@Abysmal Vapor do you get more even AVB with the female jointed version?
Depends on how you pack. Abv is pretty even with both . The bowl structure is essential. I move away from the aquarium bowls to a more narrow one that is the same od is the male opening.@Abysmal Vapor do you get more even AVB with the female jointed version?
The G0blin/Gn0ck-off from Green Dream vaporizer: https://greendream.shop/Goblin-Convection-Vaporizer-GreenPower/en.
I never used the Gn0me, but I own a Vapocane. I prefer the G0blin for the following reasons:
- Shorter heating time (60 -70 seconds with a kitchen torch. The Vapocane needs at least 90 -110 seconds).
- Better heat retention (more hits in one heating cycle).
- I can grab the bottom of the heater/glass when it's HOT. Very convenient for a quick stir.
- The Dreamwood Glow can be used to finish the bowl.
I would love to try the Elev8r, but so far the Goblin serves me well!
Honestly for torching this is probably better than its competitor as this has quite a bit more heated surface area from the proper Vigereux spikes, and the heater sits outside the bowl instead of inside, which generally heats the bowl more evenly. I wouldn't expect the basket screen to even need stirring?
I much prefer fused Quartz over borosilicate for torching though.
Really I was thinking, it would be so cool to put an enail around the Phineas tube, again because I don't like the idea of the torching
topic, but speaking of G43, @inverted I am going to swap the boro beads with rubies, should mean better performance and heat retention? Especially since I am using the bowl further away, "injector style"...?
I think for electrifying a heavily dimpled heater you're better off wrapping in a more flexible resistive wire type coil rather than a stiff enail coil, as the dimples throw off the concentricity, which affects the contact area of your enail coil; in other words the dimpled areas won't make contact with the coil.
I would think it would help a lot in the G43 since it's being heated just by the small wire coil wrapped around the glass rod ; essentially a wax pen coil. Ruby/sapphire conducts heat better than stainless steel and titanium so I think it would definitely help in the G compared to glass balls.
I have tried it, i prefer the ball heaters . Invertedisdead is right ,Putting a nail coil will be a challenge due to the unevenness of the structure. Thanks my dude!!
Yeah that makes sense with the heating element around the glass, I remember RBT rigged something up with one of his male cooling tubes and his steel mesh heating element wrapped around it... Not something I feel comfortable trying to do myself, but it would be awesome if someone makes a vape like that someday! It would be like a mini cloud evo you could drop on top of rigs with an adapter
There is a technique you hold it with the male joint upwards while heating and you are left with a cool end, and you can remove the heater at any time ).. which is not possible with elevator.
