouds, give it an extra 90 seconds after solid lights."

Welcome aboard @akiress!

No one is judging here!

I will get to your questions but first I want address your Haze vs. Hooters question. Combusting and Vaporizing are two completely different things with vaporizing being a much healthier way to administer your meds. The difference in "high" comes with the addition of the toxic carcinogens you are adding in with combustion. With vaporizing you are only extracting the medicinal oils and leaving all that other crap out. Many folks say the high with vaporizing is cleaner but a die hard combuster will always argue something is missing from the high.

What I recommend is you stop combusting for at least two weeks and I think you will find the high from vaping just as intense as combustion. Your body will adapt and adjust. You will also more likely realize you really gain an appreciation for the taste of your meds and never want to go back to combustion.

You also mentioned you are medicating for pain so I recommend vaping at the higher temps range (level 3 and 4 on the Haze) as the high temps release the goods that help there.

Now onto your questions....

1. That is really up to your preference. Experiment a bit. As a rule of thumb the cans and conduction screens (cut out ones) will give you bigger clouds (which you may like if you are still combusting). The convection screens will provide lighter vapor and a slightly different flavor profile. Personally I use cans almost 100% because they are easy to swap in and out and it keeps the device clean.

2. Again this is preference but see my notes above on temps with pain management. Personally I like the lower temps because it saves the flavor and I don't like it too hot and harsh. I also don't chase clouds. Others like it on blast all the time and appreciate the clouds that come with it.

3. Bubblers are essentially a water pipe that help cool or moisturize the vapor (or both). Again some folks have a different level of tolerance here. Personally I like both experiences and typically start all my vapes at home on dry and finish with water. When on the road I almost always vape dry.

I hope some of this helps. If you have additional questions on vaporizing or bubblers or whatever then shoot me a PM and I will try to help you out. If you have Haze specific questions feel free to post them here. The mods here at FC work hard to keep the threads clean and on topic.

Again welcome to FC! So much to learn here and a whole bunch of great people too!

Edit: And damn @Haze Vaporizers way to step up for @Vitolo! This is just one reason we all love and support you!

Some solid points above...

I too use exclusively the cans. Imo they are the easiest to use (ill pre-pack a few and have them ready to go in my can-case) they keep the Haze ovens pretty clean since the herbs aren't actually touching the oven and the 1 time I tried the screens I didn't have the best experience(couldn't figure it out, but didn't try too long b4 going back to cans)

I also agree with @NickDlow about the grind. I use either a course grind or sometimes just pick small pieces and don't grind at all and works great. Allows good air flow allowing everything to cook evenly and allow the vapor to flow nicely.

@akiress
Welcome to FC. The folks above covered the tips well.

I'll throw in 2 more for you to consider. When I was first getting to know my Haze, I had problems with the cans. I got to know the Vape with screens first, then I added cans. Not sure why, but the screens seemed to be easier to get the feel at first.

The Haze also works best when you wait like 30 seconds after it reaches temperature before you hit it.

Vaping takes a little different approach than smoking, and it can take a while to get the feel for it.

Interesting. I wonder if others will post: What delay time after solid lights first starts it vaping quickly (a lot already agree with 15 seconds as do I) - but more importantly, what delay to choking clouds? Or say so if choking clouds can't be done at all?

Just askin'... I'm thinking the info might be of use to new buyers - especially if they're into clouds.

To restate here where it's not buried in my last verbose post, mine takes 15 second delay after solid lights to vape enough shatter to get me stoned. No clouds visible or very minimal at that delay. At 90 seconds delay after solid lights (on 4 with shatter), the clouds are more than I can inhale without a lot of coughage. Nice stone, though! Best clouds on my Haze with upper oven (the one nearer the switch)

I don't wait at all. Solid lights, start vaping. Even though you are seeing 'clouds' you're getting vapor. As your herb drys out while the hot air circulates plus heating from the oven your clouds will increase. At least this is how I feel n what I do.

@NickDlow ,

If defective memory is right, I recall some vids you posted showing prodigious clouds! Since that's no delay after solid lights, it supports my notion that some Haze units are stronger than others. Mine is probably a "Haze Lite".

(When I say "clouds", I definitely mean heavy, visible vapor - almost as heavy as in your vids. Except it takes 90 seconds after solid lights for mine to get there. It's not combusting 'cause I've tried that a few years back and totally failed it even with a common bong. I can't get near smoke due to pre-existing lung damage.)

So a "Haze Lite" is probably perfect for me.

Well I've made a few videos and they're with different versions also. IMO my original haze produced the thickest clouds.

If your happy then you're all set.
