Where are all the sickies? @mvapes, how are you doing? @Vicki,hows the healing going? Everyone else? Hanging in there?
My skin is ripping:rolleyes: damn steroid creams :cuss: It started about a month ago and i stopped using them, but the effects are still there. It does not take much to cause a bruise or a rip. Some of them i didn't even feel, just saw the bleeding:uhoh: Seeing the big boys at NYU when i get home from vacation. Speaking of vacation:D I decided that i needed a real one, so i rented a cottage in Laguna  I love my family and my nieces and nephew, but i want some ALONE time when i'm there. Going to SF for 5 days before, already picked my stuff out from the dispensaries:clap:.
Hope everyone is doing well:D

I hate steroids. I hope it heals quickly.

I have an appointment with my surgeon this afternoon so he can see how I'm doing and get OT paperwork started. I've lost a lot of movement in my wrist, but hopefully that will change in time.

Growing up in Orange County Surfing was amazing as a kid.
The laws are improving however were not there yet.

I remember surfing in front of the NIXON estate when I was a kid.
We stopped in Laguna on the way down south to have a ORANGE smoothie and a Tuna/Avocado Sandwich. No traffic and the coast was amazing! (very few houses)

You might try upping your flavinoid intake, too... the white insides of citrus skins (pith) is rich in them. So are dark berries. Have a few handfuls while on vaca. :)

Wait!?!, is this a short, pithy statement? Also, what are the advantages of flavinoids? Looks like I'm off to google but am looking forward to hear from yourself! TIA

@VaporsVaporizer have a great vacation!!!

Everyone else Keep on keepin on!!!

Thanks @Enchantre , i'll eat the pith, but not the berries ;) @ataxian Laguna has changed a lot over the last 35 years my family has lived there. It's the height of tourist season and the Sawdust is going on, so no zipping down traffic free PCH:lol: http://www.sawdustartfestival.org
The SAWDUST Festival during the 70's was a must. I need to go this year!
110 mph was common down PCH! (before when there were no traffic lights in Corona Del Mar or Newport Beach)

Lol! yes I'm often pithy. ...
bio flavonoids are supposed to improve cellular wall strength. .. so they reduce bruising and help with skin integrity.

The sawdust festival is awesome, I went back in the '80s a couple of times.

My arm is messed up as well, I have a group of mosquito bites that aren't healing. They are in other places also, but my right forearm seems to be the focal point. It doesn't look as bad as @VaporsVaporizer's does, but It's been over two months now and these bites aren't healing. Luckily I have a doctor's appt in 11 days, but I wish it could be sooner. The only thing that has any effect on these sores is undiluted food-grade peroxide, but there seems to be an underlying issue because they just seal up and get inflamed/swollen later. I'm guessing it may be due to a fungal infection, because rubbing alcohol doesn't even sting, and antihistamines seem to help. I'm also guessing I'll get a course of anti-biotics. I hope it fixes this issue, because I've had mosquito bites before and they've always healed on their own.

I dread mosquito bites, they love me and it's never just one or two, it's 30 or 40 :o that swell to the size of quarters and last for weeks.
I haven't had a chance to use this yet because i don't really get mosquito bites in the city, but i'm ready for next time

I got stuck in a creek-bed for a half a day once when I was of high school age, without a shirt on. I got hammered by skeeters, well over 100 bites on my back where I couldn't shoo them off. Nobody was strong enough to pull me out except the owner of a ranch nearby, he was an ex-nfl lineman and finally came over (he wasn't home when it first happened) and pulled me right out of that "quicksand" (more like mud).

I was so much better with bites then. I actually went backpacking right after that happened, I had my first experience with calamine lotion over my whole back. That stuff is incredible but ain't helping now.

I don't know if you tried neoporeon? After the hydrogen peroxide?

We're all different of course!

Our daughter has had great success with using doTerra Lavender essential oil on her youngest son's bites and sores... he had gotten MRSA multiple times over the prior year, and her doctor had her try this... little dude has been "MRSA FREE!" for over 6 months now.

I would think any quality brand (even food grade) pure EO would be fine. I'd go with organic, myself. I often use melaluca/tea tree oil on my own "owies".

It great to see that arm looking so good @Vicki after what you've been through. I'm really pleased for you.

@VaporsVaporizer Ouch, that looks painful as fuck. I'll never complain about my psoriasis again.

It's just the rather unsightly plaque forming kind mainly my elbows but that's my own fault as I did stop using the steroid gel the doctor gave me as I was noticing a thinning of the skin as well as some other side effects. Admittedly, my feet and elbows were getting pretty bad but all this sunshine we've had over the last couple of months in the UK has certainly helped, although unfortunately I can't see it lasting much longer.

If anyone has got any tips to help stop me itching my feet at night(other than bandaging either my feet or hands) then I'm all ears as I'm sure it's slowing their recovery. Maybe our resident expert on nature's healing remedies @Enchantre has some ideas.

Oops...I started complaining about it, didn't I? I guess I'm full of shit so at least I'm in the right place to throw some of it around.

Hey Taxi (@ataxian, I hope you don't mind that little nickname), it's always great to see you around here spreading your Zen-like wisdom and positive vibes.

Edit: @momofthegoons Sorry, how could I forget you Mom. Whipping us all into shape and keeping us in line. I hope everything is good at your end of the iinterwebs.

I tried tea tree oil, it helps but does not defeat. I also have some lavender eo, so I'll give it a shot.
Man I hope it's not mrsa, I've heard some horror stories about certain variances of that one :uhoh:

When I search for neoporeon I get napoleon, so do you mean neosporin?
Then yes. It calmed down a couple of bites but they have not healed properly.
At least they're not inflamed like the problem area on my right forearm.

Sorry I mis spelled it!

I use to get reef cuts all the time.
The only thing I could do to heal them without staff infection was to soak my wounds with Epsom Salt then hydrogen peroxide followed by neosporin and bandage with a breathable glaze. At least until your doctor looks at it! I'm not a doctor by any means. Just a survivor!

Sorry for the bad spelling!

Back in the 1700's, it was standard practice to apply a paste made from mj on skin irritations. Perhaps try making a paste of your abv by grinding it down to a powder and mixing it with some olive oil. It might help. Add a little lavender for good measure. Certainly couldn't hurt, as long as you wash it all off from any open sore afterwards.
