Ghost MV-1 Speculation and Shipping Thread

....and we still don't know why Bud was banned.
I would like to know this also. I know a mod said this i off topic, but since he is the spokeman for this product, why he was ban can speak to his integrity. TBH he seems like a cool guy, I'm a member of his other forum, but would like him to shut the naysayers down in here. Would make me feel more confident in the product.

Don't care why Bud was banned, that's between him and the mods. But sure would be nice to have a representative form the Ghost team to speak to, it's one of the major benefits of this community, the close relationship with the vendors and manufacturers.

I too was interested and have been lurking for some time waiting for more info on this vape.

I'm reserving judgement though until there is some real world feedback.

The crucible screen is currently putting me off, so is not having a screen and basic usable input feature. When folk started talking about stems it really hit home that the crucible may be looking to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

Gotta say that heater glowing red looked really cool but @KeroZen's comments was a quick reminder of why the cool looking glowing thing isn't always good for ones health:

The price is also a little off putting, once you total it all up. :o

I'm going to keep an open mind but I'll let others jump in first and see what the general consensus is in a few months time, I got vapes stacking up that really deserve more attention.

Shit, I may be growing as a person, did I just show some level of VAS resistance? :hmm:

After studying the path after the glow the heated air mixes with some fresh before hitting that load. So heat source hits the stainless..travels around the outer part of the crucible..then load..then me. Sorta like a mighty cooling chamber. Im ok with that handling any glow troubles. That heater is badass!

A couple of my thoughts after watching this project unfold over the past few months:

The crucible chamber with the lid both look very small as is pointed out on the VC review. I could forsee this resulting in dumped product/additional mess which is a big turn off for me.

The amount of silicone surprises me. I don't know enough about it's properties and the amount/time/intensity of heat those pieces would be facing to have an opinion. It just seemed unusual to me - maybe they just function like oversized o-rings?

Water compatibility/ease of use?

When the VC was showing the vapor path with the slide/laser pointer in the most recent video - I kept wondering how easily fine bits of herb could get through the herb chamber and get lodged into all of the nooks and crannies in the air path?

Flashing/Blinking/Button Pushing, Oh My!

Assembling/disassembling did not look particularly simple.

Breakability of the mouthpiece? Ability to replace it with a WPA?

The crucible caddy looked really cool. I'm all about the dosing capsule style on-the-go accessibility.

The Ghost Instagram account includes some really incredible pictures of people using their vape in some really cool environments -- which is strange when the item hasn't been released. :hmm:

Excited to see some folks get hands-on with this device and get some reviews/pictures up!

They killed their own product by building hype and having nothing to show for it. I get that it's not available, but if you look at their instagram a few people already have it. Why not send it to other reviewers? It becomes more worrisome for me as the days past and the only person who knows how good/bad this is, is the Vape Critic. Why not in the hand of sneaky pete, Australian vape, Namaste, etc. They have no problem getting it into the hands of the musicians on their tours. I will wait for user reviews.

Heh, you're a bit quick to dismiss all our wonderful in-house reviewers, whose expertise I value way more than anyone having any financial incentive in doing reviews (be it just ads/traffic on their website)

Why don't they have any FC presence? It's not because the VC was banned that they are not allowed to create a manufacturer account here.

We promise to behave well, like we did with all other manufacturers! :goon:

first post on this topic...

like a lot of you, I'm looking forward to hearing about the experiences FC members have with this.

- it looks like you could bend the little 'ears' on the crucible lid in a bit so it'd grip the crucible (if desired)
- couldn't you open the door, turn the unit upside-down, and dump the (spent, hot) crucible onto a heat-safe surface - and have a spare crucible available for a 2nd load?

it seems like this is the vape people have been asking for though:
1. all convection
2. no stirring
3. metal body
4. glass vapor path
5. efficient
6. does concentrates

I'm not familiar with any other vape that does all this. if I were FF or S&B, I'd be nervous.

fair enough. just speculating of course, but if this vape does well, spare parts like that metal cap will be readily available and cheap - but it's not even available and I'm talking about mods. I'll wait for it to be out for a while before indulging my VAS - this forum is exactly the place to exchange 'real world' experience, regardless of what you think of the vape critic.

1. The alumina ceramic crucible is absolutely going to add conduction.
2. I find matching material consistency (whole nugget, hand torn, fine grind, etc) can usually negate the need to stir.
3. Sure would have been nice to see titanium in this price range, it looks big enough to really benefit from some weight savings.
4. It's not. The stainless steel lid is one of the first things the vapor passes through, not to mention the metal coils used as the heat source.
5. Not enough info, only one person has used one.
6. There's a bunch of vapes that will do concentrates off SS mesh pads. I would have liked to see a concentrate solution made from the same ceramic as the crucible. That would add value.

As an outsider looking in, it doesn't look like it will hold a candle to the RBT Splinter.

One would hope, but right now I believe they are only advertising a three pack of crucibles/lids for about $20.

Many things attractive about this vape, but two items that in my mind are complete fuck ups, particularly as I know they were advised otherwise but pressed on; 1) the flaky lid situation; 2) the single button/single light for control and display.

I think they are going to catch a lot of shit over these two items, hopefully will respond with a change, but I think they really missed the boat on these requirements. In particular, growth in MMJ is being driven in large part by seniors (like me, who have a lot of med stuff) and I think these two items will mute demand for this vape in that demographic. Just too much of a PIA.

Of course, if you look at their slick "lifestyle of the beautiful and vaping" vids, it doesn't look like that market segment is their target.

Eh, its been said enough. It will sell and we will hear reports from the field about it. Looking forward to it.

I admit that after watching the video a couple times I was still kind of scratching my head about that, but IME these things are quickly learned (even by we seniors). like you, I'm looking forward to 'real world' reports.
Yeah, I think I will have no problem with learning the mode/settings function button, but why should I have to. They have a TON of real estate on this vape for some buttons (three....power and up/down, yeah?) and a display.

I just think they really missed it on this but can see where others may disagree.

Hey I just got a mighty after breaking from the wait of the mv1. I'm now thinking I should take my descion back and return the mighty and wait it out for the mv1. The potential of the on demand convection is to good. I also thought about how when your battery dies it the mighty u have to send it back and pay to get it replaced, here you just buy a backup. Because of the price difference I could also get a Dynavap M right now, something I've been eyeing aswell just for the different experience, and this way with patience I could end up with two vape with the mv1 beening even better. What do you all think?

You could buy a Tubo-evic (on demand convection) http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/tubo-evic.22992/ which has user swappable batteries. Then you could even get more than one VapCap and still be spending less $$ and getting proven technology.
