Looks like Curaleaf has a decent strain out there with about 2.7% terps spread over 3 terpenes; Pinene, Myrcene, and Ocimene.
On paper it seems like this could be fun.

I'm guessing I'm going to see it and feel "meh" about it though.

We'll see in about 20 minutes :D
Hopefully I'm eating my words!

Edit:
Not too shabby!
It's difficult to describe the smell but is definitely familiar.

The aura is a relatively classic spicy smell, but a deep inhale brings in something a bit more unique. It's almost like a spicy metallic? It requires a real slow inhale to really pick up on it. Maybe that is the smell that is supposed to lean into "minty"? Bit of Basil?

That's gotta be the Ocimene coming through. An article describes the terpene's "complexity" as "sweet, fruity, and citrusy flavour in combination with strong earthy, woody, and herbal"
I'm getting herbal and woody.

Man I wish I had the word for it.

Reminds me of the early Florida dispensary weed we used to get, but not horrible and more refined and smelling as it should. Classic Curaleaf but up a level.

Don't you love me describing something vague with something vague using even vaguer wording. Really helps to paint a clear picture.

I'm pretty certain the smell is the same smell from HTCannabis's (now HOP) strain Prophet. It's a bright sour, that's the best way I can think to put it.
Can't believe I was able to recall that.

Overall, while I'm impressed for Curaleaf standards, it's definitely not putting up a fight compared to the recent Sunburn pickups I've had in terms of flavor.
You can get some resin thickness coming through the vapor on the first pull, but it's not mouth coating like those recent spicy sunburn ones were. The flavor is there but not pronounced. After a hit it mostly dies off.

It's not cooking too quickly though and is vaping decently well.

So I'll confirm again that while it's not the best, it is "not too shabby".

Super Boof

Got some fresh press I’ll update on later too
The flower is fantastic. Great smell, great looks, great flavor and vapes very well.
Flavor is similar to that Loma from RiSE, a bit of that orange cream soda smell.

The fresh press rosin is like a 5/10 on smell/flavor. Being fresh press, it's more of a shatter.
The smell is weak and is just standard oil smell and flavor barely comes through.

I'll let it warm up a bit see if anything changes.

Honestly, it was the last of anything that was on sale. She was very excited about the other strains she had, but none were discounted.
They are on sale today unfortunately, looks like I missed out this time.

Hard going from the Sunburn Rosin I have now to this ...

I got BLUE CHEESE from Sanctuary a couple of weeks ago and it's 💥🔥🔥
Nice we don't have many people visiting Sanctuary 'round here so we don't get much feedback on em.
I see em on both ends of the spectrum on other forums.

Blue cheese sounds lovely!

Well shit, GrowHealthy coming in with some beautiful buds of Super Boof
Pulled up the COA from their portal, and this is only 1.4% terps.
Makes me wonder how the other dispensaries are testing terps... as this is some of the best under 2% flower I've had.

Some of the prettiest buds I've seen in FL

As yall know I have no self control.
Still have some mtn trop Badder left from sunburn, some Strawpaya fresh press from GH, and that lovely Super Boof from GH.

But that's not enough to stop me :science:

Sunburn had a new strain drop of Lucky Charms.
I was hoping it would be one of their interesting sweeter smells, but it's on the gassy/pungent side, but still smells very good. Little bit of musk in there.

Interesting look with bright green buds.

They also had some "jam" for sale. Sunburn offers Rosin Badder (standard), Rosin Jam (soupy), Rosin Fresh Press (shattery), and Piatella (baddery) but only comes in 2gs.

I asked the main difference between their jam and their badder, and they mentioned the Jam was more terpene heavy (woohoo!)
The numbers confirmed it, the smell reinforces it, and the look is quite terpy.
The strain is Soap, which has been around Sunburn for a while but never gave it a try.

Check em out:

Edit: you can see strain similarities between Lucky Charms, and their grape cream cake here:
Clear color differences, but there's something in the nug structure that reminds me of the GCC.

420 haul today and happy late 420...first time going to Fluent. The price of their Sugar was $22/g at over 80% THC, got 8, also went to Ayr and picked 4 (2 Wax, 2 badder) at $20/g, and finally to TL to get ICNDY Flower at 27% THC for 4 at $15 an eighth.

ICNDY with and without flash

One of the Fluent Sugars

Not a fan of this stuff, strain Soap.

Burny taste, having trouble getting good flavor. Can manage to pull a resinous hit, but with pretty much no visible vapor. As soon as temp gets high enough to actually get vapor, the flavor falls off.

Hot starts are doing better than cold with this strain, but a huge miss compared to the Mtn trop, where reheat after reheat it still tastes good.

Oh well, on to the next once this is done.

Went back to Sunburn, as they had a 2 grams for $80 deal, which is one of the best they've ever had. Especially being able to group in their T1 with that, which is usually discounted to around $55 for 1 gram.

I ended up snagging, based on "flavorful" recommendations
1. Poochie's Papaya (lol?)
2. Z Cubed

She tried to get me on "Double Burger" which is essentially just "GMO", and I'm like, I assume that tastes like gas onions and garlic which I'm trying to avoid, and she was like ah, ya, you don't want that one then.

It's interesting learning Florida's staple strains. I don't know if GMO is famous everywhere, but it's huge in Florida this last year, and you get a great idea of what you're getting if anything is derived from GMO.

Anyway...

Both strains have interesting smells. I wanted something that leaned on the sweeter side of things as that's where strains start to get interesting.

I can't really describe either.

Both are similar. It's a mix of sweet, pungency, and green .. not a lot of fruit.
The Poochie's has a bit of a twist though and brings in some sourness.

Flavor comes through much better than the Soap strain, and is easier to pull flavor, but still not as crazy at the Mtn Trop, which the lady also agreed was "very tough to beat" in terms of flavor.

The Orange Mintz is highly suggested, leaning less "sweet" than mtn trop, and more "straight orange", which I was trying to avoid a bit. I'll get it at some point.

She described the Soap as being "very ... green?", hesitant on the word choice, but said she could understand how the flavor profile could be interpreted as burny.
I just think it's burny, but at least a bit of solidarity there.

She seems to really understand their strains, as many of the Sunburn employees do. They all seem connoisseurs of sorts in their own strains. Wonderful to see and I get that consistency no matter who I talk to. Some are more passionate than others and want to discuss, but they all seem knowledgeable.

So to avoid gassy flavors and take a nice flavor trip out of town
-Mtn Trop at the top of the list
-Blue Zushi very close behind it
-I believe any of their Blue strains are similar and should avoid gassy profiles
-And soon to try Orange Mintz

There's probably some in there that I'm missing.

Sunburn just LOVES gas/skunky smells in almost all of their strains, which used to be all I wanted, but their other strains pull off some very unique flavors that are hard to find and are fun to explore.

I took a whiff of that RiSE Resin I got a while back as I still had the container. Straight powdered lemonade smell. Doesn't even resemble anything about weed smell. Somehow, my girlfriend still just smells "weed", as I'm left trying to drink the container of lemonade.

Can I find a dispensary that sells 10 different strains of .1s for $60 so I can try them all.
Thanks.

Really liking both the Poochie's Papaya and Z Cubed Rosins, both taste great and are pretty interesting.

Running low on flower, stepped into Trulieve for something quick. Went with a Modern Flower strain, got Bom Pop, coming in at 25% thc, 2.4% terps, with myrcene leading.

Soft and spongy, with a spicy smell. Some solid lookin bud.

Trulieve hasn't missed with Flower in a while.

Where can I buy medical grade CBD flower? Are their any dispensaries in FL that sell it nowadays? A few use to years ago when the program first started here but I've not seen any in a long time. At least not at the dispensaries I shop in.

Low dose THC product is still included in my Florida rec but it doesn't include flower. I guess I could use my regular flower allotment to get low dose THC flower. I just did a quick look around some dispensaries for low dose flower and didn't find any. As I understand it ..... Hemp-derived cannabinoids are no longer controlled substances in Florida so maybe the dispensaries aren't finding medical marijuana CBD lucrative enough.

Took a trip out of the country, and found a very easy way to still bring something over safely.

Curaleaf has 300mg tincture in 30ml container. An easy peel of the label, and it's just a small bottle that sits next to your other toiletries. All my toiletries are in unlabeled containers to keep them around 30ml anyway, so it blends right in.

1ml dropper is 10mg thc.

Curaleaf also has water flavor drops, and looks just like those Mio water enhancers. Also a great option.

Been sick the last few days so haven't been vaping.

Thankfully, the day before, I got some 30mg Ayr RSO capsules to try for the fun of it. They've been holding me over.
30 pills, 30mg each, for a total of 900mg, at just around $35.

While those have been nice, taking 30mg, wanted to explore a bit as they take a while to kick in, and then they last a long time.
...the burps are also a bit gnarly..

I've been using some "freebie Sunday' tincture I got from Sunburn for free a while back. They have one 2:1 THC:CBN, and holy moly does that put me to sleep. Makes my eyes so heavy I simply cannot stay awake. Perfect for late at night. I heard CBN is great for sleep and this sure helps to confirm it.

So I went to Ayr, and got their Levia brand "tincture", who "specializes" in water soluble THC.
300mg for $16.50. 30ml bottle, so each 1ml dropper is 10mg of thc.

Since it's water soluble, it should kick in within 15-30.

The taste, as I had already assumed, is described as pretty rough. It's a citric acid derived, so would be pretty tough to mask that.
Just gotta chug chug chug it down to avoid the flavor.

It says it's a "tincture", but that's probably just for legal purposes in the states. It is most definitely water drops.

Will post back how it works for me.

This has been working quite nicely. The flavor is pretty rough. Putting it in orange juice helps, then chasing it with fresh orange juice. It's citric acid, so the orange juice helps it blend in.

Hits very quickly, within 15-30. Full effects within 45-1 hour.
Lasts for multiple hours, up to 3+.

Been doing about 30mg. Lost count last night of how many drops I put in, probably about 40-45mg, and holy moly was I stoned.

In the FL Medical edible world (say that 5 times fast), 300mg for $16 is a bargain. Most edibles are about 100mg for $15-$20, and up to $25 for rosin edibles.
The best deal for edibles is hands down RSO syringes at 1000mg (% wise, around 750mg thc), at $20-$25. I haven't gone that route though.

900mg in capsules for $35 or so is also a fantastic deal from Ayr.

Something else I'm tempted by is $25 half ounces from Sunburn.
At even just 10% THC, that's 1400mg of thc for $25. Put that in some brownies and it would be quite the deal as well.

Jungle Boys opened up 19 minutes away from me. Definitely interested in going.
They had a 2 for $100 deal on their concentrates, and if traffic didn't look bad, I probably would've gone.

Instead, I am very pleased having gone to Sunburn, and got 2 for $80.
I truly can't picture much better concentrate than what I get from Sunburn, it's pretty great.

I've been really wanting to try their Orange Mintz. Unfortunately when I checked out, I realized I had grabbed a Fresh Press, not a Badder. They were out of stock with the Badder so I stuck with the Fresh Press.

I've been sick, so my smell/taste is currently not all there.
While the Fresh Press doesn't smell like much, when warmed up for 10 minutes or so out of the fridge, the smell starts to come through.
It looks really good though, like a very clear, sticky bendy shatter.

Effects wise, oh boy it's strong. Really put me down and I was in bed way too early.

The other strain I got was Banana Punch in badder form.
Smell and taste is amazing on this one. The smell leans on a pineapple type of smell. It's sweet and sour, very refreshing. Like a refreshing sharp orange.
They're getting a lot of banana strains in, which I'm excited to try after this one.

Just want to come through to say again both of this shit is so dank.
Not quite as strong on the flavor as some of their others, but the flavor is very good and clean.

Absolutely love Sunburn concentrates. They've had probably an 80% winrate on what I've picked up. Think maybe 2 I haven't been a fan of.

It finally stopped raining, the streets aren't too flooded anymore, and Muv was advertising a sale on their Savvy flower, GMO Jungle Cake @ 32.2%.
I pick up 8 eighths for $140.

I get home and look at the stickers on the flower jars, and I notice the THC amount is not 32.2% as advertised but works out to 28.5%. But wait , there is more! I notice that there are actually 2 stickers on the jar, one covering the other, and the 2nd sticker had the same date and batch # but THC of 24.3%. So I do a little investigating on Reddit and see that others, in prior months and years, have indicated it was advertised at 32.2 % but they did not receive it. I think MUV ad is never updated with the current batch info....but my question is why would Muv leave / put 2 differing stickers on the jar? Oh well, I'll survive, another strike against MUV! :leaf:
