Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Been a die hard cs fan since the early betas.
I like to dust off CS:GO for a game every now and then but I've mainly played the casual mode as I'm not normally up for the commitment of playing a full competitive game(is that what it's called? You know the one where you have to play like 15 rounds or something). In fact I haven't even got enough games under my belt to be ranked. Sadly, my skills are woefully lacking.
What do you guys think about Titanfall? I'm considering picking this one up
I haven't bought a COD game for what seems like 10 years, I've had a few games here and there on friend's consoles and enjoyed it but it's just not something I've wanted to put a lot of time into. I was in on the beta of Titanfall, like I said before, and I purchased it for PC on release day.
I put quite a few hours into it the first week and I'm still going back for a little game every so often. I tend to play for about an hour or so each gaming session and I'm still having a lot of fun even though I get absolutely scudded most of the time. Overall I'd recommend it to most people who like fast paced gaming and if you're into FPS games then it's probably a must have.
I've only played the second game, Arkham City. Not normally my type of game but I saw it was being offered cheap in a steam sale so I decided to try it out. I thought it was quite good, I particularly liked the Riddler challenges but then again I'm into puzzle games so that probably makes sense. Even though they weren't exactly the most intellectually taxing puzzles, trying to get the timing right was fun.
Speaking of which, if anyone is into puzzle games then I'd suggest looking at a game called
Rush. I've sunk a fair few hours into it and I enjoyed it immensely. Another one I'd recommend is "
English Country Tune", it's quite short so getting
the demo first to see if you like it would be a good idea. It's also available on the iPhone/iPad for a few dollars so if you'd prefer to have it on something more mobile then that would be a viable option, although a friend told me that the control system on the PC is a little easier to use but he still played it all the way through so it couldn't have been that much of an obstacle.
If I remember correctly I picked it up as part of a
Humble Bundle so I certainly feel I got my money's worth. I'm sure quite a few of you already know about this but for those PC gamers that don't, I'd definitely advise you to get signed up for updates from
Humble Bundle. They regularly sell different bundles of games at insanely low prices, the best part is that the developers of those games select a charity that a portion of the proceeds go to. You can even choose how your payment gets split between the developers, the charity and Humble Bundle itself. This means if you think it's a particularly worthwhile cause and want all the money to go to the chosen charity then you have that option available which I personally think is a great system.
Most of the time they run two different bundles, the main bundle which changes every month and a weekly bundle that rather unsurprisingly changes every week. They also have a store which sells individual games which is worth checking out to see what's on offer but the savings generally aren't as large as with the bundles. Every now and then they sell mobile game bundles (Android I think, they do state what platforms they run on in the sales) and there is also the odd eBook bundle available as well. As you can most likely tell, I've got a lot of love for these guys so check them out if you haven't already. The current bundles aren't that great IMO but trust me, they quite often have some absolute rippers.

@
Dangus If you like Arma 3 and Day Z then it might be worth you taking a look at the "Breaking Point" mod for Arma 3. It's zombie survival mod that although is in early stages shows some promise.
@
DieHard Speaking of Ipad interaction in PC/Console games, I'm guessing you've seen a game called "Watch Dogs" that is out later this year. I just thought I'd mention it because I remember a while back they were saying that they wanted to make it so that you could have a friend on the iPad/iPhone assisting you by hacking various things in the game like cameras and pop up bollards. It was at last year's E3 that they were talking about that so who knows if it's still planned to be part of the game. Also I believe Battlefield 4 gives you the option of using an iPad as the commander but I don't have the game so @
tuk would probably have a better idea than I have of how that works.
