Must be missing the lingo :hmm:since the vape times out after a 15 second draw. :\

5 crucibles? ummmm, wow.

Lemme bring you guys up to speed here. @Slightly Medicated (or SliM, as we used to call him) can push just about any vape beyond what it was meant to do with those amazing lungs of his. We used to beat up a lot of the same vapes back in the day, and he's very thorough. I'm stoked to see him kicking around the threads again, especially this one!

I've been a lurker for a few years. This Vape inspired me to sign up and post some comments.

I'm really new to on-demand vaping, so it's been a learning process, and I finally have fallen in love, after using this vape for a couple of months. First of all, when I started using it, I was just using the grinder i got as a freebie online, and it grinds pretty fine. the previous vapes I've used were session vapes, and a fine grind was perfect for them. I was getting burnt spots in the middle of my flower, and I read on here and some other places that a coarse grind helps, so I ordered a different grinder. That helped but didn't fully solve the problem. Next thing i did to help figure it out was to adjust the height of the stem, which affects the airflow. For me, I now pull it about halfway out, and adjust the strength of my draw until i hear a bit of a whir from the airflow. That helped too, but i was still getting intermittent burn spots in my crucibles. So I started looking at the flower in the crucibles after about every 3 draws, and that is when i figured out that I was doing too many draws, and that is why it was burning. I've learned that the color of the vapor gets darker after about 10-12 draws, and if i quit then, I don't get any burn spots at all.

The quality of the vapor, both in density and medical effects, is amazing. I feel like i'm microdosing, but getting the full effect of a full bowl. It's probably the most effective way of medicating for my migraines that I've found.

And thanks to all that post here. This website is brutally honest about flaws in vaporizers, and that is extremely valuable for people like me that don't have an option to try out 10 or 15 vapes to find the right one.

It still rings true today. I can never figure out why but for me the core of a satisfying high is that expansive chest feeling and struggling to breathe LMAO! I haven't been vaping flower much for quite some time. Just got lazy and a trip coil SAI delivered the goods quickly and aggressively. Even then I have the ability to max out the SAI coils heh.

Sorry for the confusion about the long hits. Yes, I back to back press the trigger button. I just keep it going cycle after cycle until I have finished the entire session in one hit. Today I packed up my SAI and water pipe to take to the Float Studio. I decided for my first session I would use the GHOST.

I managed two crucibles before I had to head out the door. Flavor is on point. Even when I was roasting it on the 2nd red for the water pipe. I am really impressed.

Also, this is a first but I find myself using it on the lower temps like the 2nd and 3rd yellow level... which for me is unheard of. That more then anything says something about the quality of the vapor.

My biggest complaint is I would love for the crucible to be a little bigger. The fiddly nature of this vape is interesting, I could see how it would annoy some. My smoking/vaping friend has no interest in messing with it because it looks fiddly.

The crucible holder has been back ordered :( anyone know of another website that might have stock?

Found this silicone holder but I like the official one better:

No need to explain, just thought it was impressive!

I have some questions for the MV1 owners out there.

-How does the MV1 handles cold temperatures?
From the manual it states "Operate only between temperatures of +5°C – +30°C/+41°F - +86°F". Where I live in Canada it can get pretty cold, sometimes -30C/-22F and I vape in my unheated garage or go for a walk. I store my vapes inside the house so the units themselves don't start off cold. I would imagine heat up times would increase slightly along with decreased battery life but other then that is it doable? Is the experience still the same?

Even though the bowl is smaller then my Solo 2 will it vape the same amount of herb in less time?
This feels like a stupid question as I'm sure the answer is yes. I can't wrap my brain around a battery powered unit that extracts faster and more efficiently that what I have. Sometimes I can't sit around for a 10 minute session with my Solo 2. This is where I like the Dynavap M but I still prefer the effects of a session with the Solo 2. I bought the Dynavap M a couple weeks ago too hold me over until I pick up the MV1. Also, I wanted it . My hits are bigger then the Solo 2, no question, but it doesn't "feel" as efficient.

Long and short, I have an Air OG, Solo 2 and recently a Dynavap M. I want something that hits hard, is on demand, has good battery life and good flavour. I've been reading (this whole thread, Vapelife, reddit etc) and watching videos and it seems like the perfect fit for me. I'm holding off on a 420 sale and then I plan to grab one, with the fast charger, extra battery and crucible holder.

In my experience the MV1 works great when its cold it just takes a lot more battery life. The considerable mass of the MV1 is probably the reason why it takes so much energy when it is cold. In my case 53F/11C
decreased the battery life to a little more than half. It easy to imagine that the power draw when cold is enormous since it heats up a lot of metal in the same amount of time. So the user experience seems to be the same in the cold. Storing the vapes where it is warm has become my new best friend of battery life. The other issue is that bluetooth which requires a disconnected battery to be completely inert. In the connected states it uses more power than I happy with so I now keep the battery and the unit in separate cases (kind of a pain that I hope will change with the new firmware release).

Sittin' here after a nice sesh and I just keep getting WOWED!!! I mean, I never vaped before getting this last week so that must have something to do with it. I was always burning up those tasty terpenes and all curing cannabinoids. Why? Because that's how I was taught. That's all I knew... I wonder what else I'm missing out on because I've settled for 2nd best?! That's a whole 'nother topic but my point is this GHOST MV-1 is AMAZING and I've been REALLLLLY enjoying playing around with it this past week and fine tuning my method. What works? What doesnt? Volume, grind, pack/load/tamp, draw speed/timing, and last but certainly not least temperatures. Start low and work up? Start high? Stay low? To stir or not to stir? Etc.... One thing is for certain, the potency and flavor of the .1g of Sour Diesel I just vaped was beyond what I ever thought it was going to be and THAT is why I am writing this right now. I'm just amazed that a tenth of a gram can go so far... but that's probably just because I'm used to combusting, but FUCK COMBUSTION!!!! Vapes4LIFE!!!! I even started typing higher. I dont even know how I got up here . I thought I was high before... hah! No flame can touch this high... And you know what? Beyond feeling "high" for the first time I am feeling medicated. It's nice. I was joking with a friend after having vaped/baked a bit saying " Ya know, I'm not sure if I ever been baked before I got this vape. I guess I was getting FRIED with the flame." Hah! But seriously, It's an almost entirely different feeling and I almost slapped my friend when he said he still wants to combust.... ANYWAYS!..

Onto the important stuff because I know I searched through these forums and others all about the MV-1 and other vapes and how to use it properly and it is certainly a process that needs to be well thought. Every aspect of it plays a role in the experience. I got this thing because I wanted to be as efficiently stoned as possible and I want the tastiest vapor. Well, the first day I got it those boxes were checked and now that i've been fine tuning I can certainly say that it's only getting better which i'm sure will come to an end soon, but it does take time to figure out what works best. I've done it every which way and you really can't do it wrong other than grinding the weed too fine to where it falls through or to coarse to where there's not enough surface area and the air cant flow through well and I have yet to do either, probably because I test it before I load it with a straw to see how the airflow is and if any comes out... Straws will also come in handy cleaning the crucibles as they can just be "blown out". It's a lot easier than using a little pick for each hole.

So the crucible I just loaded was hand ground, this Sour Diesel really just flaked up perfectly, more coarse than any bowl I'd packed before (they were all ground in santa fe shredder) but I made sure I packed it good.I pressed it in there firmly. The tamp really matters and i'd recommend really feeling how much pressure your using to "pack/tamp" the herbs. I feel it's one of the most important factors.... I was once a barista and the tamp on espresso has a HUGE play on the quality of the shot, determining how quickly/freely the water flows through it JUST LIKE the tamp on your MV-1 crucible will determine how the air flows through and bakes your weed. ALSO, the draw speed is pretty damn important. I'm slowly finding that less is more and I will get bigger hits the lighter the draw. I'm a cross country cyclist/swimmer/smoker though with lungs that could pull trucks so it took me some time to figure out "take it easy" "pull slow" "it's not a bowl". I've actually been telling people to "hit it like it's a fat joint and you don't want it to run". Anyways, I don't have the energy to type all my thoughts on this today ... hah! Long story short... after all my "experimenting" You can't really go wrong but it will ONLY get better if you're paying attention to your every move in the process and observing how each bowl is cooking, the hits, the effects, how the bowl looks after you hit it 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,15 times... etc. All right that's all for now but I can't wait for future updates..

oh and @ghostvapesofficial ... Question, do you HAVE to pull a full 10 seconds?

You do not "HAVE" to pull a full 10 seconds. For me, it's 5 seconds.

Think of it as a recipe. A recipe is a guide to make a dish. You follow it the first time, taste it and think it's pretty good. The next time you make it, you decide that it needs a bit more salt, less pepper or more heat. You play around with the different spices until you make it your own. The MV1 is like that. You follow the guidelines the first time so that you know what to expect. The next session you can play around with it trying different grinds, different pulls & different temperatures. Soon you will find your sweet spot. ;) Just remember that in time, your sweet spot can change, but the MV1 is flexible so you can play around again.

I hope this makes sense. We have different tastes/tolerance, but we want the same goal. :)

I'm so happy that your enjoying the MV1 @ACEasterling!

Nerissa :)

The battery doesn't have to be uncoupled from the vape to disconnect the bluetooth. I just slide the battery away from the body thereby disconnecting it, push it back in & don't take it out of shipping mode.

I did keep it coupled in the way u describe for awhile but every once in awhile it would end up moving and re-engaging and I did not think that was good long term so now I keep them so they dont create that type of wear.

They key to Slims big hits on the ghost mv1:

I start on the 2nd red highest flower temp.
I preheat the crucible while it is empty.
I take a ten-second draw while empty once it has come up to temperature.
I load a crucible with my cannabis like normal. (Don't burn yourself its hot!) (Medium grind using a Phoenician grinder)
I preheat again and begin my draw.
I sort of vary the speed of the draw by a little as I hit.
I pulse the fire/trigger/hit button off and on every 5-7 seconds. This keeps the preheat time down to almost instant and keeps it hitting as long as you want.
I give a good 50-70 second draw through it.
I get a huge hit off of it.
I find the abv comes out dark brown and toasted.
Empty the bowl and you can load another and get back to back sessions.

I find I am good after 5-8 sessions. I made it through eleven before the battery died. You can use this technique dry and through a water pipe. It works well and it gives me the biggest hit and strongest effect.

I can say from experience that he is indeed fun to party with. As long as it's not your stash, of course.

:peace:

LMAO! I still remember the view on the roof that day. I was baked and it was awesome. I usually provide for everyone because I use so much.... you know me ;)

Also yes muelhead I am awesome to party with. Get to Seattle and have some fun!

Okay, so I really am enjoying this device. I want to try concentrates next. In the back of my mind I keep thinking damn if they had a desktop version of this thing I would be in heaven. This thing for a portable is a beast.

Well, if you are keeping it coupled, but in shipping mode & not handling it, there is no way it can enter sleep mode without a firm depression of the mode button.

@Slightly Medicated, as you've only had the vape for 5 days, I'm curious to see if it will hold up with your mode of operation since it wasn't designed to be used that aggressuvely. You might wind up overpowering it to the point of malfunction or burning the heater out. But I guess we'll see in time.

Have you tried filling the crucible from the get-go & doing a no hit preheat?

What makes you say it wasn't designed to be used aggressively? I've never heard or seen anything surrounding this and curious to know more.

It doesn't happen often but the activate button does get stuck. It's not a big deal but it does happen. Has anyone found a fix to that?
