Discontinued Ghost MV1

Summer

Long Island, NY
You know, @OldNewbie, you can buy a vape & say you're using it for herbs other than weed or you bought it for a friend. Who's to know. And if there is a firmware update you deem necessary, you can always add the app, update & then remove the app. I have a prepaid, yearly phone from one of the shopping channels as that's all I need, but, as such, I have almost no data usage which I just dedicate to mandatory updates from Google & such.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what brick it means ... maybe steal? Listen, there's no problem if you register it on the website. You gotta trust me on this OldNewbie as I'm not a newbie, but I an OldBetty.;) Maybe I should use this  instead!

I need to recheck the warranty page later to see if it transferable. Hope so.

Introducing the Ghost MV1

INFORMATION FROM GHOST VAPES:

Advanced Engineering and Purity

The MV1 has been designed and engineered entirely from the ground up using only custom designed, tooled and manufactured components. The use of medical grade materials and proprietary technology have resulted in a product that delivers a truly revolutionary vaping experience.

The MV1 distributes heat evenly thanks to an innovative diffuser. This means no charring of material and no need to stir in-between vapes. The even distribution of heat also provides excellence in purity for the duration of every session, retaining all the flavors of your favorite herbs, with zero taste distortion. With the GHOST MV1 you will actually taste what you smell.

On-Demand Heating

Thanks to its advanced patented Heat Exchanger, The MV1 can go from a standing start to your selected temperature in a matter of seconds while holding it there precisely for the longest of vapes.

This On-Demand technology ensures that the removable crucible remains cool between vapes, preventing material degradation and allowing for multiple sessions.

Power Efficiency

The high capacity removable battery pack provides massive power, safely and efficiently thanks to its own dedicated circuit board.

The revolutionary heat exchanger and heat sink work together to make the MV1 more efficient than conventional products. Maximising efficiency and reducing overall power consumption, further increases the battery life between charges.

Exceptional Purity

The exclusive use of medical and food grade materials, combined with true convection and our proprietary heat sink, delivers cool vapor of the highest purity every session.

Quality Redefined

The MV1's design is truly focused on user enjoyment and comfort. Ergonomically designed to nestle comfortably within your hand, our lightweight alloy chassis, available in multiple finishes, combined with the tactile outer casing, soft touch activation button and haptic feedback allows for a pleasurable experience with real ease of use.

Temperature Control with the Ghost App

The MV1 comes with 4 default temperature settings on the device (3 settings for herb and 1 for concentrates/ extracts). But with the GHOST app you'll open up the additional temperature controls to enhance and tailor your vaping experience.

2 favorite settings allow full control and flexibility of temperature for both herbs and concentrates. Change the temperature in between vapes and then save your ideal settings.

Lock My Vape

Secure your device from the App in the event that you misplace, leave it behind or lose it and you can't track it down with the 'Find My Vape' feature.

Just log into your account to lock or unlock the device, safe in the knowledge that no-one will be able to use your MV1 without your say-so.

I will definitely be watching this one carefully. Nice to see an unique vape come on the market... a bit little skeptical as it is very different from the rest. Don't know about this crucible thingy though.

Very excited to see all your reviews.

@VCBud

- I have found your reviews to be very helpful and informative, and you have been always forth right with your audience.

Cheers,

That looks like a case for pre-loaded crucibles... have you tried that out yet, @VCBud ?

I don't think they have even made a prototype yet. While other accessories that are not available for order for another couple of week are on their site, I think the crucible case isn't even there yet.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what brick it means

@Summer - to brick a device is to basically turn it into a brick, a hunk of non-functioning material, from remote locations via the network.. Almost all mobile carriers (or indeed all) have the ability to "brick" your phone as a theft deterrence. You can also just really fuck up your phone and brick it (basically kill it)

By "brick" I mean make the vaporizer useless. I always jailbreak my old phones when I get a new one so I can still use some of the features the way I want. If you're not careful, you can sometimes no longer have a computer, but a paperweight. (aka "brick")

But, since my concern about apps is not related to this vape, but more a meta concern, I'm out. I have no desire to lessen anyone's desire to try this vape at all. As to the particular locking function, when I first read of it the only thing that ran through my head is some marketing guy saying "It's not a bug, it's a feature."

I do want to close by putting on my magic hat and make a bold prediction. When we look at this thread in a few months there are going to be more people who will be complaining about the locking "feature" than praising it.

That being said, is unauthorized use of vapes really a problem? Maybe it's just the crowds I hang out with but I've never heard anyone, even in the back of their minds, wish for such a feature.

You may not believe it but just today I had my lunch break at the nearby park sitting in the sun enjoying my Crafty, when a woman knocked her trolley in front of me so I helped her up and decided it's time to get back to work after, only to find out I forgot my Crafty at the bench.. running back took me no 5 minutes but of course, dear beloved Crafty rest in peace -.-
And then I thought about how awesome it would be if there was a tracking or at least locking feature and a web connection, as the first step is already there.
So my only chance is finding it on local eBay. And this brought me back here, looking for a replacement and now there this is..
but no, no destiny and the feature is still not that important that this is a no brainer. Actually I was looking for something cheaper..

Yeah, that would be really sweet. Even better if it forwarded all of that information directly to the federal government in a tidy little case file uniquely tied to your serial number so they know every single time you have illegally consumed.

That sucks, it would of been awesome to track that back down. Especially if it pinged gps every time it got turned on/used, you could catch up to them right after they got stoned.

@Osn Dosn was being cool I thought, there's a nicer way to say this...

So.. an EU order placed, will update on shipping/packaging/duty&tax etc. from the U.S.
I wonder when it will be available from a domestic market. Also wonder about orderable quantity,
as the option is there in the "Cart", also - if multiple purchase available - will I get the free fast charger with each device?

You're right, there was, but this is off topic. Further discussion about the misfortunes of @Osn Dosn should be taken to the Lounge. Thanks for your cooperation!

Nice to hear it's finally arrived...Finding it hard to filter thru those looooonng vapelife threads for info (and why are there so many?)... but for anyone following that website, has ghost announced how far along they are before clearing up this first run and when they'll be getting busy stocking retailers?

Yes, there is silicone to seal against...I believe....the swing arm and indeed will be in the vapor path. It doesn't alarm me, personally, but we are all entitled to our own material fears and fetishes.

I must have hit a bit of a nerve with this one as Ghost reached out on another board and informed me (us?) that indeed the silicone does NOT touch the air path and that the crucible seals against the bottom of the heat exchanger.

I have found the guys at Ghost to be rather straight forward and honest so right now I'll take that to the bank. But like all of us, I'm a "show me" kind of guy (no, not from Missouri haha) and I will look more closely at the mechanical interface between the crucible and the heat sink. I'm confident that Ghost is being straight with us, just want to explore a bit on my own.

Cheers

@Stu , et al - what happened to the thread in the pre-release section? I thought that they normally just moved the thread over to the regular section when it was released??
I moved the old thread to the lounge. http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/ghost-mv-1-speculation-and-shipping-thread.24495/

Occasionally when a pre-release thread has a lot of traffic (and a lot of it is off topic conversation) we start clean with a new thread upon release. When someone in the future finds FC and wants to research the MV-1, they won't have to wade through endless pages of OT talk to get to the real info. We've done this with several vapes in the past and it seemed appropriate to do here as well.

Is it 9:30 yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Oh, wait, I guess the question is "ARE YOU THERE YET?"

Really, there is nothing magical about 9:30. Go get that battery pack and slide it in. It won't hurt you. Pop that sucker in, fumble with the capsule, then say HELLO TO YOUR LITTLE FRIEND!

I've got to get up early but I wanted to chime in as promised. I'm blown away. Smooth, tasty potent vapor. I was a bit skeptical around how potent the hits would be. I get it now. I've got to do more testing but so far I'm very impressed. Here is your forum member vouching for this vape. It's legit. It's exactly how it's been described when it comes to the quality of the unit and vapor. Stand by for updates on reliability for those that want to see if it will stand the test of time. More details to come.

Agreed..
So far , MV1 is as advertised
I am not the best person to review a vape, but I would say so if I felt it sucked. $320 is not a cheap picnic.
I bought for cool vapor, on demand convection and zero draw resistance and It has all that.
So far, I love it, looking forward to vaping from it

Hey Bud, glad to see your posting situation resolved.

I'm enjoying a long night of testing this thing. It seems to overheat after 2 crucibles in a row, but at least it cools down quicker than the FF2.

Modnote: Back to back posts while high merged

so high i'm double posting
