Is @maxvapor710 open and operational? Still waiting on my order and haven't received any email updates since the summer..
Where are we at with these things? Do they work for the io 100%?
Sorry that you haven't received your order. I don't know where things stand with the manufacturer.

The adapter will not work properly with the IO if you use the power supply that is shipped the adapter.

You need a power supply like this one to power the IO:

For those of you with a battery sled, have you found an 18650 that works well with an IO? Line voltage with a new power brick kicks complete butt. Every battery I've tried leaves me feeling a little lacking..... The lights stay solid white, but it doesn't feel like it's running at full power.

They've definitely left the forums altogether. They also stopped updating their enail software this summer. I won't be at all surprised if they to belly up in the next year or so. Buyer beware.

I know maxvapor left FC, as I also follow the MV PID thread, but the company just finished supplying PIDS to NV for their all in one setup, so I’m not sure what’s going on with this company.

@mushlove2u - sorry to hear. It worked for me. I loaned it to Bud for livestream entertainment

That DC brick does take a few seconds to warmup and turn its LED light green. Bud demonstrates this confusion at the 21 minute mark of this stream

MaxVapor dropped by the chat to watch, but he didn't talk about his biz or any news -- sorry, @guyonthecouch

I should have been more specific... I let it warm up, the io will get power and then shut off. I was able to get a hit here and there. I’m not sure if I just got a faulty brick so I just put in for a replacement to try that and see if that’s the problem. What a tease it is!!!

Edit: not sure if I’m overthinking here but I’m trying to Narrow down what’s not working. Should my battery sled lights flicker while in use? As soon as I click The lights go crazy on the sled, I thought this was normal since its been like this since day one. I tried the other io I have here and it does the same thing. I’m hoping there’s not something wrong with my adapter!

That sounds like the standard power supply that came with the set, it's under powered for an IO, but works fine with (at least mine) the OG's. I got the 10A unit everyone has posted here and it works great!

I'll say yes to the battery sled and the lights flickering. However, I've never felt I got an overly satisfying hit with the sled.

This is disappointing to hear. The ac adapter I got from max vapor last June actually revitalized my dead hopper, though it only worked fit a couple of weeks before the cop lights came back. Regardless, it was nice to be able to use my fave vape again for a little while (at some point I may send it in to get fixed, but I have several other working vapes).

I have to say that the maxvapor is a really bad one. He does not answer e-mails about the best length kit for about 6 months and he does not answer here in the forum either. I saw him but he didn't hear. he has to say that he no longer builds the kits, but that's very bad manners

@maxvapor710 I ordered my kit in April, paid in full and I never received it. I have sent many emails - the first I got a reply saying I need to pay postage, and when I asked for a link to do this - no reply. And no reply to many emails since. Can anyone shed some light? Did @maxvapor710 sadly pass away from covid?

Legenwaitforitdany,
Got the tracking and it was sent on Dec 2! All good, will take some time to arrive as it's an international order. As to whether max will make more of the kits I cannot say, its a difficult time for everyone and it would be completely understandable for him to take some time away from work and new projects etc. All I can say is that it shows integrity that he is honouring the old orders that didn't get shipped, and I hope he is doing well and will continue to do the great work he does, whenever he is ready :) happy vaping all!

If he doesn’t want to make more of them why ignore everyone? Why not just step up and say so? Ignoring people destroys trust.

I think he's genuinely just not getting people's emails. This thread has had email issues since the beginning.

That said, I hit him up on Reddit a few months ago and he did tell me he probably wouldn't be back on here, for the same reason 99% of "makers" leave this site.

What reason is that?

It seems that a lot of the manufacturers have been great contributors here. One of the draws to the site is the manufacturer's participation.

I would be curious to hear what your experience has been.

I wholeheartedly agree that having manufacturers participate on here has always been something that has made this site great, the issue is unfortunately they often get spooked from their respective threads being turned into customer service portals.

And I totally understand that if people have a hard time reaching someone via email, it makes sense that they would post here in hopes of getting their attention. But I think there are some ways to go about it that might be better than others, particularly when it comes to "airing laundry” to invoke a response.

Plus, I think tension was just really high at the time this was being built as you couldn't get GH batteries for a long time, so a lot of people felt like they literally needed this adapter.

As far as this product in particular, it seems like the QC and number of variations throughout the lifetime of the GH made this adapter much more complicated to produce than how it was originally conceived. So if one is taking a bath on a product, that could easily affect the customer service. This is just speculation but the redesigning of the assembly to fit units that we're having issues seemed like it might have eaten up any profit.

I'm surprised there have been no updates to this thread seeing as the adapter (a new 2021 version) is once again available at MAX Vapor:
https://maxvapornail.com/collection...power-kit-2021-version?variant=40321442119833

Am I missing the new thread?

Has anyone received the new version?

I'm still doing the Hopper RMA dance so not used my original adapter in earnest, although I should probably pick up the other rated PSU so I can try it with my io some day. And I think I'll also want the slotted ring as the braid snagging & clip bending is seriously fucking with my OCD mindset.

Perhaps I'll reach out to Max via email now service has resumed.

Not sure if @maxvapor710 has been back on the board but I'm certainly pleased he's back in the workshop (if ever he wasn't!).

:peace:
