Trevor I don't know what you mean when you say it might not be for you. I've tried many vapes and heard great things about this one why wouldnr it be for me ?this has to be a defect.

Hey guys.

Just a quick question in regards to haze can size / bowl area .

I'm ( still ) looking for my first vape and have read a ton on the haze and liked ( most ) everything I've seen here and elsewhere - it truly seems like a fantastic vaporizer. However , I think I will tend to utilize the device primarily by myself ( not all of the time mind you ) , so considering my ridiculously low tolerance I'm still a bit skeptical about filling cans or screens with far less material than would be optimal. ( note : primarily using only dry flowers also , no concentrates/ wax , possible e-liquid )

Can anyone chime in on this concern ? In all likelihood I'd be using no more than .08 g to .10g per usage the majority of the time . Can I still find the haze to be a useful device given this concern or is it overkill and I may be better suited looking elsewhere ?

I've had success with 1/4 full loads and up. I don't weigh my loads, though, so I'm not sure how that translates.

My normal load is .07 g (weighed) and the Haze performs quite nicely with that, in a can or with either screen. I see no reason it wouldn't work with even smaller loads. I've probably tried smaller but I don't actually recall.

So I've been talking to haze and I told them I wiped down the airpath with iso. They told there's a protective film in the airpath that fades away after some uses. Could this be where I'm getting that nasty taste ?

Like many other vaporizers the Haze has a bit of that new Vape taste. To me this was pretty subtle but I'm sure others are more sensitive. It goes away after just a few runs.

If you are not seeing any offgassing you should be good to go.

In all the testimonials on FC I can only recall one customer who had a noticeable offgassing issue. Haze dealt with it quickly and I remember reading later that the Haze became his favorite Vape.

I also just bought my haze recently. I think its great however the reason I wanted to vape was for healthier lungs. What Ive noticed tho is while using the cans no matter how many burnoffs or uses the rubber lid always smokes. Is this suppose to happen? I mean I get big hits of rubber while using the cans with the lids on. If I use the can without the lid it works wonderful. I just wish I was able to use the rubber lids without them smoking. I'll probably try to make my own metal lids that fiT similarly. don't get me wrong though I do like it I mean I do love it. I just would have hoped to be able to use the cans with the liDs of on to keep everything clean

I almost use the cans exclusively and have never seen "smoke".

I am guessing there may be something wrong with your loading technique or your unit is defective.

Lids never bother me either. They are food grade silicone (not rubber). There is a huge difference between rubber and silicone. They place these silicones into your stomach or mouth during surgeries

On the other hand, somebody was using conduction screens as the top cover for the cans and I tried that to see if it worked and yes, it works like a charm. You should give it a shot. If you are still skeptical about the silicone, you can use the conduction screens as a guard to cover the top of your cans.

I have 4 cans. Every one of the silicone lids smoke. I wanted to be sure it was the lids so mid session I took the cans out and sure enough all 4 of the lids smoke. If I pack my medicine in and use the lid the smoke never goes away even way after the medicine is completely vaporized. Its enough smoke to feel like your combusting. Major coughing and not the good kind that leaves you satisfied. So your saying my four lids are defective? They smoke even on heat setting 1 after the oven is hot. I bought the haze specifically for the cans. Haven't even tried the screens yet because I enjoy the cans. Such an even color afterwards. I have tried heating one up to see if the lids would stop smoking at some point but no luck. Definitely not healthy. I really hope its a defective lid but what are the odds the 2 that came with my Haze were bad plus the 2 I bought afterwards are bad?

Maybe it is not your lids. Maybe your unit is overheating. Does this happen when using both ovens?

Also are you sure this is coming from the lids? Is it possible you are mistaking this "smoke" for actual vapor that builds up in the can and is then released through the holes in the top of the kids when you open the oven hatch?

If you are sure it's not that then I would be getting in touch with Haze. Your experience isn't normal from the history of this thread.

Its definitely the lids. Im 100% sure of this. To be sure im going to heat the lid up in an oven with a oven thermometer next to it to make sure my unit isnt overheating. I would try putting it into the haze but do not Own a thermometer that small. How can I know if my haze is overheating otherwise?. it seems to work fine on all temperatures however I'm new to Vaping.

I think you really need to just get a hold of @Haze Vaporizers on this one. Without the proper tools there is no way to test.

No need I was able to use my IR Thermometer and confirm my Haze is within a degree and holds it after draws. Same on all heat temps. Its definitely the lids. Im buying more lids now to see if the same thing happens. Also gonna take the lid to my friends college. He said he can test the smoke or vapor that is coming off it and actually break down all the levels.

to be clear my unit does not smoke at all. Only when the lids are in the ovenS.

On my side I noticed lids don't support too much uses and start to degrade especially if you use pure concentrates and higher setting, it lost shape and it's too much soft now(when compared to a unusued or only flower lid).
Although you can use the provided wick to make a sort of lid too..

before bed I prepare a can or two with bubbleH on the bottom, a small dab of reclaim and I cover it with flowers and I vape it only at 2&3 since my wife don't like too high heat and since we don't want to sleep in the fog!

I always carry my stem in a separate tube cause I was never able to keep my unit enough clean to use it as designed, I'm impressed how much reclaim I get in the vaporpath (and quasi nothing in the stem...)

I'm having a similar problem. I don't see any smoke from the lids but can taste the silicone. Maybe mine runs too hot. I will try with conduction screen idea.

The lids are meant to be replaced in time similar to the screens. That's why they sell it in 5 pack. I have not had any problems with the lids in terms of taste or smoke but I got new lids after 2 months. They are under a dollar per piece I think.

I haven't tried my haze in awhile so I will give it another try with and without the silicon. I bought the extra pack of all silicon tops and overnight submerged and cleaned them with coconut milk, from one members suggestion.

Thanks for the advice. I will try it out. That's how I used my ascent when I tried to use shatter in those glass vials. No lid.

Now I understand what you are saying. If you run empty cans with lids on at 415F, it is normal that you will overheat your silicone and the cans. It is also normal to see smoke coming out of them. It is physics. When you pack your cans with dry herb, oil or wax as intended. The heat is transferred to the material. If there is no material inside your cans, there is nothing for heat to transfer into. Did you ever buy organic cotton for an e-cigarette for example? You will see warning signs on packages saying that "Do not ever heat it without the e-juice on them because it will burn the cotton" ? Why? the same concept. The heat needs to be transferred to the material that needs to be heated. Same applies to your car's radiator. If you do not fill it with antifreeze liquid, the car will over heat. If there is liquid inside, the heat is transferred and no overheating.

I did the burn off suggested by @scottg402 and I decided for the bowl I would use the convection screen with the bottom portion of the conduction screen cut out and placed on top.
Immediately after my first draw I tasted vapor that was most definitely not coming from the material inside the bowl.
Tried it without anything in the bowl and sure enough I saw vapor coming off the bowl that was being heated and the air path. I'm contacting haze soon to see what's up.
Fear not , I won't give up for I know this is a great vaporizer.

Did you clean the cans , removing any factory oil residues ?
Maybe soak them in iso .
