FlowerMate Vapormax V/V5.0/V5.0S/V5 Pro

Is this type of failure common? I was thinking the fm would at least last me a year or two with moderate use . Btw , the warranty from smiss is only one month for the battery I think and one year for the unit .

I don't think it's common. I have a lot of friends with the original FM as well as the 5s and I'm the only one with issues which were really my fault. I do believe I've seen a couple problems mentioned in this thread though so it does happen.

Is anyone finding it harder and harder to keep their Fm clean? Mine now has some burnt on residue that I just can't shift with iso. This steam clean sounds interesting, might give that a shot.

If time permits I may try rebuilding it with just the one good battery and see what happens.

That might not be such a good idea. If one battery is appreciably stronger than the other, the imbalance will lead to trouble.

Nooo!!! Don't do it. Like I said one my bottom LED didn't work afterwords. I just scrape the ceramic bowl with a bamboo skewer and it comes out pretty clean.

I meant using just the one good battery vs. two ie) Instead of two 18650 just the one good 18650.

I was checking some sites again. The universal flowermate adapter made by smiss is available now. Looks pretty bad ass.

Nice looking adapter. Though I'm wondering if it is really needed to connect to a standard 14mm bubbler? Saw someone posted a pic somewhere in this thread where he did a straight connect with just the silicone mouthpiece. Anyone else try this method?

Hey guys thanks for the helpful thread I found this thread on reddit:

http://www.reddit.com/r/vaporents/comments/2jqnbp/

Just wondering if anyone on here has purchased from Vnice? Thinking of buying from them as shipping is quite a bit cheaper just paranoid about counterfeits etc. Can anyone confirm that Vnice sells legit vapormax's and are counterfeits a problem with these vapes or am I being overly cautious? Lol, thanks.

If you order from Vnice you can deal with Flower Wen and she is great in my experience.

There are some rebrands but no FM counterfeits. You can buy a single unit on dhgate for under $60 delivered, and they ship everywhere, so there's no point to counterfeiting.

Is there still a reliable vendor under $60? Link?

Later: Has anyone done biz with KonCare? I have been outta this thread for a while...

Yes I can confirm that they are legit and reliable. You could also order directly from Smiss, whatever ends cheaper for you.

I've had my Flowermate V5.0 for a month or so now and am pretty impressed with its performance, it just works well, consistently.

However, there is something that bothers me. My LED, although supposedly out of the chamber area appears to have melted somewhat. This doesn't inspire confidence in using the unit - nobody wants to vaporize that.

This machine is actually what opened my eyes up to all the new vaporizer technology about, and I've just ordered a Silver Surfer after reading a load of info here on the forum. I'd still like to continue using the Flowermate though, has anybody else experienced a similar issue?

Is this a known issue then? It was purchased from a reputable store, complete with glass mouthpiece, so I was led to believe it was the updated model. However, the logo on the case is the older / original style. If this is a known problem, I don't think they should be sold, especially from a retailer worth its salt.

No don't worry. In the worst case the LED surface will out-gas during the initial empty burn-ins but afterwards it should be pretty inert.

My gf has the old version too. My advice would be to just skip cleaning the LED and you will see that in no time it will be completely covered by resin, to the point it becomes a very faint and dim yellow glow, useless to light the bowl... but practically "sealed" by the resin coating. Once sealed nothing bad could happen as it will be in practice isolated from your vapor.

The universal water pipe adapter is ingenious. I ordered one. Very interested to see how it performs.

I currently use both the Silicone mouthpiece and Ed's woooden mouthpiece, but I really like that this new tool will allow me a greater degree of flexibility if I'm using tools other than my own.

Thanks for the reassurance! After a bit of digging it appears you're correct, I have a Flowermate V, which has this LED exposed. A friend of mine has the V5.0 and this issue has been addressed. Even if you are correct, I really don't want to use the unit while it's burning away at an exposed component - it's physically changing shape and is discolored :ugh:

The device was actually sold to me on a Black Friday promotion, advertised as a V5.0 - so I've been in touch with the store to replace with the product I ordered!

Don't worry I didn't do it! Took your advice and have done a wipe over with iso and scraped what I could off with a cocktail stick as I didn't have skewers. It's done a better job but still a few stains mainly on the bottom of the chamber on the mesh. It still doesn't seem to work as well as it did when it was new, I have a feeling the bottom screen in the chamber is blocked in places. I have used it a lot more than usual in the past weeks though!

If the bottom screen is clogged it will effect airflow. The ceramic bowl has holes on the bottom (where the screen is) that allow air up. I find the best way to clean the bottom screen is with something sharp and metallic. I scrape the bottom with a small flathead screwdriver and it it removes most of the gunk.

Also FYI the bottom screen is removable but I have had no luck removing it once the unit is used a lot. The screen gets jammed in well but I recall seeing on this thread people have been able to remove it which would be ideal for cleaning it.

Does anyone know if the FM charger will work in Europe with one of those plug converters? I read elsewhere it would but am curious to confirm.
