I'll give you my 100% honest early experiences with the MV1 to talk about:
So when I first got my MV1 the 2 day free shipping was great and the packaging was also top notch so kudos to Ghost for that.
One of the first things I noticed about the MV1 was that it was super heavy but seemed well put together. It fits well in the hand but it's definitely not perfectly balanced as it want to lean forward when set upright.
When I opened it up the silicone smelled exactly like new shoe smell and you could taste it when you took a draw with an empty crucible in the chamber. The smell has since subsided but that was a bit of a turnoff.
I also got offgassing when I tested the unit before using it. I did the dark room + flashlight method and upon extensive heating the coil seemed to off gas and it smelled similar to well.. a burning coil. Since then I haven't noticed any off gassing so
I would highly suggest doing a burnoff on concentrate mode when anyone first receives their unit.
I had some issues with the crucible at first which did get a bit better with time, it's just awkward but there are a few design solutions that Ghost did that makes it a bit easier.
They did their best but loading the crucible with a free floating lid into the metal arm this way is just a fundamentally flawed approach, it just doesn't feel quite right getting the crucible in and out.
I loaded it up the first time and got great vapor production on medium without an issue and I seem to get ~4 good draws per crucible without stirring.
My ABV generally is brown with some dark bits in the middle and greener on the outside. I think a setting right in between high and medium would be perfect for me as I feel like I get charring on the high heat setting and the medium setting isn't quite strong enough.
I really do not like the sound of the heater, it's loud to me. It won't stop me from using the MV1 entirely but the heater noise is definitely a factor and is something I wish wasn't there.
The crucible and the metal part on the outside of the MV1 can become very hot when under heavy use. This is an issue for me as it can be difficult to reload immediately after finishing a crucible because it's just too hot.
The MV1 is quite powerful but I find flavor to be lacking little a bit and repacking it (which is often a necessity for me) is a hassle.
Tip: If you stick the pick tool that Ghost gives you into the crucible holes you can turn the crucible upside down and blow on it making it much easier to clear the spent crucible.
As I got better at the MV1 I've found that it is very good, but I still find myself drifting back towards my vapcap purely because of the convenience factor.
The MV1 is super efficient and you definitely get great effects from such a small amount of herb; the tradeoff being that it's a bit difficult to reload which many may need to do because the crucibles really are small.
As for concentrates the MV1 is going to be my new go to. It delivers big convection concentrate vapor and the reloading isn't really an issue. Under heavy use I did run into overheating but it's not super common.
The battery life of the MV1 is also very good, hasn't been an issue at all so far.
As others have mentioned it's possible that this app update could be a major help, but I am also skeptical about how it'll solve the uneven ABV that occurs even on medium.
So as of right now the MV1 is very good, but it's not quite as good as I was hoping for in terms of flavor and even heating. The MV1 might just end up filling the same niche that my Firefly 2 did but I'm still exploring it especially with concentrates.
