If you get desperate I can talk you through the process for prying the case open and replacing the cells. I've been using replacement Molicel P26As for over a year. If you only have the one battery case I can see why you might not want to try it, there is some risk of breakage.
I think he wanted to have a spare one so he could charge one while using the other. I dropped one on the floor the other day and it popped open. Saw the 18650s inside. Just clicked it back together.
If you suss out how to open it and reckon you could put 2 new 18650s in, I could just send you the battery cover. No problem with the post office here then

You should keep the spare battery charged to at least 50% if your are going to store it... or something like that, but def don't store it without any charge at all.
