(WCHS) -- The band “Survivor” is taking issue with the use of its hit song "Eye Of The Tiger" in the cause of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis.

Davis, who was held in contempt of court for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses, was released from jail Tuesday.

Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee emceed her theatrical arrival at a rally, introducing her to cheering crowds as "Eye Of The Tiger" blared.

On Facebook, the band said it did not grant her any rights to use the song.

One of the band members tweeted that Davis does not reflect his views and the publisher will issue a cease and desist.

According to TMZ, the band's rep said they're determined to protect the integrity of their music and the group's considering a lawsuit.'

The band wrote the song for the movie "Rocky III," by request of Sylvester Stallone. The single went on to sell more than 30 million copies.

Read the above sign The Suprme Court is the new ISIS. I don't think so, what a bunch of clowns. I used to think Mike Huckabee was kinda a nice guy. I thought he seemed sensible, not any more, he's a nut case.

Lo and Behold! The transformative power of Vapor.
Remember when Newt Gingrich got in a lot of trouble over using it too. Survivor even mentioned on their facebook page about the 'abduction' of classic rock by conservative politicians. Because it has become that common of a practice. How about when Al Gore got into trouble for using "Don't stop" without permission. I could go on about flagrant copyright law and 'freedom frie' politicians all over again.:mental: Been there done that.

Politicians should only be allowed to use this one piece of music when campaigning. So we can get in the right frame of mind come election time. Then no more lawsuits. Nip it in the bud I say. Everything else is off the table. Including 'Hail to the Chief' unless they are a president/former president.

Speaking of Newt, If you can't keep the books/budget straight when running for a political office, while receiving billions of PAC money, you should immediately disqualify yourself from the race. We have the internet, social media, and a plethora of political blogs. (Although, snail mail does still have an impact.) I once heard a statistic that the amount of money spent on the Democratic party's 'pep' rally would be enough to buy health care for everybody.:whoa: Could have been hyperbole, But I think you see the point I'm making here.

I'm just going to end this with FUCK ALL THAT NOISE and just send in the clowns already. All 'The Donald' needs is a red rubber nose and clown shoes to complete his wardrobe.

Blind man and guide dog kicked off plane;
passengers follow in support

  • Albert Rizzi, who is blind, boarded a US Airways flight with guide dog, Doxy
  • Rizzi says he got into a heated exchange with a flight attendant over Doxy's placement
  • Rizzi and Doxy escorted off the plane; other passengers followed in support
  • US Airways says it is investigating and that the pilot canceled flight for safety

Usually airline passengers side with flight attendants when it comes to safety, but in the case of a US Airways flight Wednesday night, passengers rallied around a blind man and his guide dog and disembarked en masse.

All 35 passengers on US Airways Flight 4384 walked off the plane after Albert Rizzi, a blind man from Long Island, and his dog, Doxy, were escorted off the flight after a heated exchange between Rizzi and a flight attendant about where his dog was placed, according to Rizzi.

Although he was first to arrive on the tarmac for the flight from Philadelphia International Airport to MacArthur Airport on Long Island, Rizzi said he and his dog were the last to be seated on the small plane. He was seated in the middle of the back row looking onto the aisle with no seat in front of him for Doxy to lie under.

Shortly after boarding, Rizzi said a flight attendant told him the dog would need to go under a seat for safety reasons.

Several passengers in Rizzi's row offered to have the dog lay under their seats, and he was placed under the seat of the woman to his left, according to Rizzi.

The plane was then delayed nearly two hours. While the plane was sitting on the runway, Doxy got up to reposition himself a few times, ending up under Rizzi's seat against the back of the plane, Rizzi said.

The flight attendant asked Rizzi to control his dog and keep him underneath his neighbor's seat, according to Rizzi. After a heated exchange between Rizzi and the flight attendant, the pilot announced the plane would be returning to the gate, Rizzi said.

Rizzi and his dog were then escorted off the plane by airport security, according to Rizzi.

After Rizzi and Doxy were removed from the plane, passengers demanded that the flight attendant be removed from the plane and Rizzi let back on, said passenger Kurt Budke. He said that all 35 passengers banded together in support of Rizzi, and after realizing the passengers would not budge, the pilot announced the flight was canceled.

If the flight attendant had tried to make alternate accommodations for Rizzi, Budke believes that the situation could have been avoided completely.

"US Airways is sorry for the inconvenience, and we are looking into the situation to see if it was handled properly," US Airways spokeswoman Liz Landau said Thursday. She added that the pilot and the flight crew elected to return to the gate due to the safety concerns caused by the actions of the dog and said Rizzi was verbally abusive to the flight attendant.

Landau said that the pilot and flight crew didn't feel that it was safe to operate the flight after seeing how upset the customers were at the incident and said that the pilot asked everyone to disembark once it reached the gate.

US Airways then provided free buses from the Philadelphia airport to the Long Island airport, Landau said.

"This became the most wonderful experience, out of the most horrible experience. I found that humanity does exist, and people can do the right thing," Rizzi said, referring to the actions of his fellow passengers.

Rizzi said he has not been contacted by US Airways since the incident and is considering legal action.

"They picked the wrong guy to mess with," Rizzi said. He is active in the blind community and sits on the disability advisory board for Suffolk County, where he resides.

Rizzi became blind eight years ago after surviving meningitis and has had Doxy for seven years. Rizzi said Doxy is short for Doxology, meaning "praise to God" and "a new beginning." When they were matched seven years ago, Doxy was just beginning his service as a guide dog and Rizzi was just beginning his life as a blind man.

If you don't know what a Sihk's are. Please educate yourself. Or start with a few cartoons -> http://www.sikhtoons.com/. Tragically, they are often the victims of hate crime. Simply because they wear a turban. They have a serious image problem. Ironically, Their faith resembles Jedi more than Islam. No other rational reason for them being a target. They even forgive their attackers.:whoa:

Sihk Americans believe more in diversity and self reflection then say.... me. :ugh: Fuck my ignorance.

"Go fuck yourselves, the lot of you -- you sad, attention grabbing, power-hungry little men. Do not use our music or my voice for your moronic charade of a campaign".

~ Michael Stipe

R.E.M has a NSFW message to Donald Trump after he uses their song at a Tea Party rally

R.E.M. to politicians using their music—"go fuck yourselves!"

Donald Trump used R.E.M's iconic "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" song at a Tea Party rally in Washington, D.C. and the reaction from band members Michael Stipe and Mike Mills was swift.

R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills seemed conflicted about even addressing it:

"Personally, I think the Orange Clown will do anything for attention. I hate giving it to him."

The band's official statement, released on their Facebook page was toned down, but very clear—cease and desist:

"While we do not authorize or condone the use of our music at this political event, and do ask that these candidates cease and desist from doing so, let us remember that there are things of greater importance at stake here. The media and the American voter should focus on the bigger picture, and not allow grandstanding politicians to distract us from the pressing issues of the day and of the current Presidential campaign.”

~ R.E.M.

The Donald has not yet responded.

Meanwhile, Survivor frontman Frankie Sullivan was also upset at hearing their "Eye of the Tiger" song being played at the Kim Davis release rally organized by Mike Huckabee:

NO! We did not grant Kim Davis any rights to use "My Tune -The Eye Of The Tiger." I would not grant her the rights to use Charmin! C'mon Mike, you are not The Donald but you can do better than that"

Fuck You!!! to people leaving animals in the car on a hot day. During a youth football game yesterday a golden retriever was left in a car with the window rolled up to just an inch at the top. It was 84 degrees here in my area. They announced numerous times, animal welfare/control was called. The person's window was broken to get help to the dog. I hope that asshole got a huge fine. Police were notified.

EDIT
Fuck You too!!! People that like to take selfies with bears. All these pics of people with bears in the background. This could happen.

Fuck stupid people that judge you based on other people's lies.
Feel that on so many personal levels right now, and some other posters seem to be in that boat too lately. So now's a good time as any for me to pull up my soap box .
Fuck all types of gossip mongering, Fuck that ugly little human trait where people need put down others to make themselves feel superior. Sadly we are all a little guilty of this. :ugh:

I would like to feel I am a little more adult/tolerant of the negative/lesser traits of others, that I don't need to put down some poor soul to raise my own self esteem. But some will spout their BS without any consideration for helping the person being judged. They are quick to condemn others but give themselves a plethora of excuses for their own behavior and want all the fucking sympathy too boot. It should be just the opposite. Try applying that sympathy/consideration for the other person.

Judge yourself if needed, to identify and cast out your own demons:evil:, But don't beat yourself up. :bang: And for fuck's sake, don't project your frailties on others. Fuck that circle of BS.

Yea I file that under 'A lie travels around the globe while the truth is putting on its shoes.' Also it takes more energy and time to counter that BS when the person dispensing the BS doesn't have to defend jack-shit. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty, or facing your accusers? What purpose does it serve to unload on someone who has their own row to hoe?
Why do we tend to burden people who have the most problems? :cuss: Fuck pettiness, Fuck unloading on those with the much greater problem. Fuck demonizing and alienating those who really need to be understood and not condemned. And In that respect, FUCK YOU Dr Phil. In my opinion, He is king turd of bullshit mountain. :shit:

Fuck You !!! To stupid people. Joyce Mitchell helping the murderers that were in prison escape. It scared the hell out of thousands of people while they were on the run. Not to mention the millions of dollars spent getting them apprehended.

To top it all off she talked to Matt Laur on the Today Show about how the one older prisoner that was killed made her give him oral sex. As she cried Mr Laur was asking her all these questions some rather intimate and she's apologizing to America. I guess she wants everyone to feel sorry for her trying to explain why she would do such a bazaar thing. She will be another one that will write a book.
