I've had mine for quite a few months and it only once refused to charge, I contacted Randy (as I bought it from PIU) and he said to try charging it again all night, if it does not charge sent it back immediately for a free (brand new) replacement.
I charged it the whole night, it worked the next day.

Sounds like you got a dud but if you bought it from PIU don't sweat it, just contact them and they will work it out with you!
I don't know what PIU is. An online shop? As I live in France, I ordered it from Ebay.com and they told me to contact the company...which didn't answer.
I tried to charge it all night, just as you did. Maybe I'm unlucky : ) that's no big deal.

PIU- PuffItUp.com , he ships internationally. Even though I don't live close I still buy from him as it's peace of mind. Yes, you can save a few $ by buying from eBay/Alibaba etc (and a lot of people do) but when you run into problems, you are screwed if you didn't buy from a good seller.
I don't mind paying a few $ more if I am saving in the long run.

You may have "ebay guarantee" though, contact ebay/paypal and see if you can get a refund. Good luck!

Hey guys, just a quick question about the V5.0s. I got mine back from a mate after lending it out and i'm getting 4 red flashes when ever I try and turn it on. Is that just the low battery code or is it an error code?

Should just be a low battery. I've found it can take up to 1hr 30 of charging to be able to use it again.

I concur. I would just give it anywhere from a few hours to overnight to charge. I've not had a red light flash for anything other than a low battery that I know of.

Cheers guys. It had been so long since I used it I couldn't remember. Only reason I grabbed it was because my main unit broke. I was thinking it's just my luck to have my spare unit break as well.

It needed about 4 hours on charge to stop flashing and another hour or so till it went green. All is fine now.

Hi All,

Recent lurker, first time poster. Very interested in getting a Flowermate Mini.

But I have a couple questions about the sliding doors on the Mini, as it seems some people have issues with them being either too stiff, too loose, and even falling off.

-Are these door issues something you would notice right away and be able to return/exchange the vape for a different one?
-For people who've owned the vape a while, have you developed door problems over time?
-And how comfortable are you throwing this thing in your pocket fully loaded and not expecting the doors to come open?

I would just hate to hike around with it and get to a view and take it out of my pocket to see the door slid open and all my herb in my pocket :/

Thanks all :)

Bought a Flowermate Pro a couple of days ago and I am pretty impressed. Wanted a portable that I didn't need to bring anything else with it, just load a good session and take it with you. Fits the job perfect.

I have already replaced the mouthpiece screen and punched out the five hole screen to free up the airflow a bit. If I had more confidence I would replace the bottom chamber screen too but I think I will just place another SS screen on top of it in the hope that I can avoid the bottom one clogging eventually. Has taken a bit of getting used to the restricted airflow coming from an Underdog and Vapman. Must draw slower.

Few question:
Anyone have any tips to avoid the weed getting sucked up onto the mouthpiece and blocking the airflow? Don't really want to have to push down a SS screen into the chamber every bowl.

Would it extract as well if I put an UD basket screen (SS tip) inside the chamber for the bud to sit in? The question is really whether the bud has to touch the sides or will the heat transfer through a screen okay?

Is it nessessary to put my finger over the mouthpiece when I'm not drawing? How much vapor escapes if I don't?

Great little vape for about $110 USD I reckon!

I have a V5, a V5mini, and a V5Pro. I've never had a problem with any of the sliding doors being loose. In fact, my only complaint is they are a bit tight. I use the V5 for late night Vaping with Indicas because the fix temp of 410f is perfect for full extraction. The three temp V5mini is perfect for for anything with temps of 385, 400, and 415. But I reserve the Pro for my best buds and Sativas and start at 365 for full flavor and work up to 400 for clouds.

So, after many hours of research and the advice from this forum, I purchased a Flowermate Mini from PIU with their current Flowermate sale.

And I couldn't be happier!

I'm into mods and what not, and was trying to think of a cheap way to get this to work in a water pipe, so check this out:

1. I bought a 10-pack of #7 1/2" (~12mm) rubber o-rings from the hardware store for $2:
s3zzw3.jpg

2. I slipped one on the mouthpiece of the Flowermate about 3/4 of the way down (at the point where the mouthpiece becomes completely conical).

3. With just a tiny bit of pressure it created a perfect seal in my water pipe! (14mm female stem)

The only issue I foresee with this is perhaps the o-ring would weaken over time after multiple sessions of the o-ring heating up and cooling down (because the mouthpiece gets fairly warm closer to the base). I could imagine it would get hot enough one time and snap in the middle of usage due to the pressure being used to create the seal. I could envision some mild glass-on-glass contact occurring. However extremely little pressure is needed so hopefully it wouldn't be catastrophic.

Anyways, to de-flower my flowermate, I packed the chamber totally full. On the medium heat I probably got 10-12 very large draws using the water pipe before the vapor became too harsh. Vapor was medium to thick and all-in-all it was fantastic.

The material inside was perfectly vaped, uniform brown through every part.

And finally, no issues with the sliding doors for me :)

Thanks all for the recommendations.

Vapes R Great
I picked up a FM Mini from PIU as a birthday gift for my sister. I had it for a night took the stem screen out and tested it out a few times. I was impressed for the price. Very simple and discreet. I might pick up a couple more for x mass gifts for friends. I hope they make a universal adapter for water tools like they have for the full size FM. Good to have around as a back up vape too since it's so cheap.

Didn't want to double post but I reckon I have my Flowermate pretty sorted out now. Hopefully reduced any chance of clogging and also decreased the draw resistance.

1. Replaced MP screen with SS screen for better airflow.
2. Punched out MP 5 hole screen with screwdriver and hammer also for airflow.
3. Pushed a cut down SS screen inside FM chamber to reduce chances of clogging.
4. Am using an 8mm ceramic 5 hole screen on top of the bud to stop any herbs getting sucked onto the MP, working great so far. Glass daisy and jack also worked fine and can assume a SS screen would too, just less elegant to remove and replace.

Ideally I would replace the bottom screen with a SS screen to improve airflow some more but the Pro model is harder to pull apart than the others so I figure just reducing contact with the bottom screen should reduce clogging. Making sure to tamp down my load every time to stop it moving around in the chamber and also increase contact with herb for even heating - so far so good.

Still really impressed, I should really do a few Flowermate only days though to really test its mettle. Great little device I reckon .

Hello guys!

I present the 10$ Bubbler-Mini glass Stem- Replacement- whateverlookforyourself:

I have found a nice way to connect this bubblers to the mini without silicone tubes or other things. I ordered this drip tip from fasttech, removed the glass from it (i used too much force to remove it, so it broke... but i have no need for the glass thing anyway...) and put the bubbler on it....
voilà! It could be a bit tighter, maybe i just have to try thicker O-rings.... but it works great!

Because those 510 drip tips fit so great in the FM Mini´s MP, i ordered this small glas tip as a replacement, if the original glass Stem breaks some day (Maybe it gets a little hotter than the original one, but better than NO Stem at all):

Funny Thing: The Mini Glass Stem fits perfectly INSIDE the Bubbler. You can carry them around together:

Here are the links, if you also want to have those items...

The Bubbler (note: they offer different forms and colors of them)

I hope this helps you to connect your bubbler to the Mini! No more ugly silicone tubes, yeah! ;)

That is about the best possible setup for the FM :). The 3 temp v5.0s is under $120AU & for the money there is no better vape on the market P4P. I gave mine to a friend in an attempt to switch her away from combusting & feel it is a great transition vape especially or a spliff smoker. Bear in mind I paid $155AU for the FM v5.0 pro & $285AU for my Air so there is a bigger price gap than the $9 currently on PIU.

it looks like my flowermate 5s is giving up the ghost after 6 months of use. On top temps the weed is coming out light green.

This was my first ever vape and I have converted from burning now. What would people recommend for their second vape?

While not my second vape (MFLB in my case), I recommend you consider Solo (or Air if you want it smaller). Excellent reputation, great support (get if from PIU for great price and matchless support), top taste (better than FM IMO).

If you're looking for 'hang the harsh, give me big clouds in a hurry' you might consider Imag+. Very impressive machine for the price. Something like FM in the bowl area, so taste can suffer and efficiency lag a bit.

Sorry your FM is acting up, but half a year's hard service is nothing to quibble over IMO.

Good luck next time. You can keep the FM as a backup perhaps, a guy should have a reliable backup....

Thanks a lot. Yea it will still be used as a back up vape. I have really liked it and have no complaints overall. I'd like something that has better efficiency and taste.

I'm also thinking of getting a desktop vape, need to decide :)

Feeling The Buzz
Loaded up my V5.0s last night and got so baked my face turned numb. Definitely going to keep it in rotation along with the Mini. After 7 months of almost daily use the V5.0s has held up very well. The most noticeable sign of use is the LEDs in the oven and button have turned a little dim. Not really a big deal when considering something like a dead battery would have been the end of this vape but the batteries still hold the juice well. Comparing the FMs to my Ascent I was surprised to find the V5.0s heated up noticeably faster. The taste was also equal to what I expect from the Ascent. Plan on using the Mini tonight for more side by side effects.

Expecting a Haze V3 in a couple of days and think it will be like kissing the hottest chick in town lol. Vape on!

What is your budget? I can pm you to give a few recommendations for your budget.

Sorry to hear your flowermate is not functioning correctly, mine have all served me well and I'd be bummed if they started declining for me noticeably.
