First tests went well! Woooowey. Feeling confident that I've got it nailed now.

The top heat exchanger in the picture isn't perfect so will be MY new Gn0ck0ff (2.0) The reason being for anyone who cares is that I started the indents a little close to the joint. Although this doesn't affect the function I feel the little gap is there for a reason, to keep the heat away from the joint, as joints do inherently have some stress in them.

The bottom one in the pic I am happy with.

I may try to do another vid at some point. Don't hold your breath haha.

Hey guys , i was wondering what is the heating time on the Gn0ckoffs,also any idea what is the glass thickness ?. Are all Gn0ckoffs 14mm? (I am just asking cause i wanna compare them to my DIYs . )

I've used highest quality German glass which is 2.2mm thick.. and heating time seems to be much bigger than the originals, like 45-1:00 with a very big flame (5-6) for the 14mm and like 1:30 -2:00 for the 18mm.. which might be better suited for an enail or a stove.. being 23mm in diameter..

Actually Gn0mes arent hard to make once you figure out the right glass pinch sequence,but from my experience Chinese glass joints crack like bitches,while the Simax,Duran,Lenz feel like a ton more durable then them,probably this is why they are worth 10 times more ..,almost like it is a different material they are made of... When i get more supplies for my DIYs and do some more experimentation with sizes and stuff i might make a tutorial ,so anyone with a good enough torch can recreate them.. even if they are not into glass blowing ).
Next on the list in my DIY project is an e-nail gnome ,but atm i have tons of shit on my head.. i mighty explore this additionally next year if things are better than now.

It got some use but could not compete with the Supreme v3 although it could at times if I got it right provide hits near the thickness of the Supreme with that same great flavor. Last time I spoke with Dave was about a year ago or so and he said he made a better version and was going to send me one but I think he got forgot. I had just converted from flower to concentrate so I was not vert concerned about getting it. The one I have never gets used so if anyone wants it...just PM me and I will let you have it for shipping costs. Maybe that would get this thread rolling again.

I dont know about davesmith's creation ,but here is a video of my DIY,i can say that it competes quite well with the SV-3 in thickness of vapor,but the SV-3 will never come any close to the purity of vapor and the taste doesnt really get any better than this once you master it ).It has many other things to straighten up though.. ,cause it wastes quite a bit of butane if i use without a carb,it takes bout two minutes ,but it is worth it cause extraction usually happens in 1 hit or two.

I was trying to provide something for vapor profile comparison from what I have tried. The Supreme is significantly easier for me to use while the gknockoff takes more effort and skill. I don't know which is better and that can be objective to say as well as different for you and me as far as what our individual goals are.

Supreme for sure beats the Gn0me in the ease of use and durability . But for me it lacks in the taste department mainly because it is not pure convection + heater is made of aluminum ..
For sure you can get more consistent results with the Supreme,but in a perfect situation with the Gn0me you get higher quality vapor. ) I agree there is no better and that it is objectives. If i want consistency in results and better overall performance i would use my TUBO,but if i want a chance to win the Pure Flavor Cup i would for sure with go with the Gn0me . So if i can make a comparison like in athletic games, SV/TUBO will probably make more scores overall and win the game, but Gn0me has a chance to set a World Record .

Ye I'm here still. I'm just a bit busy and I never really loved the design for my own use. Having not had an original also meant it took me a while to refine it, probably never the level Callum (the of designers name iirc) had. Theoretically they are a cheap to produce item which could be lucrative but I just kinda left it. maybe I'll make myself one next time I'm in the studio and try
It again. I like toys to keep me occupied for safety breaks.

Seeing the new ELEV8R makes me want to find my gn0ckoff from another member here and give it a try again. Only tested it once and didn't give much of a fair shake, but I've gotten more comfortable with other torch vapes now (Roasty has been helping me not fear heating a glass tube like this) so I'll report back if/when I do

I hope the OP dont mind sharing also here a picture of my latest DIY Gn0me/Gn0ckoff revisions.
Left to the right .
Ungrounded Female 19/26, with 19/22 flame polished clear jointed adapter.
Male heater with what i call Abysmal Bowl or Deepdish bowl ,it works great for microdosing too )(this is my favorite bowl i use it with most of my vapes,it is also 19/22 and flame polished by me also.
Then another male heater with Aquarium bowl(lol) that was made by a local scientific glass blower ,has ungrounded see trough joints and spacing between the joints is 35mx30mm.
I like the 18.8 better than the 14.4 because they deliver bigger hits and hold more herb ,downside for some maybe that they require a bit more heat to get things going ,especially the female version. The male version is somewhat equal to the female 14mm in terms of heating,beeing slightly more hot ,but this is compensated with the increased distance between the heater and the load.

Oh lol no I have not. It is still packed away with some other glass. Due to hand injury I haven't been using any torch vapes much lately, still open to try this again someday, maybe with someone else who has a bigger torch... This design is also just like RBT's XL8R, moreso than ELV8R

I was thinking about this the other day as i have made tubo stems in a similar style. The design works great for conducting heat both ways! (Ventruri column i believe, my spellings clearly off haha). Great post @Abysmal Vapor thanks for gnocking the cobwebs off this thread!

I never used the Gn0me, but I own a Vapocane. I prefer the G0blin for the following reasons:

- Shorter heating time (60 -70 seconds with a kitchen torch. The Vapocane needs at least 90 -110 seconds).
- Better heat retention (more hits in one heating cycle).
- I can grab the bottom of the heater/glass when it's HOT. Very convenient for a quick stir.
- The Dreamwood Glow can be used to finish the bowl.

I would love to try the Elev8r, but so far the Goblin serves me well!

Honestly for torching this is probably better than its competitor as this has quite a bit more heated surface area from the proper Vigereux spikes, and the heater sits outside the bowl instead of inside, which generally heats the bowl more evenly. I wouldn't expect the basket screen to even need stirring?

I much prefer fused Quartz over borosilicate for torching though.

Stirring isn't really necessary, you're right about that. It became part of the ritual with all my convection vapes.

I’ll have to page @Abysmal Vapor for that question as he would likely know better than anybody. Möbius Flowerpot was one but I’m not sure if they are still produced anymore.

Abysmal has better luck with torched glass than me so I like quartz a bit better, but if you’re not breaking the boro it probably doesn’t really matter.

I prefer more dimples .Recently i sold a batch of 19/26 females to a dude in Slovakia, he is obsessed with them,since @Bananiq gifted him one of his heaters . ... I have them in all variations 14/23 19/26 both female and male.I guess it is time to dig up some photos )>
