I haven't posted since the first night I used the MV1, but I thought I should finally add a few more comments. I had planned to the last few days, but I would read and catch up on the threads, vape a little, and never get around to posting. :-d Also, because my comments will echo those of others.
When this vape works well, it's amazing. It produces a different effect than other vapes. It can last longer. But it is very inconsistent.
I thought I had it figured out when I really let my herb dry out, medium grind, for days. Often I produce flavorful clouds from the first pull, starting at heat level 3. But not all the time. Sometimes, they will happen on the 2nd draw (like it has to warm the herb up). Sometimes after a stir. Sometimes after a heat bump. Thankfully, the other draws are usually decent and will get you lifted. I seem to average 2-4 "clouds" and 3-4 light to medium (good) pulls. When the 3-4 others are only light vapor, it's just not as fulfilling.
I have been diligent in cleaning the crucible as well. I keep alcohol wipes (only 1¢ a piece at the grocery store) close by to keep the lid unclogged. It's a little tedious, but it comes with this style of vape. Here's a pic of some uneven ABV..
Here's a couple more, with an another awesome vape.
It was hard for me to get some decent pictures depicting exactly how much of the material looked green, but you can get the idea. The good news is I can stick that ABV right into a Supreme bowl and get 2 more huge clouds with it.
The view from above, crucible in, heatsink out..
So it doesn't look like it's quite "closed" enough, but this seems to be in line with what others show. There is also some play here, with how the crucible sits in the hole. There is also some play with the lid of the crucible. For example..
As others have said, the battery life is nowhere near Bud's 102 pulls. I have gotten 36, 49, and 50 before plugging the battery back in. I did not run it until it died though - based on how fast it was discharging, I might have had 5 or so draws left. I used the quick charger to charge it the first time. Then because it didn't seem like I got what I should've, I used the USB charge overnight the 2nd time. Doesn't seem to matter.
Only one more complaint - I hate the 1 button design. It doesn't take a long time, but the process to get to the heat setting annoys me.
I just wanted to finally get all my notes/thoughts down. It sounds like I'm critical, but I suppose that's in my nature. It is a very unique device that has great potential, but for now it all comes down to the app. If it works as promised, it could alleviate many of the above issues. Fingers crossed!!
