@Dejan LimelightHerb

I was checking the site and downloaded the manual ahead of the device shipping next week and wanted to say you have a lot of info in there already and it looks solid overall!

I did see a typo on the word "replaceable" on page 2 or 3 talking about the batteries if you were interested in feedback like that.

My only question mostly out of curiosity is I saw it says that the device has a safety feature that turns it off when a charger is connected and I wanted to confirm the device will never be on or active when connected to usb c? I don't know that I'd ever charge a battery via the device and would almost always use an external charger but it would have been neat if it or future versions could work via pass through (not as interested in pass-through charging, personally, if the battery is removable in a device) or if you didn't have any spare batteries and could just run wired.

My apologies if this was discussed previously but I didn't see it with a few searches and don't remember it being mentioned when I read the thread last week.

I'm sorry if this has been covered. What 21700 batteries are OK with the unit? I have a few on hand, but they are for flashlights and I antiicpate that (like with my TM2), they don't have the amps needed. Just anticipating what else I should get as accessories!

molicel p45b or p50b seem to be their newest 21700 batteries, those should sort you well.

Also in the manual on their site it says any above 25a as well. But p50b probably is the best bet

What is the size of the oven screen, 15mm like a crafty ? And the CU upper screen ? The difference between the 2 slots seems small. I am a bit dubitative about the eventual result with a half loads. Could be half load= half cooked ( the manual says fill to the brim)

Received mine, cleaned, charged and tested.

Initial thoughts as I know you’re all excited, sorry I'm also rushing here so will do my best……

I found replacing the CU screens tricky after I took the CU apart to clean. I couldn’t get the coarse screen back in place and it got damaged so just running the finer one for now. The supplied pin tool in the vape doesn’t fit the CU hole under the lock-ring. I didn’t take the oven screen off only cleaned it gently in place. The CU is easy enough to take apart and clean.

During the first burn off on session mode I could hear the heater buzzing like Morse code, happens with On-Demand too but it’s not that noticeable, perhaps more-so if you have sensitive hearing.

My mouthpiece is a bit loose, it does ‘snap’ in but when carried in a pocket with a bit of jostling it did come off. CU to body has a good secure connection though.

It’s a solid unit and feels well built, looks good but is not that small, for me portable but not pocketable.

Only tried full ovens:

On demand – super quick to heat up, feels almost instant to me, very impressive! Noticed a few times it didn’t buzz when reaching temperature but did at other times; at first I thought this was because it was already at temperature but it’s done it from cooler temps too, no buzz but green light and display indicator are saying it is.

Button is nice and big and has a nice click to it.

Very even cooking of herb – zero need to stir for me.

Cooling is very good too even for higher temps.

Unit stays cool pretty well even after back to back bowls, just feels slightly warm.

Airflow adjuster: Easy to turn and adjust but doesn’t stay ‘locked’ in position, not a big deal but if you adjust the mouth piece it can rotate the airflow adjuster too.

Slightly reduced vapour production at lower temps than what I expected but this could be down to many different factors. Nice balance of flavour though, perhaps slightly muted (?), however good vapour production at higher temps while keeping nice flavour. Overall good function, it seems to favour a more rapid pull than a slow sip.

I’m happy with the Frolic, no real learning curve as such so easy to use, even extraction, good cooling but a few things to get used to (as with any new vape)

Hope that helps

Thanks for the detailed first impressions!

I'm a bit worried about the things that don't quite fit and the vibration that doesn't always work. It was my understanding that the Frolic was the product of an obsession with perfection, so it's surprising that things like that would have slipped through.

Awesome, they are arriving slowly so 1st hand feedback is here finally.

Thank you for taking the time to post this!

CU screens are hard to replace, you will get a hang of it. Let me explain...

You will need to bend them in a concave shape a bit more than they are bent already and then they will pop into place as supposed. About the hole on top, that was milled last minute, at first, that part of the cooler was completely open but that messed around with heat dissipation a bit plus made the locking ring dirty from the bottom so one more part to clean which we did not want... If you take a look, there was some complex machining involved to make this section closed off from the airpath. In the end, milled a small hole enough for a toothpick or paperclip to pass through. You won't need to take the screen off frequently, cleaning is fine with it in place, or so I have found. Definitely an aspect to look into and improve, not being defensive at all here, I appreciate the feedback and promise to address everything you guys can find.

About the tip, sorry about this, as you said, the AFC doesn't lock in place so I have made the mouthpiece tolerance a bit more loose so when you can rotate the tip into position without affecting the airflow. This should be fine but the tip can be more loose. We had a 0.03mm offset here but then it seemed like the Viton orings had a similar tolerance so I advise trying with a spare oring you received. Alternatively, if you find this to be an issue, please reach out and we will ship a new tip.

About the vibration, in demand mode, there's a certain tolerance when the temp is reached so if you activate it back to back, it will still be at the set temperature meaning it didn't need to reach it again so there will be no vibration.

Sorry if I don't answer all the posts today, I will follow up. Stretched out thin today.

Cheers!

I requested in the notes to not use the US warehouse as I'm Canadian, will I still have to wait for US invoicing to start?
Canadian here too. Do you know for sure whether it's better *not* to use the US warehouse?
No love yet with respect to invoicing 🙁

Looked at Troy's video and his review looks promising for what I'd hoped this unit would perform like.

Edit: Just got the link and sent payment! Yay!
