So I finally bit the bullet on this.
It was either this or a bong I'd selected from the Cheap Bubbler Thread and I couldn't help it. I just wanted to try out the vaporizer since I'd already tried out a bong.
So I'm waiting, maybe not that long. It says that the seller is in California so hopefully I have it by Monday or Tuesday.
I paid 85 and change with shipping. It was priced at 79.99. The 74.50 listing with free shipping was all out of black.
I plan on getting the matching black mouthpiece in the future. Assuming I like this thing. But since all I've read is stellar reviews I'm eager to find out.
Edit: Sweet. It has only been a few minutes and my status already changed to shipped. I guess that just means he saw the order, packaged it and purchased the shipping label but I'm amazed at how fast that was. I'm assuming this means there will be no delays. Whoot.

I have a buddy with COPD who is still combusting and I would like to see him switch to vaping. He is one of those guys who would rather not bother with a learning curve, so this may well be the best choice for him. Best price I am seeing for the VaporMax V shipped to US is about $88 and change. Is that about the best value folks are seeing? Is there any fear of getting a clone yet?

How does one take off the ceramic screen? I would greatly appreciate any help in this endeavor.
I just got mine and it's not hitting that well.

@thisperson Screw the mouthpiece on the unit, then just pull the silicone "mouthpiece" off. The ceramic screen is in the mouthpiece. Don't worry about breaking it. The mouthpiece comes off just like an atmos pen mouthpiece.

This is how I personally use the Vapormax.
I use medium ground semi fresh medicine (sour D, it's my favorite).
Pack to the top of the ceramic chamber lightly, do not use the packing tool.
Just pour it in, tap the side until its to the top of the white ceramic chamber under the LED and put the mouthpiece on without the ceramic filter and you should be golden.
Wait 5-10 second in between draws to allow the oven get back up to temperature (I usually take 10 second med/slow pulls).
By 7 seconds I'm getting a very nice hit with great vapor.
You can take the mouthpiece off, shut the lid and shake it to mix your herb up, it's very convenient.
Also, the piece that goes into the chamber is a collar that holds the screen so you can unscrew it to take the screen out to clean it.
Make sure you ISO dip your mouthpiece for a few hours (or soak it in coconut milk if you can) that makes it taste better.

Huh. I appreciate the tutorial but this just proves I have not been doing it wrong.
I still get wispy smoke buy I am definitely medicated from my morning wake and bake session. My pain is gone and my thoughts are very calm.
I have noticed, when I take off the mouthpiece to shake the herb, that it is smoking on its own sometimes. Someyhing which I had read this unit didn't do.
Also my herb comes out a dark green medium brown color. That is what I want, correct?
I think this is a decent unit for my first vape. It does the job but I wish the clouds were bigger. As is there isn't really any cloud to speak of. Although one bowl lasted me two ten.minute sessions. That was nice, although I would trade faster burning for more vapor.
I can medicate from one bowl. Two more like. About to try three.
My heat up time is like 25 seconds. It is really fast. I glance away then it is ready. When starting off cold that is.
Edit: I ended up packing a full first bowl that gave wispy hits. A half full second bowl that gave almost non-existent hits and a tightly packed third bowl that gave stronger more satisfying hits.

I don't know where you read that but it's incorrect. The Vapormax is a constant heat conduction device. That means that once it reaches vapourizing temperature, as long as there is anything left in the load it will continue to produce vapour until it turns off.

Still enjoying my Flowermate. I stuck a half-sized mflb stem into the silicone mouthpiece and it's really improved flavor for me. It's not my first choice at home but you can't beat it for a walk or for out-and-about vaping.
Something I like to do is sip a bit of water and then 'percolate' it in my mouth while I hit the FM. Its basically just taking a hit while having the water sitting on the inside of your lips (you can hear it bubbling as you pull) and for me this really removes all the harshness and gives me some impressive clouds. Give it a try! Just make sure not to dribble on your FM in the process!

THANKYOU gets 10% off which after shipping and conversion from USD puts the price for one at about $91 Canadian which looks like the cheapest for Canada other than maybe emailing through alibaba. If you order multiple units shipping will be free so cost per unit is about $82 Canadian. Pretty close to picking one of these up just not sure if I want to spring for 2 right away. Kind of wish the site had other stuff I wanted to pick up to put me over the $100 free shipping limit.

The reviews on here have been really helpful so I will most definitely but one but I'm not sure if I should buy one from Vaperfiend for £79.00. eBay £63.99-£79.99 or from Alibaba.com where Flower has given me a price of $78 which is $50.5 for the unit, $24.5 DHL express delivery and $3 paypal fee.
Obviously it's cheaper ordering it from Alibaba.com but I've read about people getting stung with the import/custom charges.
Could anyone from the UK tell me how long the delivery takes to the UK and is there a way round so I wouldn't have to pay the import/custom charges?.

Ok, this is going to sound crazy but....
I've posted before about my lower door becoming very loose, a minor annoyance of the FMVV, so I decided to try the trick of putting one end in a clamp/vice to tighten the door tension fit. As I was doing this, the unit slipped out of my hands and took a a 2 foot fall onto the floor. Both doors came loose and went flying, I also forgot the herb chamber was full and I lost a full load. Neither door would go back on and I noticed that the whole thing was now seated a bit crooked in the outer housing, the recess to fit the doors on was now much less shallow.
As I pondered what to do now, a bit perturbed at myself, I dropped the unit again! It took a bit of a tumble on the wood floor, but when I picked it back up, it looked like the impact knocked it back together straight and it was now seated properly. The doors snapped back in and they were now as tight as when it was new, even the bottom one, actually, the herb chamber door is now almost too tight. I haven't used it again yet, but the heater seems to heat up fine.
Needless to say, I am somewhat astonished that I fixed it just by dropping it! I can attest and verify that the build quality of this thing is quite good.
Edit: It is probably the responsible thing to say "Kids, don't try this at home." I don't want anyone to break their vape trying to do on purpose what I did by accident.

So I was using a glass stem in my flowermate for improved flavor, and considered using my Ascent 14mm water pipe tool along with an F-bomb to get an even better experience. However, that seemed like it would be certainly awkward and unstable.
The solution? I just crammed the 14mm F-bomb on top of the silicone tip and held steady for a good seal.
The results? incredible...humongous clouds. And as a bonus, there is no longer irritation to my throat.
And the best part? Even after 4 timed sessions I was still getting some decent clouds.
Highly recommend.
Here was my glass stem mod, but I believe that a water tool directly on top of the silicone to be an even better experience.
